Chapter 786

They thought they were dead for sure!

Almost all the Beast Tamer officers in the upper district were members of the City Guard.

Before the tsunami hit, they rushed into the bomb shelters, trying to save their families.

But they failed to escape in time, and were frozen solid along with everything else by Liu Mengyun!

Of course, they also had to thank Liu Mengyun.

If she hadn't frozen them, their final fate would still have been getting smashed from the sky by the colossal wave!

A City Guard Beast Tamer, carrying two civilians on each shoulder and gripping two more in his hands, walked over, followed by a military Beast Tamer whose beast carried seven civilians:

"Brothers, thank Deputy Officer Liu—she froze the entire Mount Dajiao City, saving your lives. Otherwise, the tsunami would've smashed you to death… If you can still move, go find something to eat, then come help us rescue others!"

"Got it!"

"Understood!"

"…"

The upper district of Mount Dajiao City housed a large number of military Beast Tamers and their families.

The Beast Tamers recovered quickly; after a hearty meal, they joined the rescue efforts.

By afternoon, nearly all the civilians had awakened.

When they saw each other again, it felt like waking from another lifetime—many embraced and wept!

Some stored grain was cleared out, and everyone ate a hot meal.

On the third day, Liu Mengyun removed the ice seal from the central district.

The Beast Tamers and civilians rescued yesterday joined the rescue teams one after another.

After five days, all the civilians of Mount Dajiao City had awakened.

At this point, Liu Mengyun had nearly fully recovered, and the ice remaining in Mount Dajiao City quickly melted into water under her control.

"Finally over!"

After completing this final step, Liu Mengyun too felt a great weight lift off her shoulders.

Seeing all this, An Hang looked at Liu Mengyun with deep admiration.

In this tsunami, Liu Mengyun's performance was flawless.

She didn't just save Mount Dajiao City—she saved every civilian and Beast Tamer inside it!

Thanks to her efforts, only ten civilians died in Mount Dajiao City!

Of these ten, five were elderly, frail, and near death.

Three civilian deaths resulted from military Beast Tamers breaking open the bomb shelters, leaking news of the tsunami, and triggering a stampede.

Another was a newborn infant who had a congenital heart defect and didn't survive.

One more was a critically ill patient lying in the hospital, beyond saving.

Strictly speaking, these ten civilian deaths could not be blamed on Liu Mengyun.
