Chapter 518: Explosive Elder Yan Mo! Another Even More Fierce One!

"By the way, bring along the Fourteenth Emergency Squad!"

"Is that necessary?"

"I didn't tell you to bring the Fourteenth Squad for your own sake!" Yao Xing laughed. "The Western Military Department is planning a major operation—even if they don't say it, our Southwest Military Department should lend some support, right?"

"Understood!"

"Get ready. Yesterday, I ran into Wang Hong at the military headquarters—I'll go ask him if he has any missions. If he doesn't, I'll drag him over!"

"Thank you, Commander Yao!"

"Get prepared. No matter what, we depart in three days!"

"Yes!"

Back at the Fourteenth Squad, Su Yang accepted Zhou Wanshan's terms and informed him of Commander Yao's orders.

Zhou Wanshan was extremely pleased; the Changwu City Emergency Squad was elite within the Southwest Military Department, and for Commander Yao to personally dispatch a squad to support them was already more than generous.

Su Yang also sent word to Hao Ren—his leave was definitely over.

Three days later, the seventy-six members of the Fourteenth Emergency Squad boarded Worm Train No. 1056.

Su Yang sat aboard the worm train, preparing to distribute mission rewards.

He had yet to distribute the reward for escorting tens of thousands of civilians from Wanyang City to Zhangcheng.

Thinking of the possible opponents they'd face in the west.

Su Yang made his decision without hesitation: he would upgrade the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly.

The Western Military Department sent a Lieutenant Colonel to fetch him—and even offered Tian Meng's main pet's offspring as compensation—not because they valued Su Yang as a genius, but because they valued his Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly!

They needed its rapid memory-breaking ability.

Therefore, in this mission to the west, the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly was unquestionably the main asset.

Moreover, the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly was the strongest counter to the Shoushen Sect's most potent psychic-type pets—upgrading it was absolutely necessary.

"Ding~ Your pet, the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly, has upgraded its Rare-level Psychic Surge talent to Legendary-level Psychic Surge talent!"

"Ding~ Your pet, the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly, has improved its growth potential from Sovereign-Rank Mid-Grade to Sovereign-Rank High-Grade!"

More than a fortnight later, Su Yang saw the towering walls of Shi Yuncheng from Worm Train No. 1056.

Several corpses still hung from Shi Yuncheng's walls.

But the train did not stop at Shi Yuncheng—it passed directly into the west.

About another month later, Su Yang's group finally arrived at Yilan City, the central city of the west.

"Finally here!"

Zhou Wanshan let out a long breath.

He was a top-tier Beast Master from Xingyao—if not for the worm subway, he would've returned to the Western Military Department long ago.

"Yes!"

After nearly two months of travel, Su Yang only hoped the west wouldn't disappoint him.

The worm train's doors slowly opened, and soldiers stationed at the station rushed over.

Zhou Wanshan was the first to jump off, showing his credentials to the soldiers.

Soon, five military trucks arrived, and the members of the Fourteenth Emergency Squad boarded them.

The trucks slowly started moving.

Su Yang glanced at the pedestrians on the street—the civilians of Yilan City seemed to be living well.

Each one wore clean clothes and showed no signs of malnutrition.

The west might be in chaos, but Yilan City was surely stable.

Over an hour later, the members of the Fourteenth Emergency Squad were assigned to a guesthouse.

Su Yang, accompanied by Hao Ren and Liu Mengyun, followed Zhou Wanshan to the Western Military Department.

Inside the Western Military Department, Su Yang met General He Gang, the current commander.

He Gang was not tall, his skin was pale, his hair was streaked with gray, giving him an aged appearance.

After saluting, Su Yang, He Wanshan, Hao Ren, and the others sat down.

"Lieutenant Su, thank you for bringing the Fourteenth Emergency Squad to assist. We're counting on you!"

"No trouble—it's our mission."

He Gang lit a cigarette and asked if Su Yang and the others wanted one; Su Yang smiled and declined.

After taking a drag, He Gang chuckled: "Old Qin has already written to me, telling me to protect you well—or he'll come find me."

Su Yang smiled and asked: "General He, when does the mission start?"

"About ten days from now! It's no secret—Shoushen Sect probably already suspects something!" He Gang declared firmly. "In recent days, we've been mobilizing Beast Master units to drive Shoushen Sect out of the west entirely—preferably exterminate them completely!"

Su Yang could sense the determination in He Gang's words.

Shoushen Sect's actions in the west had pushed this old general to his limit!

He Gang certainly didn't want his territory turned into another wasteland like the northwest!

"Achieving total extermination won't be easy!" He Gang said seriously, looking at Su Yang. "That's why we need your ability."

"No problem!"

"Lieutenant Su, come with me."

He Gang crushed out his cigarette, stood up from his chair, and gestured for Su Yang to follow.

Su Yang told Hao Ren and the others: "Wait here for a moment."

"Yes, Lieutenant!"

Su Yang followed He Gang down the corridor, passing many officers along the way.

They greeted He Gang while eyeing Su Yang curiously.

First, Su Yang is a new face, and an extremely young major!

Second, he is accompanying General He Gang.

"Who is he?"

"I don't know him!"

A young female logistics soldier laughed: "So young—he's a total hunk!"

"Judging by his uniform, he must be from the Southwest Military District's Emergency Unit."

"He's so young and already a major—he must be a Beast Tamer!"

"…"

He Gang led Su Yang into an empty conference room and took out a stone sphere, oval and the size of a football, from his space pouch.

The sphere bore black flame patterns, appearing profoundly eerie.

This must be the Explosive Yan Mo!

【Name】: Explosive Yan Mo

【Talent】:

1. Great Explosion (Legendary); 2. Outburst (Legendary); 3. Fire Poison (Rare); 4. Fierce Flame (Rare).

【Growth Potential】: Emperor-Rank Top-Grade

【Attributes】: Flight, Elemental, Fire

After reading the attributes, Su Yang finally understood why the Explosive Yan Mo was Tian Meng's main beast companion.

He finally understood why Tian Meng had become a top regional authority of the Huaxia Federation thanks to the Explosive Yan Mo!

The attributes of this Explosive Yan Mo were even more extraordinary than those of the Ice Moon Sprite back then.
