Chapter 834

"If I push you out as a shield, will you hate me? If not for my luck, I'd be dead already!" the Raven of Misfortune shouted loudly, "My lord, this woman cannot be kept—she's a curse living beside you!"

Su Yang looked at Xia Na.

In truth, the Raven of Misfortune had a point.

This girl, Xia Na, was indeed ruthless.

When Xia Na met Su Yang's gaze, she immediately panicked.

If the Raven of Misfortune truly wished to serve Su Yang, then she seemed to have no purpose left.

Even without a pet contract, if a ferocious beast is willing, it can still serve humans!

But such cases are extremely rare; ordinary people who tame ferocious beasts are called Beast Tamer.

This profession grants no enhancement to the body's core; even the top Beast Tamers can only control two or three ferocious beasts, and their combat power is extremely limited!

Without a contract's binding, they cannot commune mentally with the beasts, and must always fear the beasts' backlash.

Xia Na was terrified that after gaining the Raven of Misfortune's allegiance, Su Yang would simply discard her!

Being silenced was not impossible.

After all, the allegiance of a god-tier potential Raven of Misfortune was far more tempting than her own Silver-rank Beast Tamer status!

Out here in the wilderness, if she were killed by a ferocious beast, who would ever know?

Even if someone suspected, no one would dare hold Su Yang accountable, would they?

Xia Na had endured countless hardships since childhood, wandering through major cities in the south and southeast, and had seen far too much darkness!

"My lord, I am willing to pledge my loyalty to you!" Xia Na hurriedly said, "Do anything you wish with me—please, don't abandon me!"

Su Yang looked at the Raven of Misfortune and said, "I don't trust ferocious beasts—I trust pet contracts. I don't believe you'll serve me sincerely; I only believe in the power of contracts. If you truly wish to serve me, don't break your bond with Xia Na!"

Su Yang was confident he could control Xia Na, but he had no confidence he could fully control a ferocious beast with fate-based abilities and god-tier growth potential!

If it truly defected from Xia Na's control, even if Su Yang later obtained a Forced Contract Scroll, he could never sign a contract with the Raven of Misfortune.

The Raven of Misfortune tilted its head and asked, "What if I break my bond with Xia Na?"

Clearly, the Raven of Misfortune hated Xia Na with a vengeance!

Minus ninety-nine loyalty? That's no joke!

PS: I wasn't feeling well yesterday, slept all afternoon, and when I got up at night, I thought I could write—but not only did my head ache, I felt nauseous. To be honest, since last December, I haven't taken much rest at all; sometimes I'm genuinely exhausted. Yesterday was my first time skipping an update—I'm sorry, everyone.
