Chapter 843: Unknown Force! The Fall of Pohai City! The Tournament Format Changes!

Su Yang and Liu Yun stood at the door of Qian Hailong's office, waiting for about seven minutes, before the office door was opened; Qian Hailong's adjutant hurriedly nodded at the two of them and trotted off.

"General Qian!" Liu Yun called out.

"Oh, you've arrived!"

General Qian's face still carried a look of anger, but upon seeing Liu Yun and Su Yang, his mood eased considerably.

"You both heard?"

"We heard!" Liu Yun nodded. "General Qian, what happened?"

Liu Yun was one of Qian Hailong's trusted confidants, and he was a little curious about this matter too.

These days, there weren't many things left that could make Qian Hailong angry.

"Pohai City was attacked!" Speaking of this, Qian Hailong's face was once again full of fury. "Over fifty thousand beast tamers and civilians in the city—not a single survivor left!"

"Ah?"

Even Su Yang, upon hearing this news, wore a look of utter astonishment.

Pohai City, in fact, like Mount Dajiao City, was one of the few coastal cities under the Southeast Military Department.

Pohai City's strength was in no way inferior to Mount Dajiao City's.

Perhaps only its high-end combat power was somewhat lacking.

Still, there should have been a King-Rank beast tamer stationed there.

Liu Yun quietly asked 04: "Was it sea beasts?"

Liu Yun's first reaction was sea beasts.

In the Southeast, although the Treasure Pavilion faintly carried the flavor of being evenly matched with the Southeast Military Department,

they would absolutely not dare to slaughter an entire city. This would violate the Federation's greatest taboo.

Throughout the entire Huaxia Federation, any individual or organization that dared to do such a thing would absolutely be rooted out and hunted to the death!

"It can be confirmed—it wasn't sea beasts!" Qian Hailong said with a dark expression. "The Worm Train captain who first discovered something was wrong with Pohai City did a rough inspection of the corpses at the scene; the corpses were all still there, and there were no signs of any sea beast activity. The killers who wiped out Pohai City weren't the work of one person—it was many beast tamers."

"The Treasure Pavilion?"

"It shouldn't be them!" Qian Hailong shook his head. "The people from the Treasure Pavilion were all dead too, not a single one spared. Besides, they wouldn't have the guts to do something like this—unless they're looking to die!"

"The Tianxing Society?"

"The Tianxing Society's forces in the Southeast aren't that strong either!" Qian Hailong said. "No matter who did this, they must all be wiped out. I'll dispatch the Emergency Brigade to act!"

Liu Yun said quietly: "General Qian, any force that dares to massacre a city shouldn't be an ordinary organization!"

Su Yang also knew that, within the Huaxia Federation, any force that dared to massacre a city was indeed no ordinary one!

In Huaxia's history, such ruthlessly insane organizations were extremely rare, and each and every one of them was overwhelmingly powerful.

Even the Shoushen Sect, which had ravaged the Northwest for a hundred years, had never massacred a city!

"I'll send more people…"

At this point, Qian Hailong's words came to an abrupt halt.

His brows were tightly knitted together.

"General Qian, what's wrong?"

"Available manpower… is a bit lacking!"

Liu Yun asked: "The Southeast Young Genius Beast Tamer Tournament?"

"Mm!" Qian Hailong nodded. "Many experts have been assigned by me to serve as referees!"

Qian Hailong had already regarded that unknown enemy as a major foe.

Pohai City, apart from a King-Rank city lord, also had several Star Glory-Rank and dozens of Platinum-Rank experts!

Yet, not a single one of them managed to escape.

An organization capable of annihilating Pohai City without anyone the wiser must possess extraordinary strength!

Qian Hailong roughly estimated that this operation would require at least Star Glory-Rank and Platinum-Rank experts, coordinated with at least two King-Rank powerhouses acting together, to be even slightly safe.

The Emergency Brigade's large numbers of Gold-Rank beast tamers would be of almost no use.

By the time they rushed over, everything would already be cold.

The trouble was, the Southeast differed from the Southwest Military Department where Su Yang had once been.

The Southeast Military Department's elite forces were more dispersed.

They needed to guard against attacks from sea beasts.

Apart from the Emergency Brigade, they also had some elite forces distributed among several coastal cities like Mount Dajiao City.

The few coastal cities were scattered along the Southeast's lengthy coastline.

They could only draw upon the elites within Pohai City to go.

The problem was, Qian Hailong had never in his wildest dreams imagined that an organization would dare to massacre a city!

He had arranged personnel for the tournament in advance.

Pulling these elite experts away at this moment would inevitably severely impact the tournament's progress!

The Southeast Young Genius Beast Tamer Tournament—among the younger generation, quite a few Gold-Rank beast tamers should have appeared as well.

To prevent casualties during the tournament, each arena required more than one referee.

And they needed Platinum-Rank, even Star Glory-Rank beast tamers to serve as referees!

Just as Qian Hailong and Liu Yun were racking their brains, the Emergency Brigade's deputy captain An Hang arrived.

Upon hearing Qian Hailong's intelligence, An Hang was likewise furious.

However, An Hang believed that Qian Hailong should at least send two or three King-Rank beast tamers to assist him.

An Hang had his own reasons:

"Pohai City's city lord Qiao Ai was, after all, a veteran King-Rank powerhouse. That King-Rank High-Grade Winged Sea Emperor Eagle of his is extremely fast—even I couldn't outrun him. If he had been determined to break out, just two King-Rank beast tamers probably wouldn't have been able to stop him… Apart from Qiao Ai, the other Star Glory-Rank beast tamers in Pohai City weren't weak either. To make it so none of them could escape, I worry the enemy has no small number of King-Rank beast tamers!"

The Southeast Army only has so many King-tier powerhouses.

They frequently interact and coordinate in combat operations.

They know each other's combat strength inside and out!
