Chapter 1856: Rapid Development (5)

Zhao Chi was dumbfounded.

This makes things difficult.

I was still thinking of getting a World Stone for Tang Ruan and the others, but now it can't be done?

If we rely only on the current tiny probability, when will we ever obtain one?

Probability?

Huh?

Weren't the World Stones stolen by the nobles? How is there still a probability of obtaining one?

Zhao Chi voiced this doubt.

Li Ruanyu said patiently, "This is precisely where the nobles are cunning. They release a tiny probability to give ordinary people a sliver of hope, luring ordinary lords into battle. Ordinary people won't be able to produce a World Stone, so they will only blame their own bad luck. Occasionally, when someone does produce a World Stone, it serves as propaganda, encouraging more lords to continue investing in it."

"So it also serves to maintain stability?"

"Exactly. Moreover, it can activate the enthusiasm of ordinary lords to fight against the demon beasts, as long as you give them a hope."

"Then if we want a World Stone, can we really only gamble on the probability?"

Li Ruanyu said regretfully, "Mm, theoretically yes. Unless we seize all the arrays in the central region, especially the Source Array of Zone 1, only then can we unlock the World Stone acquisition probability, allowing everyone to obtain World Stones steadily, or have them all belong to you; either is fine. However, looking at the situation now, it is almost impossible, unless we defeat the nobles in Zone 1 and the werewolves outside Zone 1."

"Alright..."

In that case, the World Stones Su Qin and Li Ruanyu each gave to Zhao Chi were even more precious than imagined.

Then the matter of establishing a second branch race must be postponed.

And we don't know how long it will be postponed.

Seeing Zhao Chi silent, Li Ruanyu spoke again, "However, there is another method, but... it definitely isn't suitable for us."

"What method?"

"Go help the nobles, and let them pay with World Stones."

Can it be done like that?

Yes, of course it can.

For ordinary people, World Stones are incredibly precious; in the nobles' hands, they are just trash gathering dust in storage.

Can't they just hand over a batch casually?

Zhao Chi instantly thought of the time they previously supported the nobles.

"Then when we supported the nobles last time, it shouldn't have been as righteous as the notification claimed, right? Did we not also acquire quite a few World Stones?"

Li Ruanyu smiled, "Of course. This is a case of killing two birds with one stone. We certainly cannot let the nobles fall. Not only do we need them to fight the werewolves, but more importantly, the supplies in their hands must not be seized by the werewolves. Once the werewolves seize them, it will be a nightmare for all humanity. Besides, it is only right for us to demand some compensation. After all, acquiring quite a few World Stones is a very great harvest for our World-Breaking Army."

Previously, I really didn't feel it so deeply.

Only now do I truly realize that the nobles indeed cannot fall right now.

When the snipe and the clam fight, the fisherman profits.

When the mantis stalks the cicada, the oriole is behind.

For now, we can only maintain the three-way balance between the nobles, the werewolves, and the resistance army.

Li Ruanyu said, "However, the World Stones we acquired last time should already be used up. They were roughly used in five aspects: some were used to increase the strength of veteran generals in the army, some were given to excellent lords who lost their territories to help them regain territories, some were distributed as rewards, some were consumed in training new recruits, and some were used to expand our influence in other cities. That is roughly it."

These five aspects indeed all require consumption.

If Zhao Chi were to decide, he would also use them in these five aspects.

Now that the nobles are no longer distributing them for free, it essentially cuts off the path for future new lords. If this continues, there will be almost no new lords later on.

And within the World-Breaking Army, there are certainly many promising new recruits who need opportunities; indeed, some World Stones must be allocated to them.

The territory of the World-Breaking Army is not limited to Snowfield City; there are other cities as well, which also need some World Stones to strengthen their spheres of influence.

Then there is the aspect of rewards.

This portion is not too large, but the effect should be extremely good. Even if we take out a few to use as incentives, they can still produce a very strong motivating effect.

Then there is distributing them to the powerful lords of the World-Breaking Army to increase their strength; this is absolutely the top priority.

Moreover, this point cannot be spared; in fact, it is the most consumed.

Finally, there are still many lords with very strong power and talent who have lost their territories; they must also be given some so they can accumulate again.

And since they are strong and experienced, even a new territory can develop rapidly.

The Territory Stone of Third Uncle Zhao Qi's fief might have been issued by the World-Breaking Army to the Zhao family, and then the Zhao family gave it to him.

If that is the case, did Li Ruanyu also obtain one?

"Sister, did you also get one?"

Li Ruanyu said with considerable pride, "Of course. Our Jade Green Squad is still very strong, so it is only natural that we would obtain one."

"So... the one you gave me was the one you obtained?"

Li Ruanyu smiled, "Yes."

Zhao Chi asked, "Then if you gave it to me, did the others in the squad have no objections?"

Li Ruanyu said, "It was allocated to me personally, not to the Jade Green Squad, so I can handle it however I wish. Of course, many people offered heavy sums to buy it from me, but how could I possibly sell it?"

Hearing this, Zhao Chi felt somewhat moved.

Previously, I only knew that World Stones were rare, but I never imagined they were this rare.
