Chapter 483: Couple check-in activity
At the coffee shop, Shen Xing sat by the window, his gaze fixed on the main road outside.
It wasn't until Sang Hui's figure appeared that his eyes lit up with color, and he hurriedly stood up and ran out.
"Sang Hui!"
Sang Hui was looking down, her mind still replaying what had happened at the bus stop. Hearing the voice, she looked up, saw Shen Xing, and gave a slight smile, waving her hand as her pace quickened.
As she approached, Shen Xing suppressed the joy in his heart and tried to keep his tone natural: "It's past nine; the aquarium should be open. But I ordered coffee; shall we finish it before we go?"
"Okay, I happen to be a bit thirsty."
"Did you eat anything this morning? I just saw that this shop has sandwiches."
"I've already eaten."
Shen Xing nodded, and the two entered the shop and returned to their seats.
Shen Xing was wearing gray shorts today, and his top was a well-cut, milky-white plain T-shirt. It looked plain, but both pieces were from independent designer brands, bought for him by Shen Ci.
Even the shoes on his feet weren't cheap.
Sang Hui didn't know that; she just thought Shen Xing knew how to dress well, so she instinctively complimented him: "This outfit is quite nice, very minimalist."
"Really? My sister bought this for me." Shen Xing smiled and looked down at his clothes, thinking to himself that women's taste was indeed similar—at first, he had thought the clothes didn't even have a pattern and looked like pajamas.
"You have a sister?" Sang Hui asked with a slightly surprised expression.
"Two. I have two older sisters."
Sang Hui was even more shocked. In their generation, families with two children were already a minority; she hadn't expected Shen Xing's family to have three children.
"Sang Hui, you're from Longcheng. Have you been to this aquarium before?"
Sang Hui was stunned upon hearing this and took the opportunity to take a sip of coffee.
She had been, and she had just gone with her roommates yesterday.
She put down the coffee and shook her head gently at Shen Xing: "No, I haven't. There used to be an old aquarium in Longcheng that I went to when I was little, but this one is newly built, and I haven't had a chance to visit yet. So when you said you wanted to check out the aquarium together that day, I agreed."
Hearing this, Shen Xing was even happier. It was only fresh if both of them were visiting for the first time.
And it meant his decision was correct; it was clear Sang Hui was also interested, which was why she had agreed.
"Hello, handsome and beautiful."
Just then, a staff member in a uniform suddenly walked over, holding a sign: "Sorry to bother you, but we currently have a couple's check-in activity in the shop. If you take a photo together at your seat using our Polaroid and stick it on our photo wall, you can get two free scoops of ice cream. Would the two of you like to participate?"
"Uh..." The staff member's question was abrupt. Shen Xing opened his mouth, not knowing how to respond for a moment.
But Sang Hui nodded without hesitation: "Sure! Can we choose the flavors?"
"Yes, we have strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, and passion fruit."
"Then I want strawberry. Shen Xing, what flavor do you want?" Sang Hui asked, looking at Shen Xing.
Shen Xing was still out of it. Had Sang Hui just agreed to participate in the shop's couple's check-in activity?
"I... I'll have vanilla," he replied with a dazed look.
Seeing his expression, Sang Hui couldn't help but purse her lips and smile; he was quite cute.
"Should I take the photo for you two, or do you want to take a selfie?" the staff member asked understandingly.
"We'll take a selfie!" Sang Hui said, taking the Polaroid from the staff member and standing up to call Shen Xing to stand with her: "You have long arms; you take it."
Shen Xing hurriedly put down his things and stood up, carefully leaning toward Sang Hui. She had a faint scent of laundry detergent on her, very fresh and pleasant.
Sang Hui tilted her head slightly toward Shen Xing's shoulder. Although they weren't touching, the atmosphere of the composition was instantly created, paired with her natural camera presence and infectious smile.
Shen Xing pressed the shutter, and the photo was soon printed out from the Polaroid.
Sang Hui couldn't wait to pick it up and shake it. It wasn't until the images of the two became clear that Sang Hui realized Shen Xing was smiling in a silly and stiff way, and she couldn't help but tease: "Shen Xing, you're so silly!"
Shen Xing looked at her lively and mischievous appearance and said softly: "As long as you look good, it's fine."
Sang Hui paused, then turned to look at him with a smile: "Shall we go stick it up?"
Shen Xing nodded.
Arriving at the photo wall in the shop, it was indeed a couple's check-in activity. All the photos on it were of two people, mostly one man and one woman, but there were also two girls and two boys. Some could tell at a glance that they were also couples.
Now that they had to stick their photo in the middle, Shen Xing was a bit nervous.
Sang Hui said: "It's fine, good friends can take photos together too. Some people on here might not even be a couple anymore. We're just taking advantage of the shop's offer, don't think too much about it."
"Okay, let's stick it in the middle!" Shen Xing said, sticking their photo right in the middle of the photo wall.
Then he took out his phone and took a second photo of their photo to save it. This was his first photo with Sang Hui, so of course he had to keep it.
"What are you doing?" Sang Hui looked at him, confused.
Shen Xing put his phone away, satisfied: "Just keeping a memento."
"We'll take more when we get into the aquarium later. I heard it's very photogenic inside."
She had taken a lot with her roommates yesterday, and it was indeed very photogenic.
Hearing this, Shen Xing's eyes lit up with joy: "Okay! I brought my camera."
He hadn't learned anything else from Tan Yong, but he had grasped the fact that girls love taking photos, so he had come prepared with his camera.
After eating the ice cream, the two left the coffee shop. It was already past ten, and the morning sun was starting to become scorching. Sang Hui instinctively raised her hand to cover her forehead, and the next second, she felt a shadow over her head, and her whole person was covered in the shade.
She looked up in surprise and found that Shen Xing had already opened an umbrella for her.
"It's hot; it's easy to get tanned," Shen Xing's voice followed immediately.
Sang Hui smiled and turned to look at him: "Thank you."
The two arrived at the ticket office at the entrance of the aquarium, and Shen Xing took the initiative to go up and buy tickets: "Hello, two student tickets."
"Shen Xing, I think I forgot to bring my student ID!" Sang Hui tugged on Shen Xing's clothes, looking apologetic.
Shen Xing was also rummaging through his bag, then blinked in confusion: "I think I forgot mine too."
Sang Hui couldn't help but laugh and reminded Shen Xing: "Let's do a group purchase; there are adult couple tickets, they aren't much more expensive than student tickets."
As it turned out, the ticket seller at the window seemed to have heard their conversation and immediately gave a kind reminder: "There are also couple tickets, which are cheaper than adult packages."
