Chapter 236

Watching the medics carry away the wounded and drag off the dead wrapped in body bags, Su Yang felt a pang in his heart.

The Gold-rank Beastmasters had fully withdrawn, and Zhu Xiaoshuang and the others retreated back as well.

Their condition was also poor—Mu Yuankai's hair was burned off, Shen Yan had a deep gash across his back from some unknown cause, and the rest, though uninjured, all had pale faces.

Other Gold-rank beasts began approaching the city wall, but these Gold-rank beasts were few in number and posed little threat to the wall.

They would turn away upon seeing the Jiacheng city wall; some attempted to climb it but were quickly killed by Beastmasters standing atop the wall.

Su Yang glanced at the breach in the wall, where Jiacheng engineers were frantically repairing it.

He looked toward the distance beyond Jiacheng, where hundreds more Rock-Armored Giant Rhinos had appeared—but they were running away, with no intention of coming to Jiacheng.

"Su Yang, take another look!"

"There's definitely a Silver-rank beast tide forming, and it's massive!" Su Yang added, "Behind them are even Black-Iron-rank flying beasts!"

"Are there no more Gold-rank beasts?"

Su Yang said, "Very few are heading toward us—almost negligible."

They wouldn't care about the beasts coming from other directions.

Zhu Xiaoshuang exhaled in relief: "Good!"

Bai Ming ordered: "All Gold-rank Beastmasters who still have fighting strength, stay behind! Jiacheng's Silver-rank Beastmasters, take the wall!"

Some Gold-rank Beastmasters withdrew, and over a thousand Silver-rank Beastmasters ascended the wall.

In the previous battle, their beast companions were useless.

"Ding~ System notification: Host has completed the task! System reward is being distributed!"

"Ding~ Your beast, Storm Eagle, has upgraded its Legendary Eagle Eye talent to Mythic-level talent—Divine Eagle Eye!"

"Divine Eagle Eye: Vision and field of view greatly enhanced; can easily pierce through the cloud layer; high probability of seeing through illusions, disguises, and invisibility!"

"Ding~ Your beast, Earth Rampager Bear, has upgraded its Rare Sensory Smell talent to Legendary-level Sensory Smell talent!"

"Ding~ Your beast, Hellblood Vine Flower, has gained the Common-level talent Lush Roots!"

"Ding~ Your beast, Seven-Colored Illusionary Butterfly, has upgraded its Rare Five-Senses Illusion talent to Legendary-level Five-Senses Illusion talent!"

"Ding~ Your beast, Seven-Colored Illusionary Butterfly, talent upgrade increases its growth potential from Star-Shine Top-Grade to King-Rank Low-Grade."

With the system task completed, a cascade of notifications left Su Yang dazzled.

Storm Eagle's Eagle Eye talent upgraded to Mythic-level; although Divine Eagle Eye remained a support reconnaissance talent, Su Yang was still greatly pleased.

At least it had special effects!

In certain situations, seeing through illusions, disguises, and invisibility truly mattered.
