Chapter 17

The 【Steel Shield】 he had just cast, its 192 shield points nearly shattered under the BOSS's single punch, leaving only a pitiful 13 durability.

It was clearly a Summoner-class BOSS, yet after transforming it was even more reckless than him — simply unbelievable.

Without the shield, he would probably have been beaten down to a sliver of health and kicked out of the dungeon by now.

Abyss Battle Body — terrifying indeed!

"Roar!!"

After transforming, the 【Abyss Emissary · Aike】 seemed to have lost his mind; after freezing in place for a moment, he continued the pursuit.

But Luo Chenyu, following in the footsteps of a certain emperor, sprinted around the black Jin Zita.

Finally, after a few seconds—

The skill cooldown ended.

"Boom!"

After the 【Steel Shield】 exploded, he immediately recast it and continued unleashing the "Qin King Circles the Pillar" ultimate technique.

Luo Chenyu couldn't care less about his dignity — if it could kill the BOSS, what was a little dignity worth?

He wasn't brainless; he knew full well he couldn't trade blows head-on with the BOSS, so he certainly wouldn't go up for a melee brawl.

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

Once, and once again.

Finally, the BOSS with 4,200 HP collapsed under the explosions of his 【Steel Shield】.

"Ding! Killed Level 5 Nightmare BOSS 【Abyss Emissary · Aike】, gained 20,000 experience points!"

"Ding! Level increased by 1, current level LV. 4!"

Luo Chenyu stood in place and let out a breath of relief.

That kind of battle was simply too thrilling — just now he'd nearly been caught by the BOSS several times.

"Hehehehe…"

The eerie laughter made Luo Chenyu's heart, which had just settled, rise again.

He looked around, but saw no sign of the BOSS.

Suddenly, he noticed a wisp of black mist appear above the black Jin Zita.

"Insignificant human, the great Aike remembers you. I very much look forward to our next meeting — that will be the day of your death—"

The hollow voice drifted farther and farther away.

Finally, as the black mist dissipated, the sound cut off abruptly.

At the same time—

The black Jin Zita in the cave slowly sank into the ground.

Everything vanished without a trace…

No — a tattered black hooded robe remained on the scene, proving the hidden BOSS had truly been here.

"Oh?"

Luo Chenyu's eyes lit up; beneath the black robe, a captivating gleam caught his gaze, radiant and dazzling, as if beckoning to him.

It dropped loot!

Luo Chenyu closed the distance in three quick strides, reached the black robe, and used his Novice Tier sword to flip it aside.

"It actually dropped two items!"

Luo Chenyu couldn't wait to pick up the Two Items, holding them in his hands and examining them closely.

……

An S-Tier 【Abyss Ring】 was already a god-tier existence at the Novice Tier.

Especially the "Abyss Battle Body" status — it was actually a rare Super Armor skill.

Super Top-Grade!

Except… he can't equip it right now — flawless in every other respect.
