Chapter 63: Killing Wang Jie

~6 min read 1,086 words

“Follow the plan.”

Jiang Xia said to Wang Teng, then threw a Flying Thunder God kunai and vanished in a blur, dashing toward the Shadow Panther.

The Shadow Panther turned instantly and lunged at Jiang Xia, its claws slicing through the air with a toxic aura.

Jiang Xia’s Flying Thunder God technique activated instantly; his body became a golden lightning bolt, appearing behind the Shadow Panther at the kunai’s location.

His right hand condensed a Chidori and slammed hard against the Shadow Panther’s back.

The Shadow Panther screamed in pain, spun around, and swiped at Jiang Xia with its paw.

At that moment, Wang Teng’s spell activated: “Fengdu Secret Spell · Mingguan !”

A massive black coffin suddenly descended from the sky, trapping the Shadow Panther inside. Its surface was covered in intricate spell patterns, radiating overwhelming suppression.

“Did it work?”

Wang Teng was about to rejoice when he heard a sharp crack—a fissure appeared on the black coffin.

The crack widened rapidly until the coffin shattered violently, and the Shadow Panther burst out, its aura more frenzied than before.

“Damn, this thing’s attack power is insane,” Wang Teng muttered.

Jiang Xia’s eyes darkened, and his Susanoo—Yatagarasu form—activated instantly.

A massive blue skeletal frame emerged from his body, wielding a gourd sword, radiating immense pressure.

The Shadow Panther felt the pressure and grew even more frenzied, charging at Jiang Xia with wild intensity.

Jiang Xia manipulated the Susanoo and swung the Tenken Sword; a colossal blue sword slash roared toward the Shadow Panther.

“Fengdu Secret Spell · Huangquan Chains!”

The Shadow Panther tried to dodge, but Wang Teng locked it in place—there was no escape.

The sword slash struck it hard, exploding with a thunderous crash; instantly, the Shadow Panther was sealed into the gourd along with the blade’s energy.

After eliminating the Shadow Panther, Jiang Xia dismissed the Susanoo, his expression unchanged.

With his Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan, using such a powerful ninjutsu now consumed far less of his chakra than before.

Wang Teng walked over and slapped his shoulder: “Not bad, Lao Xia—this move was still awesome.”

Jiang Xia smiled, about to speak, when footsteps echoed from afar.

Both instantly went on alert, gripping their weapons. A group of men in black clothing emerged from the mist.

At their head was a tall man with a grotesque scar across his face.

“Didn’t expect the Night Watchers to move so fast—already took down a Wang Jie Shadow Panther.”

The scarred man sneered, his gaze sweeping over Jiang Xia and Wang Teng. “But Itachi won’t be leaving tonight.”

“Itachi’re from the Black Crows?” Jiang Xia asked coldly.

“Since Itachi know, then surrender peacefully.”

The scarred man waved his hand; his men surged forward, all armed with spirit-energy weapons, muzzles glowing with danger.

Wang Teng scoffed: “Itachi guys are just trash—think Itachi can stop us?”

“Fengdu Secret Spell · Hundred Ghosts’ Night March!”

He formed a hand seal; countless ghostly shadows erupted from his palm, raining down on the Black Crows.

The Black Crows opened fire; spirit-energy bullets collided with the ghosts, triggering a series of explosions.

Jiang Xia activated the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique, instantly creating three clones who charged at the Black Crows.

The clones wielded kunai, moving nimbly and striking relentlessly.

Though outnumbered, the Black Crows were quickly overwhelmed by Jiang Xia and Wang Teng’s combined assault.

Seeing this, the scarred man’s face darkened. He pulled a massive spirit-energy rifle from his waist and aimed it at Jiang Xia.

“Die!” He pulled the trigger; a colossal energy beam roared toward Jiang Xia.

Jiang Xia’s eyes narrowed; his Kamui Sharingan activated again, his body phasing out of existence to evade the blast.

In the next instant, he appeared before the scarred man, his right hand Ningju a Chidori and slammed it into the man’s chest.

The scarred man had no time to react—he was struck, spat blood, and flew backward, crashing heavily to the ground.

“Where is your Black Crows’ secret warehouse?” Jiang Xia stepped forward, voice icy.

The scarred man sneered: “To learn the warehouse’s location, Itachi’ll have to kill me.”

As he spoke, he spat a jet of black liquid—his body swelled instantly.

“No! He’s going to self-destruct!” Wang Teng shouted, yanking Jiang Xia back.

Jiang Xia reacted immediately, activating the Susanoo to shield them both.

The next second, the scarred man’s body exploded violently; the shockwave shattered surrounding trees.

Cracks appeared across the Susanoo’s skeletal frame, but it held—successfully protecting Jiang Xia and Wang Teng.

After the explosion, the scene was in ruins. Jiang Xia and Wang Teng stepped out of the Susanoo, their faces grim.

“That guy was really ruthless,” Wang Teng said.

Jiang Xia nodded, scanning the area—he saw all the Black Crows were dead, no survivors left.

“So we won’t get the warehouse location from them.”

“Then what do we do next?” Wang Teng asked.

Jiang Xia paused, then said: “We return to base, report this to Captain Li, then figure out how to investigate the Black Crows’ secret warehouse.”

The two returned to their guide, left the Mist Forest, and headed back to Jiangcheng Night Watcher Base.

Li Da rushed forward as they arrived: “How did it go? What happened in the Mist Forest?”

“We eliminated the Wang Jie Shadow Panther, but ran into the Black Crows—unfortunately, their leader self-destructed. We got nothing useful.” Jiang Xia said.

Li Da’s eyes widened in surprise: “Itachi took down a Wang Jie Shadow Panther? Excellent! Now the base troops can finally breathe easy.”

He paused, then added: “But the Black Crows are too cunning. Investigating their secret warehouse will require careful planning.”

Over the next few days, Jiang Xia and Wang Teng assisted the base in clearing out nearby beast threats while gathering clues on the Black Crows.

They scoured Jiangcheng’s black markets and bars, finally uncovering useful information.

A black market merchant revealed the Black Crows’ secret warehouse might be hidden in an abandoned factory on the outskirts of Jiangcheng.

The factory once produced arms, but was abandoned after a massive fire.

The Black Crows likely used its underground facilities as their secret warehouse.

Jiang Xia and Wang Teng immediately reported this to Li Da. Li Da decided to launch a surprise raid on the factory at once.

That night, Jiang Xia, Wang Teng, and Li Da led a small team to the abandoned factory.

The factory was pitch black, lit only by a few flickering, broken streetlamps.

The air reeked of a sharp, acrid odor—clearly the scent of spirit-energy weapons.
