Chapter 321: Being hungry was already annoying enough

~7 min read 1,384 words

The dim yellow lamp lit up a corner, the atmosphere in the room humid and ambiguous.

The sounds of carnal pleasure between a man and a woman were faintly intertwined...

Then, they suddenly came to an abrupt halt.

"What's wrong? Does it hurt?"

Tang Song lowered his head, puzzled, looking at the person in his arms with a flushed face.

Shen Ci pressed her small hands against Tang Song's chest in a gesture of restraint, and only after catching her breath did she say, "Something's not right."

Tang Song knit his handsome brows, seemingly not understanding: "What's not right?"

"The tactile sensation isn't right!" Shen Ci said, putting force into her hands to push the still-bewildered Tang Song off her body.

Before Tang Song could speak, her hand reached out instinctively. Tang Song blinked blankly but did not stop her: "Baby?"

It wasn't until Shen Ci struggled to take the "thing" off and held it up before their eyes.

Tang Song then realized: "It broke?"

"Didn't you feel it?" Shen Ci looked at him.

Tang Song felt a sudden pang of guilt and touched her face: "I really didn't feel it; I was too immersed. Was I too rough? I didn't make you uncomfortable, did I?"

Seeing his nervous appearance, Shen Ci couldn't help but laugh, rubbing the stubble on his chin with her fingertips: "Not at all."

Tang Song lowered his head and took her small thumb into his mouth, teasing it a few times.

"I haven't seen you for quite a few days, I missed you like crazy. My 'public grain' has been piling up; I haven't solved it myself even once."

"Who asked you?" Shen Ci blushed upon hearing this: "You're so serious when you wear your police uniform, yet you speak such filth in private with me."

Tang Song laughed upon hearing this: "If I don't say it to you, who would I say it to? I'd like to say it to others, but I'm afraid they'd call me a hooligan."

"And it's not being a hooligan when you're with me?"

"Of course not. You were the one who started it; I call this serving the people!"

As he spoke, Tang Song flipped over and pressed down on her again. Shen Ci hurriedly called out: "Hey, wear..."

The rest of the word was swallowed by Tang Song's lips as he pressed them against hers.

Two hours later...

Listening to the sound of running water in the bathroom, Shen Ci leaned against the headboard to rest. The time pointed to seven in the evening, and her stomach began to growl.

The phone suddenly rang.

It was Dang Ning.

"Shen Ci, Ji Yongxiu is currently trapped on the hotel bed wearing only his underwear. I have already left."

"Good, thank you for your hard work. Pack your things and move out of the apartment he rented for you tonight."

"Shen Ci, about the study abroad matter..."

"Don't worry. Once the good show concludes tomorrow, I will meet you separately. We can discuss the study abroad matter further then. I will definitely do my best regarding what I promised you."

"Okay, I'll wait for your call."

Hanging up the phone, Tang Song came out of the bathroom, wiping his hair: "Are you hungry?"

Shen Ci nodded pitifully: "Didn't you say you'd take me out for dinner when you picked me up at school?"

How did they end up at the apartment?

Tang Song revealed a wicked smile: "You're hungry, and I'm hungry too!"

"Are we talking about the same kind of hunger?"

Tang Song walked over and lifted the quilt, picking Shen Ci up in a princess carry, which drew a shriek from her. He said while walking toward the bathroom: "It's all eating anyway, so it counts as the same thing."

"I haven't been home for too long, there's nothing here. Take a shower and we'll go out to eat."

A high-end shopping mall near the apartment.

Having not eaten dinner and then doing two or three hours of "aerobic exercise," Shen Ci was truly so hungry she felt like her chest was touching her back. She wanted to eat everything she saw.

"Sir, there are sixteen tables ahead. The estimated wait time is forty minutes."

The waiter at the entrance of the barbecue restaurant said to Tang Song.

Tang Song looked at Shen Ci: "I remember you said you wanted barbecue a couple of days ago. Shall we wait? Or should we change to another place?"

"Anything is fine, I'm starving." Shen Ci gave up resistance, wanting only to eat immediately.

The two took the elevator to the sixth floor, only to bump into an acquaintance at a corner.

Neither seemed to have expected it, so when their eyes met, Shen Ci was stunned herself.

It was Xia Weiwei!

Xia Weiwei also seemed not to have expected to meet Shen Ci again in such an unprepared situation. Since the scene she caused at the class reunion in Shengang during the Spring Festival, the two had not had any interaction.

But they both knew they hadn't blocked or even hidden each other, because they could still occasionally see each other's social media posts.

Regaining her senses, Shen Ci wanted to pretend not to know her and step aside to leave, but Xia Weiwei suddenly greeted her with a look of surprise: "A-Ci? What a coincidence, to run into you here!"

Her attitude was so enthusiastic and her tone so intimate that it seemed she had completely forgotten everything that happened at the class reunion. To others, the two still appeared to be close friends.

Shen Ci frowned slightly. Before she could respond, Xia Weiwei's gaze had already fallen on Tang Song.

She had seen photos of Tang Song. When they met at a coffee shop during the Spring Festival, Shen Ci had shown her a photo of her boyfriend; it was this very person.

Tall and handsome, even better-looking than in the photo.

"You must be A-Ci's boyfriend, right? I've seen your photo!" Xia Weiwei introduced herself to Tang Song with the enthusiasm of loving the house and its crow: "My name is Xia Weiwei, I'm A-Ci's high school classmate."

Tang Song was a bit confused by the suddenly appearing and inexplicably enthusiastic Xia Weiwei, but since she said A-Ci had shown her his photo, he subconsciously assumed her relationship with A-Ci must be good.

So, out of politeness, Tang Song nodded with a smile and responded: "Hello."

He turned his head to look at A-Ci beside him, only to see her expression was cold, forming a sharp contrast to the other person's warm attitude.

"A-Ci, I've been wanting to find an opportunity to apologize and explain to you about last time." Xia Weiwei suddenly dropped her smile, her tone humble: "You really misunderstood me about the class reunion. I absolutely did not mean to make you look bad or watch you make a fool of yourself."

"We were best friends for three years in high school, how could I possibly do such a thing? You really have to believe me."

Impatience appeared on Shen Ci's face.

Being hungry was already annoying enough.

"None of it matters. When I left the private room that day, I had already left those rotten things behind in that room."

Sensing the distance in Shen Ci's tone, Xia Weiwei's expression was a bit awkward, yet she still put on a pitiful appearance: "Then don't be angry with me, okay? I don't want to lose you as a friend."

Just as Shen Ci was about to speak, a handsome-looking boy ran over.

He clearly didn't know what had happened. He came up and intimately wrapped his arm around Xia Weiwei's shoulder, looking at Shen Ci and Tang Song with curiosity: "Weiwei, are these your friends? You have friends you know in Longcheng?"

"They are my high school classmates, and my best friend, Shen Ci!"

Xia Weiwei introduced them on her own: "This is my boyfriend, Wen Kai, from Renmin University. I came here specifically to see him."

Tang Song saw that A-Ci didn't really want to chat with this old friend, so he spoke up first: "We're in a rush to eat, so we'll be going."
