Chapter 224: Golden Tsunami! Jiacheng Defense Battle!

Because each Gold-grade beast has a large activity range, even with Storm Eagle, Su Yang found it difficult to hunt for Gold-grade beasts on his own.

How could he possibly wait for entire herds of Gold-grade beasts to come to him like this?

After a round of bombardment, the Gold-grade beasts from Jin Ya Mountain launched a fierce counterattack.

In the sky, the emergency squad and Jiacheng's flying beasts engaged in fierce combat with the Gold-grade beasts!

Flying familiars and beasts continuously fell from the sky.

Su Yang's Storm Eagle moved like the wind, leaving trails of afterimages as it dodged long-range attacks, its wings sharp as blades, gliding effortlessly across the battlefield.

Wherever it flew, Gold-grade beasts had their wings sliced off, their bellies torn open, screaming as they plummeted to the ground.

The Storm Eagle's killing efficiency was no less than that of a Platinum-grade familiar.

Zhu Xiaoshuang closely watched Su Yang's Storm Eagle; after seeing its terrifying speed and blade-like, unstoppable wings, she finally relaxed.

She could tell that Su Yang's Storm Eagle possessed extraordinary combat power.

It was the finest Gold-grade flying familiar she had ever seen in her life!

"Ding~ Your familiar Storm Eagle has upgraded to Gold Mid-Grade!"

"Ding~ Your Storm Eagle has learned a Wind-element skill—Storm Shield—during battle!"

Storm Shield: During high-speed flight, Storm Eagle uses wind-element energy to form a wind-element shield around its body; the faster it flies, the stronger the Storm Shield becomes.

Su Yang received the system notification and looked up at the Storm Eagle—he saw a faint blue glow enveloping it!

That was the Storm Shield!

Soon, over three hundred Gold-grade beasts were either killed or turned and fled.

But Jiacheng and the emergency squad also suffered heavy losses among their flying familiars!

The Storm Eagle rose again into the sky; Su Yang did not forget his mission.

Zhu Xiaoshuang asked: "How is it?"

Su Yang took a deep breath: "In ten minutes, Platinum-grade ground beasts will appear!"

Zhu Xiaoshuang immediately ordered: "You have ten minutes to recover your flying familiars—go now!"

Although beast masters have Beast Space.

They cannot recall their familiars at will at any time.

Beast masters must get close to their familiars.

Gold-grade beast masters can recall their familiars within about ten meters.

In the battle against the Gold-grade beasts, some Gold-grade familiars died outright, but most were only Suffered heavy injuries and fell from the sky.

Gold-grade beast masters could never abandon the flying familiars they had painstakingly raised!

At Zhu Xiaoshuang's command, beast masters whose flying familiars were still alive directed their own flying familiars to carry those needing to recover their beasts back to the battlefield.

With spiritual connection and coordination from other beast masters' flying familiars, nearly all beast masters were able to retrieve their surviving familiars.

Shen Yan smiled at Su Yang: "Thank goodness for your Storm Eagle—otherwise we couldn't have directed so precisely!"

Zhu Xiaoshuang nodded in agreement.

For such praise, Su Yang could only accept it.

Ten minutes later, the last Gold-grade beast master returned to the city wall.

At that moment, the first wave of Platinum-grade beasts appeared in the defenders' line of sight.

Leading the charge were three Shadow Night Leopards, moving with ghostly speed—each step covering nearly a hundred meters…

"Let's go!"

Zhu Xiaoshuang, Shen Yan, Mu Yuankai, Shi You, and another deputy captain of the Tenth Squad each summoned their beasts; seven Platinum-grade beasts hovered in midair. The three Shadow Night Leopards sensed danger—they observed the seven Platinum-grade beasts ahead and the seven Platinum-grade familiars in the sky, then immediately changed course, detouring around Jiacheng's flank.

Zhu Xiaoshuang murmured as she watched the Shadow Night Leopards retreat: "Clever."

Soon after, other Platinum-grade beasts arrived; the fourteen Platinum-grade familiars immediately launched a sniper strike.

After scattering several waves of Platinum-grade attackers, the fourteen Platinum-grade familiars were reduced to eleven—three had been Suffered heavy injuries and were recalled in time.

Xu Jiutian chuckled beside Su Yang: "If these beasts keep coming in scattered groups, we should still be able to hold out easily."

He had barely finished speaking when Su Yang felt another pang of unease.

This unease, though not as intense as when he encountered over twenty Cloud Eagles before, still filled Su Yang with dread!

Soon, Su Yang understood why he felt this unease.

Storm Eagle informed him that a swarm of Black Gold Armored Spiders had entered its vision—over a thousand of them—behind them followed nearly a thousand Rock Armor Rhinos and over a dozen Earth Rampagers… likely to arrive in twenty minutes.

Adult Black Gold Armored Spiders, Rock Armor Rhinos, and Earth Rampagers are all Gold-grade beasts.

Black Gold Armored Spiders are agile and excel in close combat.

Rock Armor Rhinos and Earth Rampagers are powerful and heavily armored—true hardcores!

Once they gather en masse, they become an extremely terrifying force—even Platinum-grade beasts would retreat before such power!

Moreover, above the massive columns of Black Gold Armored Spiders and Rock Armor Rhinos, countless Silver-grade flying beasts filled the sky!

Su Yang reported the situation to the five Platinum-grade beast masters.

Mu Yuankai's face turned grim.

"Jin Ya Mountain indeed has vast numbers of Rock Armor Rhinos!" Mu Yuankai whispered. "We must not let the Rock Armor Rhinos get close—must not let them near Jiacheng. If they reach the city, the walls won't withstand their charge!"

Zhu Xiaoshuang coldly ordered: "Then try to lure them away—but be careful of those Silver-grade flying beasts!"

Shen Yan nodded: "Understood!"

The two emergency squad deputy captains and the five Platinum-grade beast masters immediately flew south.

Meanwhile, Su Yang and the others standing on Jiacheng's wall all felt a tremor.

The wall was shaking.

In the distance, they clearly saw dust rising from the green-covered Jin Ya Mountain, countless trees toppled, and within the dust, countless beasts faintly visible.

Above them, countless black dots spread out in all directions around Jinya Mountain.

Those were the Silver-tier flying ferocious beasts.

The Gold-tier terrestrial ferocious beasts and Silver-tier flying ferocious beasts were still far from Jiacheng, but if they gave their full speed, they would reach Jiacheng in just twenty minutes.

Not long after, Su Yang and the others saw Mu Yuankai's group encountering a Gold-tier ferocious beast swarm.

Their seven Platinum-tier flying companion beasts launched an attack on the lead Black Gold Armored Spider; hundreds of Black Gold Armored Spiders leapt straight up, soaring over a hundred meters, like a roaring golden tsunami.

After the golden tsunami, one of Zhu Xiaoshuang's Platinum-tier flying companion beasts vanished instantly.
