Chapter 5

Just reading the description, it already felt like this talent was insanely powerful!

Once the Storm Eagle grows up, it will definitely be an incredibly terrifying presence!

It's just unclear exactly how "massive" this increase really is!

Of course, there was one thing that surprised Su Yang: the Storm Eagle's growth potential had improved, meaning that with proper cultivation, it could raise its rank all the way to King-Rank Top-Grade!

Su Yang had only just learned that above Star-Rank ferocious beasts lies the King-Rank!

The little Storm Eagle spotted Su Yang at first glance, flapped its wings, and leapt into his arms.

These ferocious beasts, having fully developed inside their eggs, could run, fly, and fight immediately after hatching.

Su Yang weighed it in his hands—the little Storm Eagle was heavy, about five catties of meat!

The dozen or so teenagers standing aside began whispering among themselves upon seeing the little Storm Eagle.

"What kind of bird is this?"

"Pitch black, kind of looks like a mutated sparrow!"

"Is it a mutated sparrow?"

"It's definitely a mutated sparrow!"

"Hahaha!"

"This is hilarious!"

"I'm laughing until I cry!"

"…"

Except for Zhou Dahai, all the other teenagers burst into loud laughter, clutching their stomachs.

Even Instructor Chen covered his face, presumably holding back his laughter.

Many bird and fish ferocious beasts are hard to distinguish right after birth.

The juvenile Storm Eagle looked incredibly like a juvenile mutated sparrow.

They were roughly the same size, and both were black!

"Liiii!"

Perhaps sensing the hostility around it, the Storm Eagle—whose potential was immense and intelligence high—grew angry!

A sharp, piercing cry erupted from its beak.

The pet beasts beside the other eleven teenagers trembled!

Instructor Chen's smile vanished; he stared in shock at the little eagle in Su Yang's arms.

"Liiii!"

Another terrifying eagle screech!

All of those teenagers' pet beasts exhibited abnormal behavior!

The newly hatched Storm Crocodile hid behind its master; the young Wind Shadow Cat curled into a shivering ball, leaving a puddle of urine on the ground; even Zhou Dahai's Green Wind Wolf tucked its tail between its legs and lay flat on the ground…

Some even more timid and sensitive pet beasts vanished outright, retreating back into their masters' bodies!

"Storm Crocodile, what's wrong?"

"Instructor, what's happening to my little Wind Shadow Cat? Is it sick?"

"Instructor, my Earth Bear is shaking—but it's not cold!"

"…"

Instructor Chen shouted loudly: "Stop making noise!"

The scene fell silent; the teenagers all looked pitifully at Instructor Chen.

Then Instructor Chen turned to Su Yang and said: "Make your pet stop screaming—it's terrified all the other pets…"

Su Yang lowered his head and saw the little Storm Eagle glaring fiercely at the teenagers.

The little Storm Eagle opened its beak, as if about to let out another threatening cry; Su Yang quickly reached out and pinched its long beak shut!

"Forget it, don't bother with them!"

The little Storm Eagle glanced at Su Yang, then glared once more at the group of teenagers and their pets before finally closing its beak.

Got it!

Su Yang had figured it out—his pet had a notoriously violent temper!

After the little Storm Eagle stopped its threatening cries, the pet beasts gradually regained some composure, at least no longer trembling.

One of the teenagers, uncertain, asked Instructor Chen: "Instructor, what's going on? Is our pets' condition related to that little black bird?"

Instructor Chen nodded: "I might as well tell you—it's something you'll learn at school anyway. In the wild, the higher a ferocious beast's potential, the superior its bloodline; the superior its bloodline, the greater its suppression over beasts with lower potential… When you properly train your pets later, this suppression from higher bloodlines will lessen significantly!"

Zhou Dahai exclaimed: "So you mean Su Yang's pet has an exceptionally superior bloodline?"

"Exactly. Su Yang got lucky—this black hatchling is definitely an eagle-type ferocious beast with very high bloodline potential, likely possessing Gold-Rank potential!" Instructor Chen said enviously, looking at Su Yang. "A Gold-Rank potential eagle pet is something many Beast Masters dream of. Once grown, it can carry you tens of thousands of meters into the sky. You must cultivate it well—it's a partner you'll fight alongside for life!"

Su Yang nodded and said: "I'll cultivate it well!"

The other twelve teenagers all stared at Su Yang with envy and jealousy!

This included the teenager who had claimed his family elders had prepared a ferocious beast egg for him.

That teenager knew that even though his family was powerful in Seven-Star City, securing him a normal Gold-Rank potential ferocious beast egg was already the absolute limit!

A Gold-Rank flying-type ferocious beast egg? He could only dream of it.

These people thought Su Yang's Storm Eagle had only Gold-Rank potential—if they knew it possessed King-Rank potential and a Mythic-tier talent ability, they'd probably go insane on the spot!
