Chapter 657: Shape Mimicry

The Ice Moon Sprite gave the Shadow Phantom Cat a meaningful look.

The Shadow Phantom Cat lowered its head and ignored it.

"What's wrong?"

Su Yang looked up and saw the Ice Moon Sprite standing at the door, looking puzzled.

"N-nothing!"

The Ice Moon Sprite stepped out of the office and gently closed the door.

Outside Su Yang's office was Liu Mengyun's office.

Liu Mengyun saw the Ice Moon Sprite emerge but didn't see the Shadow Phantom Cat.

"Is it still inside?"

"Mm-hmm!"

The Ice Moon Sprite was in a bad mood.

Why had Su Yang told everyone to come out, yet the Shadow Phantom Cat stubbornly refused to leave his side?

That was so unfair!

"What's it doing inside?"

The Ice Moon Sprite hinted: "The Colonel said he's going to nurture it properly—soon, it'll be just like me!"

"Really?"

Liu Mengyun didn't know whether she should be happy.

Logically, since Su Yang was willing to help her nurture her pet beast, she ought to be delighted!

"It's true!"

The Ice Moon Sprite didn't want to say more; it turned into a beam of white light and attached itself to Liu Mengyun.

After two days of rest, Su Yang regained a little energy.

After prolonged stillness, he felt the urge to act—he decided to enhance his strength.

The Explosion Yan Mo he obtained from the Western Military Department was still too weak.

He planned to use this time to raise the Explosion Yan Mo's rank.

After reporting to Yao Xing, Su Yang brought Liu Mengyun to the outskirts of Mount Yandang.

The Explosion Yan Mo's rank was too low; the ferocious beasts at Mount Yandang's outskirts were sufficient for its leveling needs.

And Su Yang himself was no longer suited to venture deep into Mount Yandang.

He still needed to return frequently to await news from the Southwest Military Department.

Liu Mengyun, however, applied to Su Yang to enter the depths of Mount Yandang—she wanted serious training.

"Colonel, my current strength is holding you back—I want to become stronger!"

The Ice Moon Sprite is now Star-Shine Low-Grade.

As a Star-Shine-level Beast Master, Liu Mengyun's strength already far surpassed her peers.

Logically, she had every reason to be complacent now.

But because she'd always stayed by Su Yang's side, she'd become even stricter with herself.

She took Su Yang as her benchmark and always felt severely inadequate.

"Go!" Su Yang agreed to Liu Mengyun's request. "One month—I give you one month!"

"Yes!"

"Stay safe!"

Su Yang didn't want Liu Mengyun to perish in the depths of Mount Yandang.

"Understood!"

After Liu Mengyun left, Su Yang released the Explosion Yan Mo.

After so long cooped up, the little creature appeared and glared at him angrily.

Su Yang noticed its loyalty had dropped slightly.

It was throwing a tantrum!

Probably didn't like being cooped up in the Beast Space for too long.

"Come on—I'll take you to blow something up!"

The Explosion Yan Mo nodded happily; three black explosive fire eagles circled around it.

Its mouth kept emitting muffled "boom!" sounds.

It clearly looked forward to Su Yang's words.

The slight drop in loyalty quickly recovered.

"Ding~ Task released: The Explosion Yan Mo, 憋久了, wants to blow something up—the host must let it have its fun!"

"Ding~ Task reward: Randomly upgrade the Explosion Yan Mo's talent by one level."

Su Yang heard the system's task and couldn't help smiling.

This task was kind of interesting.

Perfectly suited to the Explosion Yan Mo's personality.

Wanting to have fun? Easy!
