Chapter 530: Mediterranean
Pushed by several armed personnel, Ye Su passed through several security doors and was shoved into a room.
A huge transparent glass pane divided the room in two. In the middle of the opposite side, a person sat in an office chair with their back to them. Ye Su curled his lip in disdain.
A person who hides their head and shows their tail, still trying to maintain a sense of mystery here. Aren't they going to turn around sooner or later? Putting on an act.
However, there was someone slumped on the ground here with their arms crossed. Ye Su looked closely—wasn't this George?
It looked like his arm had been broken. Perhaps due to the pain, he had sweated profusely, and his hair was stuck to his scalp. Now, his entire demeanor had collapsed; he was simply a different person from the high-spirited youth he had seen at the military camp earlier.
But George had nothing to do with him, so Ye Su couldn't be bothered to pay attention to him. He scanned the room, which was bare, not even having a place to sit.
At this time, the person in the chair opposite turned around and looked at them with contempt, saying:
"Well, anything to say?"
A Mediterranean-style bald man in his fifties. Ye Su had originally thought that someone maintaining mystery would at least be a sinister-looking middle-aged hunk.
But facts proved that ugly people make trouble. Turning around to reveal a "braised egg" was something Ye Su really hadn't expected. Looking at that reflective scalp, Ye Su curled his lip and said:
"You're doing pretty poorly. Before asking for favors, never mind cigarettes, alcohol, or tea; you don't even have a table or chair. You're so stingy, who would pay attention to you!"
George, who had already been in despair, couldn't close his mouth upon hearing Ye Su's shocking remarks. Clearly, they had infiltrated and been caught, and their lives were in the other party's hands—why were you acting like nothing happened?
The Mediterranean man opposite was also furious. He slapped the chair and stood up, strode to the glass window, and glared at Ye Su, saying:
"Please take your attitude seriously and honestly explain the forces behind you and your purpose."
Ye Su laughed, "My attitude is very good. It's your attitude that's terrible. We two were sent by the President, and you don't even mention hospitality, but instead, you lock us up."
"Nonsense. Do you think I'll believe what you say?"
Ye Su smiled and pointed at George, saying, "The Bard family member is right here. If you ask him, won't you know? We were indeed sent by the President; otherwise, do you think we would be this bold?"
The Mediterranean man scratched his few remaining hairs. Looking at Ye Su's fearless behavior, he actually believed it a little, still hesitating whether to confirm it.
Just then, George looked at Ye Su in shock and asked foolishly:
"Ye Su, were you really sent by the President?"
George immediately thought of his previous guess. Ye Su seemed to be an esper who had fled to the base; he didn't look like someone sent by the President at all.
Seeing this, Ye Su thought to himself, "Pig teammate!"
Usually, George seemed so smart; why was he so muddled at a time like this?
So he said irritably, "Sent by my ass!"
When the Mediterranean man heard George's question, he realized that the two were not sent by the President at all; he had been tricked.
George was distracted by his arm, and only then did he understand, unable to help but show a shameful expression toward Ye Su.
Ye Su, however, looked indifferent. He hadn't expected the Mediterranean man to believe him anyway; he was just saying it for fun. Seeing the Mediterranean man angrily slapping the glass, it was clear he believed it.
Ye Su walked quickly to the Mediterranean man and raised his fist to smash it toward the "braised egg."
The fist magnified rapidly before his eyes, directly scaring the Mediterranean man into scurrying away while covering his head.
Ye Su laughed out loud. The Mediterranean man was directly enraged by shame and shouted:
"I'll let you laugh enough!"
As he spoke, he didn't know what he pressed on the control button, and Ye Su heard a hissing sound of gas; clearly, some gas had been injected.
Ye Su directly held his breath. On the contrary, George, who was next to him, smelled a trace of the gas and began to laugh wildly.
Gradually, George could no longer care about the pain in his arm, clutching his stomach and laughing until he finally lay limply on the ground, his whole body convulsing, and tears streaming from his eyes.
The Mediterranean man looked at Ye Su, who was completely fine. If it weren't for George slumped on the ground, he would have thought he had pressed the wrong button.
Now he only suspected that the two were not in the same space. At this moment, the Mediterranean man suddenly exclaimed, "Esper! You are an esper!"
In the Mediterranean man's view, this kind of supernatural phenomenon was only possible for the espers in the research institute.
Ye Su smiled and looked at the Mediterranean man, saying faintly:
"Esper, I suppose so!"
Seeing the Mediterranean man's appearance, Ye Su decided not to play anymore.
So he began to hammer at the glass in front of him, but after one punch, it didn't move at all. Ye Su frowned and looked at the glass in front of him; he clearly hadn't expected it to be so hard.
Seeing this scene, the Mediterranean man wiped the cold sweat from his head and laughed wildly, "Didn't expect it, did you? This glass is the latest product researched based on alien warship portholes. It's not even afraid of artillery fire. Even if you are an esper, so what? You're just a toy in my hands."
Watching Ye Su frantically hammering the glass in front of him, the Mediterranean man felt an indescribable pleasure.
