Chapter 2128: Summit Battle 16

Seeing Mo Ling value spatial abilities highly, Ka Lian secretly breathed a sigh of relief, feeling her life was now safe.

She was afraid those strange "monkeys" wouldn't understand what she was saying.

"Miss Mo Ling, how would we describe the spatial ability we possess? It's not some technique or reliance on something, but rather a loophole... or perhaps a skill."

"I wouldn't dare hide anything from you; with this technique's help, theoretically the transmission distance is infinite!"

No longer so tense, as she spoke, Ka Lian couldn't help but flash a hint of pride in her eyes.

As expected, upon hearing the two words "infinite distance", Mo Ling was instantly stunned.

But soon, Mo Ling furrowed her brows, her tone tinged with doubt:

"Theoretically infinite transmission distance?"

"What's the principle? What's the cost? I don't believe that if you truly had this ability, you'd still be doing so poorly in reality."

"If one could transmit infinitely, ignoring distance, the entire universe would be yours."

"The Creator Alliance could never possess the ability Ka Lian described! Mo Ling clearly remembered that to reach the Star Brilliance Battlefield, they had to go through seven or eight transfer instances along the way. Such a time-consuming and labor-intensive method of movement shows no difference from most Fifth Stage civilizations."

Hearing Mo Ling's doubts, Ka Lian suddenly felt a twinge of displeasure. Especially since she could tell that Mo Ling and the others held the Creator Alliance in contempt!

"What a joke— a bunch of primitive civilization monkeys actually dare to look down on them!?"

However, no matter how upset she felt inside, Ka Lian dared not show it:

"Miss Mo Ling, your civilization may face crisis sooner, you've never seen true terror, and you don't know how strong the Alliance really is! In the surrounding star fields, we are practically the top..."

"Cut the nonsense— what's the principle and the cost?"

Without waiting for Ka Lian to explain, Mo Ling's eyes turned cold, and a frigid necromantic force directly enveloped her!

In an instant, the temperature plummeted! A layer of pallid frost instantly froze Ka Lian, causing her complexion to drastically change.

Having never encountered such eerie power, at this moment she felt as if her very soul were frozen solid!

Pain! Too painful!

It felt as if her life were being sucked out of her body by this cold!

"Ahhhh!!"

"Stop! Stop! I'll talk, I'll talk!"

Under the threat of death, the little schemes Ka Lian had harbored instantly vanished; she realized these monkeys had no intention of negotiating—they would really kill her if she didn't comply!

Damn it! These damned savages! Don't they still not grasp how important the secret she's speaking of is!

"It's about modifying information!"

"Our method of transmission is to modify an object's information!"

After shouting desperately, Ka Lian felt the force binding her lessen somewhat.

"Modify an object's information? What does that mean?"

Mo Ling, puzzled, frowned and asked, then waved her hand, reducing the necromantic force a bit.

Ka Lian gasped heavily, her whole body going limp as if she'd died; she simply couldn't fathom how a Fourth Stage could wield such power that restrained her so.

Not daring to think further, seeing that cold blue light flare again in Mo Ling's hand, she had to urgently explain:

"Miss Mo Ling! Give me time to explain!"

"You can understand it like this: every material object existing in the real world carries its own information! For example, the stone I hold in my hand—its weight, the molecules it's composed of, its temperature—all are part of the stone's intrinsic information!"

"Likewise, this information necessarily includes its current coordinates, even higher-dimensional time!"

"Weight, molecular formula, shape, formation time, the coordinates of its location—latitude and longitude—these data determine what it is: whether it's a stone on a battlefield or metal on some planet; they also determine that this information forms a unique 'label' for it."

As her words fell, Mo Ling blinked, suddenly seeming to think of something.

"Continue."

Faced with Mo Ling's urging, Ka Lian gave a wry smile and laboriously picked up a stone from the ground:

"Look at this stone; it's currently a whole piece, weighing about one kilogram."

"Well..."

Bang..!

After crushing the stone barehanded, Ka Lian turned her palm upward, letting the powdered stone scatter onto the ground.

"Look, the stone has turned to powder. According to the theory I just explained, has the stone's inherent information been altered as well?"

"Thus, by the same logic, an object's inherent information can be changed; if we reverse this line of thought, we could conclude that altering information might also alter matter itself."

Afraid Mo Ling wouldn't understand and thinking she was speaking nonsense, after finishing she intended to pick up another stone to demonstrate again.

However, contrary to her expectations, after listening, Mo Ling's gaze suddenly sharpened, and she outright stopped her:

"You mean..."

"Your method of transmission is simply to modify an object's current coordinates?"

"For example, if this stone's coordinates are 1.1.1, with the corresponding coordinates in your hand, changing them to 2.2.2 would make the stone instantly appear at ground coordinates 2.2.2?"

Ka Lian's heart jolted; although this line of reasoning wasn't hard to grasp, Mo Ling's reaction was still too quick.

"Yes... that's right. As long as we only modify the coordinates, we can send anything exactly as it is to any place. Theoretically, there's no more perfect method of transmission."

Ka Lian nodded instinctively; before she could say more, the next second she heard Mo Ling's stern question:

"No, if you can modify information, it's not just about transmission."

"According to what you're saying, you can modify coordinates, so why would you still be hunted? Just change your own information to Sixth Stage, even Seventh Stage! Even if you can't modify yourself, even altering the lowest-tier spiritual energy props would make you invincible!"

Using information modification to achieve transmission—this idea is indeed clever.

But to Mo Ling, it seemed utterly unreasonable to the extreme! If one could truly modify material information, it would be tantamount to possessing creative power!

Why risk life and limb, complete missions? Want something? Just modify it directly!

Seeing Mo Ling instantly spot the unreasonableness, Ka Lian wasn't panicked; she gave a wry smile and then straightforwardly explained:

"Miss Mo Ling, you're not wrong— theoretically we could obtain anything we want this way, but in practice we cannot."

「I'll put it this way, you should know that when any substance is changed, its own information will also be greatly altered. Just like water turning into water vapor, it's not just the temperature information that changes, but also the arrangement of molecules, the active orbits of atoms, volume, energy field, and so on, a huge amount of information! 」

「Then it's obvious that if we want to change a substance's information to turn it into something else, it's not just altering one piece of information, but we need to change countless pieces! 」

「In this process, even if a single piece of information is not modified correctly, we won't get what we want, and it could even bring about an unimaginable destructive disaster! 」

「After all, some 'things' may differ by only an atomic sequence between them, but the former is a gentle energy packet, while the latter is antimatter energy capable of destroying an entire star system! 」

Saying this, Ka Lian's eyes instantly flashed with a deep fear and unnaturalness.

Not daring to delay too long, Ka Lian took a deep breath and directly spoke the final conclusion.

「Therefore, the only thing we can modify is the coordinates, and we can only modify the coordinates. 」

「After all, whether a stone is moved from the left hand to the right hand, or from the sky to the ground, its own structure undergoes no change at all. 」
