Chapter 87
"Hahaha… Yu Zhilin, after all these years, you've made not one bit of progress!"
In the midst of battle, a man clad in battle armor grinned cruelly, taunting relentlessly: "Cowering like a dog inside your school—never thought I'd run into you out here in the wilderness. Is this your luck… or mine?"
Yu Zhilin's face darkened, his eyes brimming with rage barely held in check.
"Wu Yicheng, you've been slumming it in the Maoxiangong Society for ages, yet you've grown no stronger—what's the point of all this talk? Let your blades speak the truth!"
As they spoke, their battle intensified.
The entire grove was obliterated by wild, chaotic techniques.
Behind a massive boulder in the distance, Wang Ziqian's face was equally grim, his gaze toward Yu Zhilin filled with bitter hatred.
He'd been furious enough just coming out at midnight to level up.
Never expected he'd run into his "kindly" teacher in the dead of night.
"Uncle Wu is a Tier 5 powerhouse—and still can't take him down? Just how strong is he?"
Wang Ziqian's own stats weren't bad; he could clearly see Yu Zhilin was no longer Wu Yicheng's match.
"Hmph, dead and done with—let you rot for sheltering that bastard!"
The battle continued.
After more than ten minutes, Yu Zhilin could only desperately defend.
"If I'm killed here, those two kids will emerge… No, I must leave!"
Immediately.
He slashed at Wu Yicheng, forcing him back, then sprinted toward the edge of the grove.
"Trying to run… No good!"
At that very moment.
Strange energy surfaced, followed by a thunderous roar.
The explosion came from near the boulder where Wang Ziqian stood.
"Ziqian!!"
Wu Yicheng dashed over and saw Wang Ziqian's lower half crushed beneath the boulder, his body limp from agony, while two figures stood atop him.
"Get off!!"
Wu Yicheng, enraged, raised his hand and slashed with his sword.
"Wu Yicheng, don't—you dare, she's from the Ye family…"
But Yu Zhilin's words came too late—the swordlight flashed and struck straight at the two figures.
TANG!!
The clash of metal rang out; golden light rained down, blocking the swordlight entirely.
"Puh!!"
Wu Yicheng spat blood, staring in disbelief at the golden glow—he slowly lifted his head and saw an ancient, weathered stone tower hovering in midair.
The golden light emanated from the tower.
Confused, he suddenly screamed: "Ahh… damn… damn it…"
He looked down slowly at his chest.
A bloodied blade pierced through his torso, each drop of blood falling slowly.
"Next life, don't leave your back exposed to your enemies!"
Yu Zhilin's cold voice drifted slowly through the air.
Strike while the iron is hot!
He yanked the great blade sideways, spraying a crimson arc of blood beneath the golden light.
Wu Yicheng never imagined he'd die in such a humiliating, pitiful way.
…
"Are you two alright?"
Yu Zhilin sheathed his blade, glanced at the scattered loot, felt the heavy stone in his chest lift, and his stern expression melted into a gentle smile.
The two figures were Luo Chenyu and Ye Xingtong.
Both looked utterly bewildered, completely unaware of what had just happened.
When the spatial rift had raged earlier, a prompt suddenly appeared before them: "Settle and Leave the Secret Realm?"
Of course they chose to leave.
But they never expected the 【Shi Ta】 would follow them—and had just saved their lives again.
"We're fine… Huh? Why's it so soft?"
Luo Chenyu shook his head, suddenly sensing something odd beneath his feet—he looked down.
"How the hell is this bastard Wang Ziqian still serving as my footstool?"
The mocking tone did not rouse the unconscious Wang Ziqian.
"Master Yu, what happened?"
Ye Xingtong stared at the battered Yu Zhilin, then at the wasteland around them, and asked in alarm.
"Ran into an enemy—thankfully you showed up, or the outcome would've been catastrophic!"
Yu Zhilin pointed at the stone tower hovering above and asked: "What… is this thing?"
At that moment, Luo Chenyu looked at the 【Shi Ta】 and remembered he still had one thing left to do.
"Master Yu, Little Tongtong, I'll be right back!"
No sooner had he spoken than Luo Chenyu's figure dissolved into golden light and vanished into the stone tower.
"Ah… this…"
Yu Zhilin stared in shock, then turned to Facing Ye Xingtong. "What is this?"
Facing Ye Xingtong wiped the dust from her face, returning to her cold expression. "I don't know what it is, but it saved our lives!"
She pushed off hard with both feet, leaping straight off Wang Ziqian's back.
She began recounting the story of the Skull Wang Zuo.
Of course, Luo Chenyu's insane strength was merely glossed over.
What mattered was informing Yu Zhilin about the Skull Wang Zuo, the Death Necromancer Andre, and the Skull Giant, so he could relay it upward.
She knew the two unknown powerhouses would not die from the spatial rift.
They were merely unknown where they had been banished.
"So…," Yu Zhilin rubbed his chin, "the Special Secret Realm… you guys blew it up?"
Facing Ye Xingtong: "…."
How could this usually serious head of discipline suddenly seem so… dumb?
"Actually, that's not wrong!"
Facing Ye Xingtong nodded and continued, "But please, Teacher Yu, report this to Headmaster Grandpa—and better yet, send it to the Barbarian God Legion!"
"Don't worry, reporting the Skull Wang Zuo is mandatory!"
Yu Zhilin thought for a moment. "When the time comes, Luo Chenyu must come along too—he's a party involved."
"Mm… Huh?"
Facing Ye Xingtong's expression changed instantly, her cold demeanor vanishing. "Brother Yu, you're out already?!"
Yu Zhilin: "???"
As Luo Chenyu reappeared, the stone tower in the sky dissolved into golden light and vanished into his hand.
Yu Zhilin blinked, but did not press further.
"What do we do with Wang Ziqian?"
Luo Chenyu rushed to the boulder at once, checking Wang Ziqian's injuries.
This question stumped both Yu Zhilin and Facing Ye Xingtong.
The former, as head of discipline, could not decide: to save Wang Ziqian was wrong, but to leave him was also wrong.
The latter, as a graduate, had never dealt with such matters and was utterly baffled.
Seeing this, Luo Chenyu hardened his heart. "Kill him. End it."
"Fine!" Yu Zhilin hesitated, then clenched his Yaguan. "Turn your heads!"
As he reached for his blade, Luo Chenyu moved first—his massive blue sword, as wide as a door, slashed down.
One slash, two halves!
"Teacher Yu, mind lending me a flame?"
