Chapter 2641

Zhao Chi looked at her reddened eyes and said, "Tired? I'll finish what I have to say and leave, so you can rest early."

Shopkeeper Wanyan smiled and said, "I'm fine. The people in your territory are all pretty nice. Is this your personal private territory? Why are they all women?"

Zhao Chi said, "I suppose so."

Shopkeeper Wanyan laughed and said, "Then it must be very safe here. Regarding Young Lady Zhao Si's order, you have full authority to handle it on your end, right?"

Zhao Chi nodded: "Yes. What did you bring in the first batch of goods? I'll settle the balance with you."

"Here's the list, take a look. Let's add each other to our contacts, shall we?"

"Sure."

【First Batch Item List】

「Attribute Jade」×3

「Mysterious Woman Ruler Shard」×3

「Fuxi Zither Shard」×1

「Kunlun Mirror Shard」×1

「Race Improvement Book」×200

「Technology Improvement Book」×200

【Balance Amount】11092

The details hadn't changed, same as the first batch goods information received last time.

The balance was over 10,000 gold coins...

Only a little over 10,000?

This was clearly a huge sum, but Zhao Chi's first reaction was, why is it only this much money?

In his memory, the goods purchased from Shopkeeper Wanyan had been a massive order, but now it felt like nothing special.

Mainly because Zhao Chi's mindset had changed.

These past few days at Shubei Town, money really did flow out like water.

But even so, he still hadn't spent it all.

Zhao Chi smiled and said, "The list looks fine, same as before. Are the goods in your spatial storage? Let's trade."

Shopkeeper Wanyan was a little surprised: "Right now? You've brought enough cash on you, right?"

"I have. Don't worry."

Zhao Chi first sent the trade request and placed 11,192 gold coins on it.

Shopkeeper Wanyan gave a light laugh and said, "Zhao Chi, you put 100 extra gold coins on it."

"A tip for you."

"A tip?"

"Mm."

"Wait... a 100 gold coin tip?? Bro, are you serious?"

Even though Yin Wanyan was a worldly and experienced female merchant, a direct 100 gold coin tip was still a first for her.

Zhao Chi was also a little surprised by her reaction.

He could no longer feel the value of 100 gold coins.

It really felt about the same as spending 100 copper coins before—no, about the same as spending 1 copper coin before.

He could really just hand it out casually.

Looks like he still needed to restrain himself in the future.

Zhao Chi nodded and said, "That's right, I'm serious. Take it. After all, there's still a task... uh, a matter I want to cooperate with you on."

Yin Wanyan smiled and said, "If you're serious, then I do want to accept it. But as for the cooperation you mentioned... until I've figured it out, I won't take this money for now."

Zhao Chi shook his head: "You're overthinking it. These 100 gold coins are just compensation for your hard work, with no other conditions attached. I didn't expect that in such chaotic circumstances right now, you'd still show up on time, taking such a huge risk. It's worth these 100 gold coins."

Yin Wanyan smiled and said, "After all, I already made an appointment with Young Lady Zhao Si. A merchant values reputation above all else—how could I break my word?"

"Take it, you've earned it."

"Hehe~ Thank you, little brother~"

Wanyan happily placed the supplies onto the trade interface.

Both sides clicked confirm.

A batch of new items instantly appeared in Zhao Chi's system spatial storage.

Not bad at all.

Especially those three Attribute Jades—he'd use them all in a bit.

Zhao Chi was a little moved that Yin Wanyan could still come deliver goods at a time like this.

But Zhao Chi wouldn't think that Yin Wanyan had really risked her life to come just to deliver his order.

She probably had other business.

Besides, Zhao Chi was very curious.

As a female merchant with no combat ability, how had she made it to Shubei Town?

Although most of the werewolves in the spatial rift had already headed to West Abyss County, Shubei Town was still a key guarded point for the werewolves.

Yet Yin Wanyan had managed to enter safely?

Could it be that she and her three female subordinates all had high combat ability, just hidden?

Probably not...

Zhao Chi directly asked his question.

Yin Wanyan smiled and said, "Of course we didn't come ourselves. How could we possibly make it here on our own? We came together with a merchant caravan."

"Following a caravan? The Ruby caravan came too?"

"No, we came following another caravan that was heading the same way. You should know that our Ruby Merchant Guild is a member of the World Abandoners Alliance, right?"

"Mm, I've heard of it."

"So, as long as a caravan belongs to the Alliance, we can basically travel together with them."

Zhao Chi suddenly understood: "Oh, they can do that? That really is convenient."

Shopkeeper Wanyan nodded:

"It is very convenient. This time I came following the Gude caravan.

"We originally arranged to trade inside the spatial rift, right? But I could never get in touch with Young Lady Zhao Si. However, I knew that most of the people originally from Horn Cliff Town had come to Shubei Town, so I could only contact Captain Li.

"As it turned out, she really did have information on Young Lady Zhao Si, and she agreed to help me get in touch, so I had the Gude caravan drop me off here."

Zhao Chi asked: "The Gude caravan? They came to Shubei Town too?"

"No, they're heading to White Harbor. Bringing me along was just on the way."

"I see. So you went to the Exes Merchant Guild. Are they also a guild in the Alliance?"

"Mm… they used to be, but not anymore. But we still have some friendship with them, so they agreed to let me stay at the Exes Merchant Guild for a few days. I didn't expect all this to happen though. Later I'll still need to go over and apologize, and compensate them for the damage to their hall."

"I have another question."

"Go ahead and ask."

"Did you run into any werewolves outside? Or is the Gude caravan's armed escort this time so strong that even werewolves couldn't beat them?"

Hearing this question, Shopkeeper Wanyan hesitated a little.

But she still said: "Actually… how should I put it. I'll tell you the truth, but don't get angry, alright?"

Zhao Chi asked, puzzled: "It has something to do with me?"

"It's not that it has to do with you… but I hope you won't take any hostility toward me, alright?"

"…Go ahead and tell me. I don't think I'd have any grudge against you. As long as you tell the truth, I'll promise to try my best to keep my patience."

Wanyan nodded and said:

"Our Ruby Merchant Guild does have trade with the werewolves of Moon-Gazing City, and it's very frequent, with very large sums.

"Besides us, other members of the World Abandoners Alliance also trade with the werewolves of Moon-Gazing City.

"Normally, werewolves won't attack us when they run into us.

"Of course, some 'toll' is unavoidable.

"And this time the Gude caravan's armed escort really is strong. After all, they're heading to White Harbor, such a long journey, they have no choice but to bring more combat personnel.

"So running into werewolves doesn't really mean anything to us.

"But don't worry, we only have trade relations with the werewolves, no other cooperation or exchange.

"I hope this won't affect the cooperation between us."
