Chapter 2807

Zhao Chi was slightly disappointed.

But even so, it could still be useful.

At the very least, he could instantly discern the target's identity and profession.

Moreover, attributes and enhancements now showed up as data, which was still pretty good — especially for combat, since it gave a rough idea of the opponent's strength.

But most of this information was very vague.

He guessed it was because his Perception wasn't much higher than the target's.

Then he'd switch up his stat allocation.

Zhao Chi poured all 153 enhancement points into Perception.

Instantly, he felt his senses open up, his awareness sharpening.

He used Deep Perception again, still picking the same target.

A faint glow drifted into his eyes once more.

Zhao Chi's eyes lit up again.

【Perceiving…】

The female slave froze for a moment again.

But this time she didn't look up, still working hard.

【Inner Thoughts】 Almost time for a break — going to soak in the bath for a whole hour!

What the heck is this?

Not only does every option now show specific details, but he can even sense their inner thoughts?

This is a bit…

A bit strange.

But it needs to be verified.

Zhao Chi opened the system, located this female slave laborer's information, and checked it one by one.

All correct!

The accuracy is pretty good.

But that inner-thoughts information can't be found in the system.

No idea if it's accurate.

Zhao Chi found the female overseer in charge of this area and asked, "What time does that female slave take her break?"

The female overseer followed the direction of Zhao Chi's fingertip, looked carefully, then said respectfully, "My lord, she took over the shift at 12 last night. With one break every 10 hours, she can take a temporary rest at 10 in the morning."

"Good, thank you."

"You're welcome. Would you like her to work overtime?"

"Oh, no need. Just keep it as usual."

"Understood, my lord!"

He checked the time: 9:57.

Looks like the inner-thoughts messages picked up by Deep Perception are real too.

Zhao Chi cast Deep Perception on the female overseer beside him.

That female overseer also glanced at Zhao Chi.

But she didn't say anything.

Zhao Chi noticed that every time he used Deep Perception, the target would look at him.

Could they sense it?

"What did you feel just now?"

"Ah? N-no, nothing." The female overseer shook her head.

Zhao Chi said, "I need to know what you felt just now. Tell me."

"Well… I just felt that, um, did you perhaps have some kind of interest in that female slave?"

"What??"

Zhao Chi's face was blank with confusion.

Looks like she got the wrong idea.

Zhao Chi immediately pressed, "That's not what I meant. I'm asking why you suddenly glanced at me just now."

"Oh… that's what you meant. Just now I suddenly felt a very strange sensation, like someone was staring at me, so I looked at you."

"Is that so?"

"Yes, and the feeling was extremely strong."

"Understood, thank you."

"You're too kind, my lord."

As they spoke, the female overseer's information also came through in full.

Zhao Chi cross-checked her information against the system and found it was all correct as well.

It seemed his current perception intensity could already achieve precise information detection on targets.

【Target】Elven Female

【Class】Overseer

【Inner Thoughts】Does my lord care about that female slave? She doesn't look anything special — does my lord prefer the flat-chested type? Perhaps it's because Lady Gu Qing and the others are extremely voluptuous, so my lord has grown tired of them?

Ugh…

How could he possibly grow tired?

Not even in this lifetime!

Honestly…

Whatever, let's look at someone else.

Zhao Chi walked along, picking a few more targets and using the skill several times.

Every time he used it, those targets would look toward Zhao Chi.

Including the flower demon and the ratfolk.

It seemed deep perception couldn't be used as a covert scouting skill — one could only openly sense the other party.

A little imperfect.

Still, this skill was very powerful.

Even if the other party would notice, it should still be used when needed.

Especially when encountering enemies — just cast the skill to probe them directly.

Being able to see the opponent's attribute values directly was very useful for combat.

However, inner thoughts weren't obtained 100% of the time.

Quite a few targets had no inner thoughts at all.

Zhao Chi hadn't found any pattern.

Still, there was a slight clue.

It seemed to appear only when the inner thoughts were particularly strong.

When the mind was calm, it wouldn't appear.
