Chapter 108

And paying respects to the nobility...

Zhao Chi had seen it many times as well.

Zhao Hong sighed and said, "How about this—I'll lend you 2 gold coins. Your territory has just started, there aren't many magical beasts inside, it's very safe, so you probably won't need too many supplies either. Don't compare yourself with the others either; let's just develop steadily and properly."

Zhao Chi smiled and said, "Thank you, Fourth Brother, but no, 2 gold coins is too little. How about this—lend me 10 gold coins instead."

"Why can't you understand what I'm saying? No!"

"... Then I'll pay more interest. 10 gold coins borrowed for 1 month, I'll pay back 12 gold coins."

Zhao Hong was just about to refuse.

But he opened his mouth, yet made no sound.

After thinking for a moment, he asked, "10 gold coins borrowed for 1 month? Pay back 12 gold coins?"

"That's right."

Zhao Hong thought some more, then smiled and said, "The clan really has no money, but I have some savings on my side. If you're willing, I can lend it to you privately, but I'll need collateral."

Zhao Chi said helplessly, "I don't have anything at all. What collateral do you want? I'll become an official lord in a few days, and when that time comes I'll be able to get a loan and will pay you back too."

That seemed to make sense...

Zhao Hong nodded. "Alright, get on the system, sign the contract. I'm doing you a favor here, don't tell the others in the clan about this."

Zhao Chi smiled and said, "Don't rush, I have one more request."

Zhao Hong's face showed displeasure. "What other request do you have?"

Zhao Chi said, "Fourth Brother, don't you have a 'Self-Selected Medicine Treasure Chest'? Could you possibly..."

"No!"

Before Zhao Chi could finish speaking, Zhao Hong cut him off: "That's my family fortune, dream on."

"I'll pay extra to buy it."

"Pay extra?" Zhao Hong's tone softened.

"Mm."

"How much extra?"

"I don't really know the market price. Fourth Brother, you name a number."

Zhao Hong extended his thumb and pinky: "6 gold coins."

"You're way too scamming, aren't you?" Zhao Chi blurted out.

"It's you who's too scamming. You want my family fortune, so naturally it has to be more expensive."'

"Fourth Brother, can't you just buy another one? It's not like you can't get one, it just takes some time. If your price is too outrageous I definitely won't buy it, and you won't earn any money either."

Zhao Hong nodded. "Alright then, 4 gold coins."

Directly knocked off 2 gold coins...

How is this like playing around.

But 4 gold coins is actually still expensive.

But buying from Zhao Hong is definitely more expensive than the market price; otherwise there's no profit to be made, and he wouldn't sell either.

But Zhao Chi had checked the market before, and this thing wasn't being sold at the moment, so he could only buy it from him.

Expensive is expensive then.

The most important thing is that the "Self-Selected Medicine Treasure Chest" has the words "self-selected"—it most likely can activate the Flower-Plucking-Jade-Replacing talent.

Zhao Chi said, "Alright, 4 gold coins it is then."

Zhao Hong said, "You don't have money to buy it right now, do you? So this gold coin also counts as a loan. Same thing—20% interest, one month to pay back. No problem, right?"

"... No problem."

"Very good, sign it."
