Chapter 2624: Trade and Advancement (11)

The great hall of the Exos Commerce Guild was utterly silent.

The soldiers stared coldly at everyone.

The Western merchants didn't dare even draw a breath.

Yuan Ze pressed his questioning aggressively.

Shopkeeper Wanyan's brows knit tight, yet she could offer no new justification.

Zhao Chi had heard enough.

The general reasons were already clear.

The Ruby Commerce Guild, being merchants, would certainly trade with the werewolves as well; in fact, because the werewolves had money, the trade volume was huge — that was perfectly normal.

So Shubei Town had used this reason to expel the Ruby Commerce Guild.

But Shopkeeper Wanyan must have heard that most of the lords of Horn Cliff Town had withdrawn to Shubei Town, so this time, in order to deliver the goods to Zhao Chi, she had come to Shubei Town.

But she had already explained the reason in advance, and had clearly written out the supplies she intended to bring in, ensuring there was no violation, so the delivery could proceed normally.

Shubei Town had approved it as well.

But approval was approval, and inspection was inspection.

After all, what was written on the approval form was rice, but in reality it was possible that what was actually brought in was medicine.

Inspection was necessary.

It was also standard procedure.

After Shopkeeper Wanyan entered at dawn with three female subordinates, Yuan Ze had arrived with his inspection team.
