Chapter 164

He's not that boring!

On the arena, Feng Guangyao defeated his opponent cleanly and won a round of cheers.

"Feng Guangyao should be first in this year's selection contest, right?"

"That's not certain—what about that surprise entrant who jumped straight to the semifinals?"

"Could it really be that corrupt? Maybe that surprise entrant has real strength too!"

"Not corrupt? Then why didn't they fight their way to the semifinals instead of just jumping in? Let me tell you—it's a direct promotion!"

"Exactly! They'll pair Feng Guangyao with a tough opponent to drain his strength, then let that surprise entrant just step in and snatch first place—you'll see!"

"Do you know who the surprise entrant to the semifinals is?"

"I heard it was the city lord's order—probably his relative!"

"…"

Seeing his sister about to speak, Su Yang quickly stopped her and pulled her away from the crowd.

"Brother, why don't you explain to them?"

"No need. When I step onto the arena, I'll prove it with my strength!"

"Mm!"

Soon, the final day of the Qixing City selection contest arrived.

The day before, the semifinalists had already been decided.

Five people total: four Silver-level Beast Tamer, one Bronze-level Beast Tamer.

Add Su Yang, and it's six!

On the final day, the arena was packed with people.

Even those who missed the earlier matches would come out today to see Qixing City's youngest Beast Tamers and find out who would take first place!

Most importantly, rumors said today's Qixing City young talent selection contest had corruption!

That made it even more appealing!

Qixing City's Lord Su Su Liqun and Deputy Lord Dou Dou Wenlong also appeared on-site.

The semifinal format was simple: two random draws, pairing competitors two by two.

The top three would be decided by noon.

In the afternoon, the top three would compete for rankings!

The rewards for the top three were simple, brutal, and generously practical.

First place would receive one million Federal Credits, second place five hundred thousand, and third place three hundred thousand!

The awarded Beast Tamers could spend the money precisely where needed to enhance their strength.

Five hundred thousand Federal Credits was enough to buy a decent Platinum-level pet egg!

On the arena, the six young Beast Tamers in the semifinals stood in a line, Su Yang at the far edge.

The other five young Beast Tamers occasionally glanced sideways at Su Yang.

Two of the Beast Tamers, upon seeing Su Yang, suddenly understood.

Clearly, they knew Su Yang.

The other three Beast Tamers looked at Su Yang with resentment and disdain…

Those who thought themselves superior always looked down on those who got in through back doors and corruption.

To them, Su Yang was a back-door entrant.
