Chapter 184: Third-Rank Mid-Tier! The Highly Watched Xu Jingming!

After sparring with his senior brother Liu Ming.

Xu Jingming then spent several more hours learning spear techniques and other combat skills from Teacher Yang Zhentian.

He grabbed lunch there before leaving campus for the A-rank mission's destination.

Unlike S-rank missions, A-rank missions are much simpler.

Xu Jingming successfully located the two fourth-rank lower-tier Blood Divine Envoys in just two days.

He eliminated them with almost no effort, ultimately earning 2,000 ability points.

Before killing them, Xu Jingming learned from their mouths.

It turned out that Magic City was a key development city for the Tianming Sect, and there were many more Blood Divine Envoys like them.

So, for the following period, Xu Jingming no longer went to the wilderness zone.

Instead, he continuously accepted Tianming Sect missions, hunted down Blood Divine Envoys, killed them, and gained ability points.

Most of these missions were only A-rank or B-rank; S-rank ones were rare.

While carrying out low-rank missions, Xu Jingming occasionally brought Song Qiuyun and Jiang Chuxuan along.

With their strength and the protective necklace, they wouldn't hold him back during missions.

On the contrary, more people meant greater efficiency in finding clues.

Of course,

not every mission guaranteed the discovery of a Blood Divine Envoy.

Yet even so, the efficiency of gaining ability points remained high enough.

Just two weeks later, on January 1st—the New Year's Day.

Xu Jingming's system accumulated 17,000 ability points, and a plus sign immediately appeared next to his system panel level.

"Seventeen thousand ability points—more than I expected to need for promotion..."

In the second-floor training room of the student dormitory, Xu Jingming sat cross-legged on the floor.

The bright moonlight streamed through the transparent floor-to-ceiling window, blending with the artificial lights.

Making his bare upper body appear as flawless as a marble sculpture.

"It seems that advancing from third-rank mid-tier to third-rank upper-tier will require at least 20,000 ability points."

Xu Jingming shook his head, then tapped the plus sign on his system panel.

Ability points –!

【Level】: Third-rank lower-tier → Third-rank mid-tier!

【Physique】: 2047 qi-blood → 2497!

【Spirit】: 1535 Hz → 1985!

As his level ascended to third-rank mid-tier, Xu Jingming's physique and spirit surged simultaneously!

At the same time, the golden Dou Tian Shen Lei faintly swirling around his body darkened slightly.

The dangerous aura it emitted grew even stronger, like a blazing sun.

Ordinary people would feel discomfort merely by staring at it.

"Both physique and spirit increased by roughly 450 points."

Xu Jingming nodded in satisfaction.

A typical third-rank mid-tier adept's physique and spirit barely reached 1,600 points.

Thanks to the S-rank body cultivation technique Lei Ting Bu Mie Shen, cultivated to the fourth level, his qi-blood strength exceeded that of peers by nearly 900 points!

Additionally, his spiritual power was also 400 points higher.

"With this, killing Blood Divine Envoys should become even more efficient."

Xu Jingming's gaze grew deep.

Ma Da University would go on winter break on January 18th; after the break, he would enter the Lei Ting Secret Realm.

Although the Lei Ting Secret Realm also contained ferocious beasts he could kill to accumulate ability points,

he still preferred fighting human adepts over beasts.

After all, Vice Principal Ling Shuang had already pre-selected him for the university league in three months.

Before then, he wanted to accumulate more experience fighting human adepts.

Of course,

if he could ascend to fourth-rank before the university league, that would be the safest path...

Another half-month passed.

Ma Da University, Mission Building, first-floor lobby.

Since the Tianming Sect missions were posted, the first-floor lobby never lacked people.

Today, the mission hall was even more crowded than usual!

It was still before nine in the morning, yet nearly five or six hundred students already filled the first-floor lobby.

Keep in mind,

Ma Da University had only around four thousand enrolled students total.

Five or six hundred students already accounted for more than one-eighth of the entire student body.

Above these heads, suspended in midair, was a holographic leaderboard:

'Rank 1: Xu Jingming. Record: 3 S-rank missions (total time: 225 hours 12 minutes), 6 A-rank missions (total time: 265 hours 45 minutes), 4 B-rank missions (total time: 187 hours 57 minutes).

Rank 2: Kong Shi. Record: 3 S-rank missions (total time: 275 hours 12 minutes), 4 A-rank missions (total time: 243 hours 12 minutes), 3 B-rank missions (total time: 91 hours 45 minutes).

Rank 3: Yao Fang. Record: 2 S-rank missions (total time: 292 hours 12 minutes)...'

"Who could have imagined that the top spot on the Honor Board would be claimed by a first-year freshman?"

"Right? Kong Shi was almost about to break through to the fourth-tier mid-stage, but in the end he still fell a little short."

"And who knows how Xu Jingming cultivates — he's absurdly strong, it's unbelievable!"

"......"

The Glory Leaderboard refreshes and tallies once every month, and at the same time distributes rewards according to the rankings.

And today was the day the Glory Leaderboard rewards were handed out.

Of course,

this had nothing to do with most of the people in the great hall.

They had come here mainly to scramble for the batch of Tianming Sect missions released in sync with the Glory Leaderboard refresh.

While waiting, they instinctively began to discuss the rankings on the Glory Leaderboard.

Among them, Xu Jingming — who was only a freshman —

had defeated a host of veteran powerhouses to claim first place on the Glory Leaderboard, and naturally was the one drawing the most attention.

"Xu Jingming really is strong, but I wonder if the video was exaggerated."

One month ago,

the Magic University official website had begun playing, on rotation, combat-record videos of students who had completed high-difficulty Tianming Sect missions.

These included not only Magic University's top few fourth-tier students, but Xu Jingming's figure was also prominently listed!

That dazzling golden Lei Ting, and that frenzied, bloodthirsty killing style —

the moment the video aired, it instantly became the hot topic of discussion among Magic University's students.

And Xu Jingming's fame received a terrifying boost!

If before, Xu Jingming had only had a certain reputation among the new students,

then after the video aired, the entire Magic City Ability University knew there was such a figure!

So every time the school's official website updated videos, Xu Jingming's video was always the one with the most views.

Of course,

there were also some people who expressed doubt, thinking Xu Jingming's combat video might have been processed with special effects.

"Xu Jingming and those other top-10 Glory Leaderboard people should all come to the scene to collect their rewards — just go see for yourself with your own eyes later, won't that do?"

Someone replied with a smile.

In fact,

quite a few people present had only learned of Xu Jingming's existence through the videos and had never seen the real person at all.

Some had even come here specifically to see in person what kind of monstrous figure this freshman Xu Jingming actually was.
