Chapter 2561: Development and Construction (8)

Li Ruanyu was slightly helpless.

But she was very mature.

This kind of woman knew the importance of communication, so she still told Zhao Chi her thoughts in time.

Zhao Chi was, of course, listening carefully too.

Nodding as he listened: "Oh."

Li Ruanyu said softly: "Next time let me catch my breath a little more, leave some interval between each time for me, otherwise it's really a bit hard to bear... if you had just paused for half a minute just now, it might have been completely different."

"Understood, Sister, just tell me whatever other requests you have, I'll definitely improve properly."

Li Ruanyu smiled and said: "So eager to learn, huh. I should still come back tomorrow, tomorrow I'll test your results and see if there's any progress."

"Ha, no problem."

The two entered Phoenix Chant Tower again.

Fragrance after fragrance filled the tower.

Li Ruanyu couldn't help taking a deep breath, wanting to smell those wonderful body fragrances a little more.

"Ruanyu."

"Hmm?"

"I want to buy a large amount of 'Heroic Souls' or 'Hero Commissions', but I couldn't get them at our temporary trading post, nor at the Shuibei Town exchange. And I've already posted bounties, but it had absolutely no effect — to this day I haven't received a single one. Do you know what's going on?"

Li Ruanyu gave a soft hum.

"It's probably hard to buy now, especially in wartime. Everyone's 'Heroic Souls' and 'Hero Commissions' are used immediately. After all, this directly boosts the Lord's strength, no one would hold back at a time like this. Especially since the White Tiger Regiment just went through a major battle, and Shuibei Town here just had its combat supplies bought out by the Black Tortoise Regiment..."

"I see..."

The reasoning was indeed very simple.

The White Tiger Regiment had just been badly beaten, already considered spent.

Although Shuibei Town still had a main garrison here, a battle could break out at any moment.

If Lords really had such items, they would definitely use them immediately — summon new heroes as soon as possible, start training as soon as possible.

And now they not only had to face the pressure of the werewolves, but also the daily pressure of magical beasts.

Ordinary Lords didn't have it easy.

Not everyone could be like Zhao Chi.

Such items simply couldn't be kept.

Even if kept unused, they would be sold immediately, traded for money to buy useful supplies or items for themselves, not hoarded in hand.

"Then... Sister, is there any other method that can convert subordinates into heroes?"

Li Ruanyu said: "For you, what's more suitable and can take shape quickly is actually a large number of captives, or buying ready-made heroes."

"Just buy them directly?"

"Yes, that's the most direct way."

It was indeed a method.

Every Lord had heroes.

A small number were obtained through Heroic Souls, another small number were promoted through Commissions, and some were obtained by capturing other people's heroes.

Heroes were, of course, capable assistants to a Lord.

However... they were still subordinates.

Of course they could be bought and sold.

Only the price would be much higher than soldiers.

But the concept of expensive no longer meant much to the current Zhao Chi.

As long as the money was right, the several thousand Lords of the White Tiger Regiment and Shuibei Town would almost all sell the heroes in their hands.

As long as the money was enough to compensate for the combat power loss from losing a hero, Lords would sell.

Even if only one out of every 10 Lords was willing to sell, Zhao Chi could quickly gather several hundred heroes.

Several hundred heroes...

That would directly let all the female soldiers receive the hero bonus.

Indeed very fast.

But the problem was that other Lords' heroes didn't have much goodwill toward Zhao Chi.

Unlike the Taoyu Clan, who had an affection bonus toward him as their creator, and whose loyalty rose extremely fast.

And now the Taoyu Clan's base loyalty was already at 7 points.

Almost any newly joined female villager could be entrusted with important tasks right from the start.

While heroes of other races still needed their loyalty cultivated slowly, and once any problem arose, the loyalty would drop.

Li Ruanyu, hearing this, said: "It's fine, you can just buy captive heroes."

"Captives?"

Li Ruanyu nodded and said: "That's right, don't you have the new-type collars now? They give a big bonus to slaves, right? Can make them increase obedience in a short time, and afterwards you can also receive bonuses based on obedience?"

"Yes."

"So, if you're worried about the loyalty issue, then just don't bother with loyalty, just obedience is fine. With that new-type collar, you won't have to worry about not being able to control them. This new collar of yours is really good, give me a batch later too."

"Of course, no problem."

Zhao Chi answered while thinking.

If they were slave heroes, this problem could indeed be avoided.

Zhao Chi did indeed want to start vigorously developing captive troops.

Slave troops paired with slave heroes — just hearing it sounded like a perfect match.

Before, when Zhao Chi fought the Heavenly King Army and other ordinary lords, he had captured quite a few heroes.

He basically gave them all to Su Qin.

Now Su Qin's army has a total of over 20 female elf heroes, plus over 10 melee male heroes.

There are still over 30 heroes locked up in the prison.

After all, Su Qin wants to convert these people into subjects, so she is still gradually raising their obedience in a gentle manner.
