Chapter 681: Rookie Tournament (30)

Zhao Chi put on a simple mask, then returned to Battlefield 1 once more.

In the audience stands, emotions ran high.

The spectators were still shouting and jeering.

At this moment, a host finally appeared at the center of the arena.

Seeing the staff member appear, many spectators wanted to climb over the low wall and rush over to demand an explanation.

But only the contestants and the host could enter the battlefield; the spectators were firmly blocked by an air wall and couldn't get in at all.

The host was an elegant man.

He wore an all-black formal suit, with a professional smile on his face.

He quietly watched the surrounding audience's angry shouts.

The host placed one hand over his heart and bowed slightly.

Then he spoke softly:

"Dear audience friends, please don't be anxious. It seems everyone has many questions, and I'm here to explain."

The host's voice wasn't loud, but it reached every person's ears at the scene clearly and distinctly—this was one of the conveniences of the virtual space.

The clamor in the crowd instantly dropped by half.

The host continued, elegantly:

"It seems everyone is very surprised by this result? But please rest assured, there is no behind-the-scenes manipulation, and no cheating.

"Yuan Zhao failed to arrive at the battlefield within 5 minutes after the match began, so the system judged him as defeated.

"This is written clearly in the match rules.

"We also don't know the exact reason why Yuan Zhao didn't enter the battlefield. We also feel very regretful that the final ended in this way.

"During the 5 minutes after the match began, we kept trying to contact Yuan Zhao, but the other party never responded.

"Moreover, Yuan Zhao actively refused the automatic teleportation.

"Therefore, we can only follow the match rules and judge Yuan Zhao as having forfeited, and judge contestant Zhao Chi as the winner.
