Chapter 609: Stinky

~7 min read 1,318 words

The girl he should cherish well...

Shen Xing lowered his eyes and smiled, a smile that held some hidden meaning.

But soon he raised his head again to look at his sister and nodded gently: "I will, Sister."

At the very least, he had been wholehearted when he liked the other person; that the two of them didn't end up together wasn't the fault of either side—it was simply a multiple-choice question.

He hoped she hadn't chosen wrong.

Longcheng University, female dormitory.

"Sang Hui?"

A soft call rang out, accompanied by a tap on her shoulder. Only then did Sang Hui, who was sitting in her chair, turn her head, looking at her roommate with a dazed expression: "Huh?"

The roommate looked worried: "What's wrong with you? I called you several times and you didn't react. Are you not feeling well?"

Sang Hui shook her head, revealing a smile that showed a hint of fatigue: "I'm fine, I was just thinking about something."

"Did you have a fight with your boyfriend?" The roommate pulled over a chair and sat down beside her, asking with concern: "I feel like I haven't seen him come to pick you up for a while. Weren't you two dating frequently before?"

Mentioning Guo Yu, Sang Hui's expression changed noticeably. She said in a low voice: "He hasn't been at school lately; he's sick and recuperating at home."

"Is that so?" The roommate looked enlightened: "So you're absent-minded because you're worried about him? How about I go with you to see him?"

Sang Hui shook her head, smiling bitterly: "No need."

She had already suggested going to see him to Guo Yu, but Guo Yu hadn't agreed.

Just then, another roommate returned from outside. Seeing Sang Hui in the dorm, she subconsciously blurted out: "Sang Hui, I just ran into your boyfriend at the cafeteria!"

Sang Hui was stunned, and the roommate beside her was also stunned, subconsciously blinking at Sang Hui.

"You saw Guo Yu at the cafeteria?"

That person stood at the door, feeling a bit awkward, not knowing how to answer for a moment: "Why do you all have that expression? Can't I run into him at the cafeteria?"

"That's not what Sang Hui meant. Are you sure the person you met at the cafeteria was Sang Hui's boyfriend?"

The roommate nodded gently, looking at Sang Hui and asking tentatively, unsure: "You haven't swapped, right? It's still Guo Yu, isn't it?"

"It's him!"

Getting a definite answer, the roommate immediately affirmed: "Then there's no mistake, that's exactly who I met!"

Hearing this, Sang Hui immediately grabbed her coat and walked out, leaving the two roommates staring at each other.

"What's up?"

"Not sure, but it seems the two of them haven't seen each other for several days."

"Should we follow and see?"

"Forget it, with Sang Hui's personality, she'll handle it herself."

With that said, the two stopped gossiping, though in the hearts of the roommates, Guo Yu's score was still quite high.

Sang Hui sprinted all the way to the restaurant, only to run into Guo Yu and two classmates walking out together just as she reached the entrance.

"Guo Yu!"

Sang Hui stopped, panting slightly as she called out.

Guo Yu and the others looked over upon hearing the sound. Seeing it was Sang Hui, the two friends tactfully greeted Guo Yu and left.

Guo Yu looked at Sang Hui with a smile, walked up, and reached out to hug her.

Sang Hui, however, dodged to the side and took two steps back.

Guo Yu's hugging motion froze. He looked at Sang Hui, puzzled, and asked: "What's wrong?"

"Why didn't you tell me when you came back to school?" Sang Hui was very angry inside, but she still restrained herself, keeping her voice as natural as possible: "My roommate knew you were back before I did!"

"I didn't mean to hide it from you; I was just about to go find you." Guo Yu said, taking a step forward to close the distance between them: "I haven't seen you for several days, I've missed you."

As he spoke, he reached out to hug Sang Hui again. This time, Sang Hui didn't dodge, letting Guo Yu pull her into his embrace.

"Cough, cough..."

Because her breathing from running all the way here hadn't fully calmed down, as soon as Sang Hui pressed against Guo Yu, she inhaled a pungent scent of perfume into her nasal cavity.

It choked her, causing her to cough violently.

"Are you okay, baby?" Guo Yu patted her back.

Sang Hui waved her hand while coughing: "I'm fine. You sprayed way too much perfume today; the smell is a bit heavy."

She didn't think much of it and just blurted it out.

A flash of unnaturalness crossed Guo Yu's face, but he then feigned ignorance: "Really? It's a new perfume I bought. I didn't expect the base notes to be so strong. I didn't get the dosage right; I'll be careful next time."

The truth was, ever since the last time he had lost control of his bowels, Guo Yu had developed something like psychological post-traumatic stress; he always felt like he smelled, which was why he sprayed perfume frantically whenever he went out.

Sang Hui adjusted, still looking at Guo Yu with some dissatisfaction: "Since you said you missed me, why didn't you let me come see you?"

"Oh, I bumped my head and it swelled up into a big lump, it's so ugly!" Guo Yu put on a pitiful expression, grabbing Sang Hui's hand and placing it on his forehead: "Feel it, it hasn't fully gone down yet. I was just afraid you'd feel bad for me, you know?"

When it came to dealing with girls, Guo Yu was naturally adept.

With just a little bit of acting spoiled like this, a few words were enough to dissipate most of the anger in Sang Hui's heart.

Feeling that the swelling on Guo Yu's forehead really hadn't fully subsided, she knew he wasn't lying, so she said with heartache: "I'm your girlfriend, how could I dislike you for being ugly because you got hurt? Don't do that next time."

"Okay." Guo Yu smiled and took her hand, asking: "Have you eaten? Hubby will take you to have a big meal!"

"Don't go to the trouble. Just accompany me to the cafeteria to eat a little. I have a dance class in an hour, and you can take me there then."

"Okay." Guo Yu said, leaning in to rub against Sang Hui, asking in a low voice by her ear: "Then let's go stay outside tonight, shall we? You've missed me, haven't you?"

Sang Hui's face turned red instantly, and she glared at him: "You just recovered from being sick, let's wait a while."

"I'm already better, and besides, I've missed you too, okay?"

Unable to resist Guo Yu's soft persistence, Sang Hui nodded shyly.

The two walked hand-in-hand into the cafeteria, where Guo Yu went to buy Sang Hui a portion of braised pork rice and added a side of braised dishes.

Sang Hui took two bites and suddenly stopped. She sniffed slightly, sensing a sour, foul odor lingering in the air.

"What's wrong?" Guo Yu asked subconsciously.

"There's a stinky smell," Sang Hui stated truthfully.

The word "stinky" was like a leaking electric baton, giving Guo Yu goosebumps all over.

Almost subconsciously, he turned his head and sniffed his own shoulder. Whether it was psychological or not, he really felt there was a foul odor.

He smelled!

Seeing this action, Sang Hui couldn't help but laugh: "Why are you sniffing yourself? It definitely can't be the smell on you!"

As she spoke, she picked up a piece of braised dried tofu and sniffed it, her brows instantly knitting together: "Ugh, the braised food has gone bad, it's sour and rotten!" ===== CHAPTER 610 =====
