Sugarcane has a relatively long growing period.

Even Zhao Chi's super sugarcane still needs the default 90 days to mature.

Moreover, it contains a large amount of bagasse.

The edible portion isn't much.

Roughly 10 tons of sugarcane can yield 5 tons of sugar water, and after processing, the sugar water can produce about 1 ton of sugar.

The sugar output is 10% of the total.

Sugar is the main product of sugarcane.

So although it looks like 16,000 tons of sugarcane were harvested, in reality it was 1,600 tons of sugar, along with 8,000 tons of bagasse.

But then again, 1,600 tons of sugar for personal consumption is definitely more than enough.
