Chapter 159: The State Machine Activates! Exterminate the Tianming Sect!

The secret manual of Lei Shen Zhi was an extremely thick book.

After Xu Jingming obtained the original manual from Professor Chen of Jing University, he casually placed it inside his space ring.

He planned to read it only after attending the Meteor Society's exchange meeting.

If this had been any ordinary student, Chen Lin would never have dared hand over such a precious S-class top-tier combat technique manual.

But Xu Jingming, as an S-class student of Mo University, had a very low probability of encountering trouble.

Even if trouble did arise, Mo University would cover the losses.

They could simply pick another S-class top-tier combat technique from Mo University's collection and take it back.

After obtaining the manual and bidding farewell to the principal and teachers, Xu Jingming immediately headed for Building No. 2.

Of course,

Vice Principal Ling Shuang was not Xu Jingming's personal attendant.

At this moment, she could not possibly use her space-based ability to transport him there.

Thus, Xu Jingming, after leaving the Combat Technique Library, had to run all the way there.

6:24 p. m.

When Xu Jingming arrived at the conference hall of Building No. 2, many people were already there.

"Vice President Xu."

"Hello, Vice President."

"Vice President Xu."

"......"

As soon as Xu Jingming entered the conference hall, several club members seated nearby quickly greeted him.

Many of them were second-, third-, and even fourth-year seniors, all showing great respect.

Mo University inherently valued strength above all, and Xu Jingming was their vice president.

They saw nothing wrong with such respectful greetings.

"Jingming, over here!"

The conference hall of the main teaching building was a large auditorium-style room capable of holding nearly five hundred people.

At this moment, in the first row of seats closest to the podium,

a burly young man stood up and called out loudly to Xu Jingming.

"Coming."

Xu Jingming smiled in response and walked toward the first-row seat.

The young man was Du Liangping, also a vice president of the Meteor Society.

He was someone Xu Jingming met during his first exchange meeting, and their relationship was fairly good.

Notably, Song Qiuyun had also joined the Meteor Society.

But she had been called away early this morning by her advisor, Dean Kong Xueqing of the Element Academy.

She had not returned yet.

"You're late. I thought you weren't coming."

After Xu Jingming sat down beside him, Du Liangping smiled and said.

"I got held up a bit." Xu Jingming offered no further explanation.

"The forum post said you've advanced to third-rank—I didn't believe it, but it turns out it's true."

Du Liangping, sensing the change in Xu Jingming's aura, marveled:

"At this rate of advancement, the Meteor Guild might actually change their mind and make you next year's president."

Although the Meteor Guild had already pre-selected the next club president,

no one expected Xu Jingming's advancement speed to be this fast.

"Forget it, the president's too much work—I'm not interested." Xu Jingming quickly waved his hand.

Since the day he joined the club, President Wu Yuan had never had a single day off.

Even today's exchange meeting—he had no time to attend...

"True, Jingming, you hate trouble."

Du Liangping nodded slightly, then added with a touch of wonder:

"Speaking of which, the Tianming Sect, which has reemerged after over sixty years, really has guts!

They dared to attack the three-university freshman team! They're truly throwing their lives away!

Once the state fully investigates and clarifies the matter, there will be major actions.

Also, Mo University will likely release numerous related missions, and the credit rewards won't be low.

Jingming, will you take on the mission?"

None of the three top universities are easy to provoke.

After suffering such a heavy loss—over three hundred freshmen killed—they won't let this slide easily.

Once the state officially classifies the incident, Mo University will quickly follow up by releasing related missions.

"Of course I'll take it."

Xu Jingming did not hesitate at all.

He was still thinking about killing the Divine Blood Envoys to harvest ability points.

Also, he might find more Divine Blood in the Tianming Sect's hideout.

To further strengthen the foundation of his Lei Ting Bu Mie Shen.

"Huh? I thought you were only interested in ferocious beasts."

Du Liangping looked surprised, "But most of our club's members who are at Peak Second Stage are just like you."

They're all rubbing their hands together, waiting for the school to release missions so they can earn a big haul of credits."

"Aren't you planning to take on a Jietianming Sect mission?"

Xu Jingming raised his sword-like eyebrows slightly.

According to standard procedure, first- and second-year students at Magic University are mostly still in the phase of on-campus study.

Starting from third year, most students begin venturing into the Wildlands to take on other missions.

Especially fourth-year students, most of whom rush to complete missions during this final year.

They accumulate enough credits to gather a certain amount of cultivation resources before graduation.

"No, I'm planning to intern at the Meteorite Guild for a while."

Du Liangping shook his head.

"Interning directly at a guild? That's real guts!"

Xu Jingming said with admiration, "Then I wish you safe travels, Liangping."

Guild battle squads usually hold the front lines, fighting the fiercest battles against ferocious beasts, with extremely high fatality rates.

Even Magic University students never lightly choose to intern at a guild before graduation.

"Thanks for the good wishes," Du Liangping smiled warmly.

Yet, given the brutality of the front lines, even as a Peak Third Stage adept,

he couldn't be sure whether he'd survive this internship period...

As Du Liangping had predicted, shortly after the exchange meeting ended, at eight p. m. that night,

multiple national official accounts officially released written and video statements regarding the Tianming Sect's ambush on the joint freshman team of the three universities.

"On December 11th, the day before yesterday, a highly vicious cult attack occurred at the No. 7 Demon Cave in Shun'an City, Guizhou Province.

This cult is called the Tianming Sect..."

In the video statement appeared the Ninth-Rank Martial Saint, Councilor Liu Yushan, whom Xu Jingming had once met briefly.

He first, with a solemn expression, spent several minutes explaining the full context of the incident.

Then he directly announced the government's response to the Tianming Sect:

"The Tianming Sect has ravaged Blue Star for over a hundred years — it is a thoroughly anti-human cult.

Therefore, the Great Xia government officially issues a death warrant against the Tianming Sect.

We encourage all guilds, battle squads, and lone adept mercenaries to provide information on the Tianming Sect.

Upon verification, substantial rewards will be granted.

Across all provinces and cities, if any trace of the Tianming Sect is found, pursue it to the end — execute without mercy!

All public security bureaus, universities, and martial academies across the nation are to enter full alert status to prevent a Tianming Sect counterattack.

After the issuance of the death warrant, anyone who attempts to collude with Tianming Sect disciples — execute!

Anyone who attempts to shelter Tianming Sect disciples — execute!

Anyone who..."

The short few-minute video carried a heavy aura of slaughter.

The Tianming Sect daring to target students had clearly touched the Great Xia nation's most sacred taboo!

And this video, barely five minutes long, immediately surged to the top trending topics across all online platforms upon release.

Simultaneously, search keywords such as "What is the Tianming Sect?", "How many students from the three universities died?", and "What level of administrative order is the death warrant?" spiked instantly.

Meanwhile, provinces, cities, and even renowned guilds, battle squads, and martial academies all issued statements immediately.

They pledged unconditional obedience to the national death warrant and vowed full efforts to track down the Tianming Sect.

At this moment,

the terrifying machine of the Great Xia nation, because of the Tianming Sect incident, finally revealed a hint of its ferocious fangs...
