Chapter 455: Stealing Heaven, Replacing the Sun

It's no wonder Lin An thinks that way.

Indeed, the way the Savior System distributes rewards is somewhat strange.

It carefully hid Cain's Blade inside the axe, as if afraid someone would discover it.

Moreover, it has a prior record.

If we consider the key that unlocks the gene lock as ours, it merely changed its method and took it back for itself.

Then Cain's Blade...

Lin An couldn't help but recall the global announcement just mentioned—the system reward referred to the blue equipment, the split giant axe.

Something's off, very off!

In my past life memory, the reward for being the first to establish a Safe Zone was only one piece of equipment, absolutely not this many rewards!

Given the system's stinginess, it's absolutely impossible to be this generous.

Fuck..

Couldn't help but blurt out a vulgarity.

Lin An instantly understood what had happened.

He certainly remembered this piece of equipment; this blue equipment also appeared in the Savior mission's rewards.

But that was the reward before increasing the difficulty.

The Savior's city-defense mission: Danger-level difficulty, reward blue equipment.

Horror-level difficulty, reward Epic Tier equipment.

Back then he hesitated for a long time before choosing to increase the difficulty.

So the Savior mission was just taking the system's stuff and giving it to himself!?

Moreover, in his memory, Lin An was quite sure that aside from the reward of one blue equipment, other rewards shouldn't exist.

The rewards have improved!

Chu An behind him seemed to sense Lin An's emotional fluctuation.

After the two quickly exchanged a few words, Colonel Chu fell silent for a moment, then strangely began discussing with him:

"Lin An, your guess should be correct."

"Based on the information you gave, this Cain's Blade and the other rewards are very likely stolen by the Savior System."

"I think it's probably like that..."

Chu An gave Lin An a half-smile, then slowly spoke his idea:

"I've actually wondered why our city-defense mission difficulty is so high."

"I initially thought... it was because you obtained the Doomsday Base Vehicle, causing the system to balance things by deliberately raising the mission difficulty."

"Although I've heard Zhang Tie and them say that you once accepted a mission from the Savior System."

"But it still feels too weird."

"However, combining the Savior System's way of sending rewards, everything makes sense."

After pondering for a moment, Chu An smiled.

"The Savior System is exploiting loopholes."

"It deliberately offers two vastly different reward options to tempt you into choosing higher difficulty."

"If you choose not to increase the difficulty, then the city-defense mission would probably be just like everyone else's, with nothing special."

"Likewise, the equipment reward you receive is just that axe mentioned in the system announcement."

"Blue equipment, useless."

"But once you choose to increase the difficulty."

"The Savior System can then exploit loopholes."

"I guess it deceived the system, using increased difficulty as an excuse, and \"stole\" Cain's Blade from the system's reward library."

Lin An's eyes flickered, and he nodded.

Exactly, he thought the same.

Put simply.

He had obtained very little equipment before, and before his rebirth he was also a low-level player.

His understanding of equipment rarity and strength was merely hearsay.

But in reality, every piece of equipment is quite useful.

Essentially, he truly hadn't realized how hard it is to obtain Epic Tier equipment.

Now thinking back, having experienced the terror of equipment.

Then...

Even though this city-defense mission's difficulty is high, it still doesn't deserve the reward of Epic Tier equipment.

Nor does it deserve the reputation and title rewards.

Just as in the global announcement, he "only deserves" to obtain blue equipment.

So the answer is begging to be heard.

The Savior System, again by exploiting loopholes, tricked the system out of Epic Tier equipment and other rewards.

Couldn't help but start speculating about the system's characteristics.

Lin An thought while speaking:

"I guess the system distributes rewards like this."

"It's rigid, mechanical."

"In plain terms, after a player completes a mission, they gain a value, which is equivalent to \"money\"."

According to the amount of "money", the system will give you the corresponding reward.

But money and money are different.

Just like yen and euro are the same.

Same face value, but the value is different.

Simply put... I'm wondering if the Savior System is exploiting loopholes like this.

Completing the system's city-defense task, the system gives me 100 yen, which is low value.

Aside from a blue equipment, nothing else.

Because the task's difficulty is worth that money.

But the Savior task's difficulty is a bit higher, equivalent to 100 euros.

Even if I complete both tasks at the same time...

Logically I should get 100 yen + 100 euros, but actually there's no loophole to exploit.

But, I guess the Savior System deliberately confuses the system's task with its own task!

The train of thought becomes clearer, Lin An can't help but admire the Savior System a bit.

"It cheated the system! It turned the system task's 100 yen reward into 100 euros!"

"Because both tasks are city-defense tasks! The task type is the same!"

"In the system's rigid judgment, it deemed one simple and one difficult task as the reward for two difficult tasks!"

"This way, I got a 200 euro reward!"

"Then, it uses this 200 euros to 'run to' the system reward library, exchanging for higher-value Epic Tier equipment, plus prestige reward and title!"

"To smoothly deliver it to my hand, it deliberately stuffed Cain's Blade into the blue equipment, deceiving the system's monitoring."

Crafty.. sly.

For a moment, the Savior System's originally mysterious image instantly turned in Lin An's mind into a thieving, mouse-eyed creature, a hamster stealing everywhere.

Milking the system, exploiting loopholes, not stopping until the Doomsday System is scammed to death...

Chu An nodded in agreement, then suddenly added a sentence:

"So..."

"So... your Doomsday Base Vehicle is something the Savior System stole by swiping some task reward?"

"Do you still remember when the Savior System, to help you conceal information, specially replaced the global first announcement?"

"So... the player who could have originally obtained the global first reward, is he..."

?!?

Lin An suddenly froze.

The two exchanged a glance, and for a moment they both felt a bit guilty.

That's right.

Judging by the current situation, the Savior System's rewards are all stolen.

That means the original task rewards are gone.

As expected, the player who previously obtained the first Second Level reward got nothing?

Think from another angle.

Obtaining the S-rank Prop Doomsday Base Vehicle, the required task is merely recruiting five team members, that simple.

Before, I didn't think there was anything.

But now thinking about it, the task difficulty is really too simple.

This means... the Doomsday Base Vehicle is very likely also something the Savior System stole by exploiting loopholes.

The actual difficulty of obtaining it should be extremely high.

At least it's national-level difficulty.

Thinking this way...

In the future, might a certain country mobilize its entire nation to desperately complete an S-rank task?

I originally thought I could obtain the Doomsday Base Vehicle.

As a result, when the reward was issued, there was nothing...

Too tragic...

With the thought of "may my fellow Daoist perish while I survive", Lin An merely felt a twinge of pity for a second for some future unlucky country, then didn't think further.

Can't wait.

After taking out the blue giant axe, Lin An somewhat excitedly gripped the handle, then decisively pulled out the long sword hidden in the axe shaft.

The system's prompt instantly came:

"Ding, obtained Epic Tier equipment 【Cain's Blade】!"
