Chapter 67: The Second Pet Beast! Mythic Talent: Indestructible Body!

Su Yang looked at its talent.

Fight to the Death (Semi-Awakened · Rare): This pet beast possesses a rare battle will; when injured in combat, its combat power gradually increases, and the negative impact of injuries on its battle capability is greatly reduced.

Powerful Physique (Rare): This pet beast possesses an even stronger physique.

Su Yang finally understood why that Earthquake Bear had survived the countless mutated sparrows' attacks!

Two rare battle talents—this Earthquake Bear is practically a minor supreme-level treasure!

But what does "semi-awakened" mean?

"System, why is its Fight to the Death talent semi-awakened?"

The system replied: "Beast talents are divided into innate talents and acquired talents. Most beast talents are innate; only a tiny fraction of beasts, under rare circumstances, can spontaneously awaken new talents by unlocking their potential!"

"Among these self-awakened talents, more than half are willpower or spirit-based talents, requiring the beast itself to possess an unbreakable will!"

"This Earthquake Bear must have awakened its new talent through the stimulation of its fierce battle will and terrifying will to survive!"

Su Yang understood: this Earthquake Bear's innate talent was indeed good, but what kept it alive was its willpower!

Willpower!

It was something invisible, intangible, yet always deeply admirable!

Many people could not admire those born with innate talents, but would absolutely admire those with strong willpower!

A Black-Iron Mid-Grade mutated sparrow cautiously crept closer to the Earthquake Bear.

As soon as it neared, the Earthquake Bear suddenly raised its right forepaw—now reduced to just a few strips of muscle—and smashed it down, crushing the mutated sparrow into pulp!

It panted, its single remaining eye tracking the circling Storm Eagle as if ready to explode into a sudden lethal strike at any moment!

The Earthquake Bear's life flame flickered like a candle in the wind, as if it would be snuffed out at any moment…

Su Yang leapt off the Storm Eagle's back; the Storm Eagle dissolved into a streak of light and became a tattoo, bonding to Su Yang's body.

He raised his hands to show he meant no harm, then slowly approached the Earthquake Bear.

The Earthquake Bear's single eye followed Su Yang's movements!

Beasts possess intelligence too.

The higher a beast's growth potential, the higher its intelligence.

And a Gold Top-Grade beast possesses at least the intelligence of a five-year-old human child!

When he reached a position ten meters from the Earthquake Bear, Su Yang stopped.

He asked in as gentle a voice as he could: "Earthquake Bear, if I save you, will you become my battle partner and fight beside me?"

The Earthquake Bear stared fiercely at Su Yang and let out a defiant roar from its throat!

"Bang!"

Su Yang punched hard, slamming his fist into the Earthquake Bear's bowl-sized head!

The mortally wounded Earthquake Bear instantly passed out!

"Sure enough, when dealing with such a stubborn type, fists work best!"

Su Yang sliced his finger and dripped blood onto the Earthquake Bear's head; a white array appeared beneath Su Yang's feet.

Two minutes later, Su Yang felt the bond forming between himself and the Earthquake Bear.

Pet Beast Contract established!

"Ding~ Congratulations, host! You have successfully completed the task. Reward: Your pet beast, Earthquake Bear, gains a Mythic-level talent—Indestructible Body!"

"Indestructible Body (Mythic): Greatly enhances this pet beast's vitality, recovery ability, physical defense, and resistance to all elemental attributes, while eliminating its critical vulnerabilities!"

"Ding~ Due to the high similarity between the Mythic-level talent Indestructible Body and the Rare-level talent Powerful Physique, the Rare-level talent has been absorbed into the Mythic-level talent Indestructible Body, resulting in a slight enhancement of the Mythic-level talent!"

"Ding~ Because your Earthquake Bear has gained a Mythic-level talent, its growth potential has been upgraded from Gold Top-Grade to Star-Shine Top-Grade!"

"Sss~"

After reading the description of Indestructible Body, Su Yang sucked in a sharp breath!

This Mythic-level talent is insane!

Its insanity rivals the Storm Eagle's Meteor from Beyond the Heavens!

It also upgraded the Earthquake Bear's growth potential from Gold Top-Grade, skipping Platinum entirely, straight to Star-Shine Top-Grade!

It not only greatly boosts vitality, recovery, and elemental resistance—it even removed its critical vulnerabilities!

This benefits Su Yang immensely too!

Because when a pet beast forms a tattoo and bonds to him, he effectively fuses with it—he can not only use the pet's power but also gain the benefits of its talents…

As for the Earthquake Bear's original talent, Powerful Physique, being absorbed into Indestructible Body—that's because Mythic-level talents themselves vary in strength!

The Earthquake Bear slowly opened its eyes; its once-fierce single gaze now held deep respect as it looked at Su Yang.

Because it clearly sensed the changes in its own body!

It knew—the human before it was the one who gave it new life and bestowed its power!

Loyalty is merely a measurement.

Even if a familiar is willing to die for its master, its loyalty can never reach 100.
