Chapter 471

Liu Mengyun frowned: "Those ivory-web spiders aren't attacking them?"

The Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly appeared beside Su Yang: "Control two Black Gold Armored Spiders and greet the ivory-web spiders!"

The two Black Gold Armored Spiders were instantly controlled by the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly; they marched on eight legs, launched themselves several times, and rushed toward one ivory-web spider.

That ivory-web spider, as large as a truck, glanced at the two "tiny" Black Gold Armored Spiders… and walked away.

Throughout, that ivory-web spider never attacked the Black Gold Armored Spiders.

This was clearly abnormal!

Neither the Black Gold Armored Spiders nor the ivory-web spiders are gentle beasts!

Liu Mengyun tightly pressed her lips: "Commander Su, have the two Black Gold Armored Spiders provoke the ivory-web spiders slightly!"

"Understood!"

One Black Gold Armored Spider extended its chelicerae and slammed hard against the ivory-web spider's massive rear end!

The ivory-web spider swiftly turned its head and hissed shrilly at the Black Gold Armored Spider.

Clearly, the ivory-web spider was angry!

But after threatening, seeing no response from the Black Gold Armored Spider, it let out another threatening cry, turned around, and sprinted toward the Sky-Piercing Bird.

Su Yang had never seen such a tolerant beast before!

"There's no reason the ivory-web spiders and Black Gold Armored Spiders wouldn't fight," Liu Mengyun said, taking a deep breath. "The only possible explanation is that the ivory-web spiders and Black Gold Armored Spiders have allied."

"You mean a Beast King?"

Liu Mengyun nodded: "They likely have a unified leader. Aside from a Beast King, I can't think of any other possibility."

"If a Beast King truly appears, this will be a major problem!" Su Yang muttered, staring at the growing number of ivory-web spiders on the ground. "Let's go check on Yangcheng first. I hope they haven't run into trouble."

Half a day later, vast fields and scattered villages appeared before Su Yang and his team.

White spiderwebs hung from those villages; several ivory-web spiders moved in and out of the homes.

Su Yang flew above the village, tore open a roof, and several human skins floated out with the roof tiles.

Clearly, the villagers in this settlement had been killed.

Three Gold-Rank ivory-web spiders, their ivory-white-patterned rear ends raised, spat white silk at Su Yang and his team.

The Black Tiger Eagle flapped its wings, and seven or eight wind blades instantly shredded them.

"Surprising?" Su Yang's face was cold as he gazed westward. "All units, accelerate toward Yangcheng!"

"Yes!"

The Black Tiger Eagle flew at the front; the other beast masters followed closely behind.

Su Yang soon received word from the Storm Eagle: the Yangcheng city wall had collapsed.

Countless spider-like beasts had flooded into Yangcheng.

"Storm Eagle, come back and take me!" Su Yang stood up from the Black Tiger Eagle's back. "Captain Hao, Deputy Officer Liu, the Yangcheng wall has fallen—I'm going ahead. Prepare for battle."

"Yes!"

The faces of all members of the Fourteenth Squad turned solemn.

They knew exactly what it meant when the Yangcheng wall had collapsed.

The Storm Eagle swooped in; Su Yang leapt from the Black Tiger Eagle's back and landed directly on the Storm Eagle's back.

But at that moment, Liu Mengyun retracted the Black Tiger Eagle and jumped onto the Storm Eagle's claw: "Commander Su, I should be able to help!"

"Good, then let's go together!"

Liu Mengyun's combat power was not weak.

Two minutes later, the Storm Eagle reached the high altitude above Yangcheng.

Above Yangcheng, countless tiny white spiders, each the size of a fist, filled the air.

These white spiders had no wings, yet they could fly.

Their bodies carried enormous spiderwebs like hang gliders, drifting with the wind through the midair above Yangcheng.

Once above the city, they dropped their webs and plunged directly into the city.

Besides the floating Frostfall Spiders, the most prominent in Yangcheng were seven or eight Platinum-Rank Swift Wolf Spiders and two Star Gold Buddha Spiders.

Swift Wolf Spiders and Gold Buddha Spiders are uncommon in the southwest.

Especially the Gold Buddha Spider—Su Yang had never seen one before.

This Star-Rank beast primarily dwells in Tianzhu, and it was the Tianzhu people who named it.

The reason: a golden pattern on its back resembles a seated Buddha!

Inside Yangcheng, two Platinum-Rank experts each fought one Gold Buddha Spider.

But neither gained the upper hand; instead, they were being overwhelmed by the Gold Buddha Spiders…

Many Gold-Rank flying beast companions used Storm Winds, trying to blow away the floating Frostfall Spiders.

Seven or eight Swift Wolf Spiders, unopposed, rampaged through Yangcheng, hunting beast masters mercilessly.

One Platinum-Rank Swift Wolf Spider leapt from a rooftop, soared over a hundred meters, bit through a flying beast companion, then landed gracefully.

The collapsed western wall of Yangcheng city saw over a thousand ivory-web spiders and black-gold armored spiders, accompanied by swarms of lower-tier venomous spiders and other spider-like ferocious beasts, pouring into the city.

Ordinary soldiers began firing at these ferocious beasts.

The black-gold armored spiders leapt first into the ranks of the ordinary soldiers, using their eight sharp chelicerae to wildly slaughter lives.

The formation was instantly breached!

Many ordinary soldiers, terrified beyond courage, dropped their crystal-guns and fled eastward with the civilians in a mad panic…

But their speed could never match that of the ferocious beasts!

The black-gold armored spiders slaughtered wildly among the crowd.

Wherever the ivory-web spiders passed, webs spread everywhere, firmly binding countless pet beasts, beast-tamers, and ordinary people!

On the ground, bulging mounds of earth erupted as dozens of gray, calf-sized spiders leapt out.

The situation in Yangcheng had deteriorated to the worst possible degree!

The beast-tamer forces were retreating step by step, with heavy casualties.

The ordinary soldiers were in full retreat.

The two platinum-ranked beast-tamers were barely holding their own.

The fall of Yangcheng was merely a matter of time.

"Ding~ Mission released: Repel all incoming ferocious beasts and hold out for three days!"

"Ding~ Mission reward: Two talent points awarded; one talent point can raise a pet beast's talent by one level—mythic-tier talents cannot be used."
