Chapter 344

For a long time.

He calmed his excited mood and looked at the people of the Research Institute again.

Said in a deep voice: "Talents like Shen Lian should not be buried in the marketplace, and even less should they be reduced to captive status!"

"Transmit my decree, specially recruit Shen Lian into the Great Yan Research Institute, responsible for the thousand-mile voice transmission research project!"

"In addition, exempt Shen Lian from captive status, grant Shen Lian the status of a Great Yan citizen; such a talent should be treated as a national scholar!"

Besides these.

Yan also gave many rewards, fields, houses, money, titles, etc.

All kinds of favors were bestowed.

……

Southern City.

At the construction site.

Shen Lian was performing daily labor with his cultivator companions.

His heart was constantly thinking about how to perfect sound transmission.

At this moment.

The imperial decree arrived.

At the construction site, the Great Yan army knelt down with pious faces.

And the other low-rank transcendents did not dare to be slow.

Hurriedly lowered their heads and knelt on the ground.

"By the decree of His Majesty, Shen Lian has studied diligently, researched science, and made huge contributions; it is beneficial to the country and the people, and he should be treated as a national scholar!"

"Specially recruit Shen Lian into the Research Institute, specifically responsible for thousand-mile voice transmission matters, exempt him from captive status, and promote him to a Great Yan citizen..."

In the imperial decree.

Various rewards and prizes were listed.

Shen Lian slowly raised his head.

Listening to this astonishing reward.

Showed an expression of disbelief.

He had fantasized that he might be exempted from captive status.

But never dared to hope...

That he could enter the Great Yan Research Institute!

You must know.

The Great Yan Research Institute is the most noble place in the Great Yan Kingdom.

It gathers the top talents of Great Yan.

A place countless people dream of entering!

"Shen... Shen Lian kowtows to thank His Majesty for his heavenly grace!"

For a time.

Shen Lian wept, tears streaming down his face.

This year, he is already over forty years old.

After the cultivation world was destroyed.

Like the other two hundred thousand cultivators, he was captured and brought to Great Yan.

Working diligently every day.

Never thought that one day, he would be specially recruited into the Great Yan Research Institute!

And the low-rank transcendents on the side...

Also looked at this imperial decree with shock.

Shen Lian, who had always been ridiculed by them, actually turned the tables and directly got rid of his captive status!

Getting rid of captive status meant that Shen Lian would not need to serve labor in the future.

And could enjoy the same rights as Great Yan people in all fields!

The news of Shen Lian's special recruitment quickly spread throughout Great Yan.

Throughout the country.

Three hundred million people knew that there was a cultivator named Shen Lian who was honored as a national scholar by the great Majesty because of his research on thousand-mile voice transmission!

And he was exempted from captive status and specially recruited into the Research Institute!

Because of Shen Lian.

Unknowingly.

It triggered another wave of scientific research throughout the world.

Science is what the Great Yan Kingdom has always admired the most!

Those low-rank transcendents, encouraged by Shen Lian as a role model...

Abandoned their respective transcendent powers one after another.

And embarked on the path of scientific research.

……

Great Yan Calendar Year 79.

Great Yan Research Institute.

This is the second year since Shen Lian was specially recruited into the Research Institute.

During this time.

Shen Lian made persistent efforts and perfected the voice transmission device generation by generation.

Produced the initial versions of the telegraph and telephone.

The telegraph can compile text into currents of various frequencies through the current frequency inside the electric wire, thereby sending it to the distance.

The distance then restores these frequencies into text according to special rules!

This fast text transmission method quickly attracted Yan's attention.

Because...

Once it is applied on a large scale, there will be no need for messengers to travel specifically for long-distance communication in the future.

With one telegraph, the entire Great Yan Kingdom can know the political decrees issued by the palace in an instant.

It can greatly integrate administrative efficiency and improve office and construction speed.

And the telephone...

Is the optimal version of thousand-mile voice transmission.

Converting sound into different current sounds and transmitting them to the distance can realize real-time barrier-free communication!

However...

Proceeding to this step, the Research Institute soon encountered a bottleneck.

Shen Lian knelt before Yan.

Looking at the old and majestic old man in front, he smiled bitterly and said: "Your Majesty, the power of lightning is limited; even if stored in large quantities, wanting to supply the whole country..."

Now there is indeed a major breakthrough in thousand-mile voice transmission.

But...

Fundamentally, it cannot be popularized.

Electric wires can be laid.

But without lightning as a carrier, sound and text cannot be transmitted quickly at all.

And lightning...

Is not available every day, and the quantity is limited.

The area of Great Yan is extremely vast, and wanting to cover the whole country is basically unrealistic.

"The only way now, the best method, is... artificial electricity generation!"

Finally.

Shen Lian said his long-held idea.
