Chapter 206: 23,000 Ability Points! Third-Order Upper-Tier!

Lei Yaoyang's level is Third-Order Peak; although he can leap-rank and slay Fourth-Order Lower-Tier fierce beasts, that is only achievable when he plays every last trump card.

The pack of fierce beasts chasing after Xu Jingming—without resorting to trump cards, even he alone would find them very hard to deal with.

So he was very curious: how exactly would Xu Jingming, who is only Third-Order Mid-Tier, handle such a situation?

Just then, Xu Jingming in the distance suddenly stopped in his tracks.

Immediately afterward, Lei Yaoyang saw an utterly shocking scene.

He saw Xu Jingming's golden Lei Ting ability erupt, expanding outward a full 35 meters!

Under the eruption of Lei Ting, the First-Order fierce beasts in the beast horde were annihilated into ash, the Second-Order fierce beasts died on the spot, and only the Third-Order fierce beasts were still standing.

"Just from the ability eruption alone, the range is already this huge?" Lei Yaoyang's eyes went wide, his face full of shock.

He too is a lightning-type ability user, yet as a Third-Order Peak ability user—

his ability eruption can extend outward at most only 30 meters!

"And the power is terrifyingly fierce! It actually annihilated these fierce beasts, which have extremely high lightning resistance, into dregs!

This lightning-type ability has a problem! It's absolutely not just A-rank! Could it be... S-rank?"

Lei Yaoyang thought of one possibility, but quickly denied it himself: "No, it shouldn't be."

He had indeed heard that last year Modu University had a freshman who awakened an S-rank lightning-type ability enroll.

But it's only been half a year—how could a freshman possibly already be Third-Order Mid-Tier?

"It should just be an A-rank ability, only its power is fairly close to S-rank."

Lei Yaoyang could only reason along those lines.

And at this moment, on the distant battlefield, Xu Jingming was gripping his long spear.

He merely charged back and forth through the beast horde a few times, and wiped out all the fierce beasts.

Such a fierce, swift killing style left Lei Yaoyang's several companions staring in stunned disbelief.

Li Ming in particular gaped his mouth into an O-shape and exclaimed in shock:

"Holy crap! So Modu University's people are this fierce?"

On the other side, Xu Jingming also noticed the presence of Lei Yaoyang and his group.

But he paid them no mind, simply opening his own system panel.

"23,000 ability points! I've finally met what's needed for advancement."

Xu Jingming let out a long breath.

Five whole days and nights without closing his eyes—he could already feel his condition slipping noticeably, and even his head was somewhat swollen and aching.

Even if this batch hadn't been enough to gather the ability points for advancement, he wasn't planning to continue.

Right now, he urgently needed to go back and rest.

"Looks like under continuous combat, the most I can last is five days without sleep; six days is still too much of a stretch."

Xu Jingming shook his head, took out an A-rank alloy dagger, and spent over ten minutes collecting fierce-beast materials and Lei He before leaving.

Next, he needed to return to his temporary base first, and then add points.

"Lei-ge, this guy from Modu University is pretty fierce."

Perhaps because Xu Jingming's performance just now had been too dazzling, Lei Yaoyang and his group stood there stiffly for over ten minutes.

Only after Xu Jingming finished collecting materials and left did they come back to their senses.

"He's indeed very strong—put him in our elite training camp and he'd absolutely be in the top tier."

Lei Yaoyang nodded slightly. "He seems to be called Xu Jingming, right? Once we're back I'll look up his info online.

A powerhouse like this shouldn't be unknown at Modu University."

"Indeed."

Li Ming nodded, then asked with some curiosity:

"Lei-ge, if it were you, could you have handled that pack of fierce beasts just now?"

He himself definitely couldn't—at the very most he could slay one Third-Order Peak.

A scale of over a hundred fierce beasts—he simply couldn't cope with it.

"I could, but I couldn't kill them as fast as he did."

Lei Yaoyang said after a moment's thought.

Slaying those nearly a hundred fierce beasts had taken Xu Jingming less than two minutes.

If it were him, it would take at least over five minutes.

Without resorting to combat techniques, his ability eruption could only slay fierce beasts below Second-Order Mid-Tier.

Anything above Second-Order Mid-Tier required him to take them down one by one, and in terms of efficiency, far lower than Xu Jingming's.

"Tsk, even Lei-ge you didn't kill them as fast as him—looks like this guy really does have some real skill.

Lucky he didn't agree to spar at the start, otherwise by the end his face would've probably been beaten swollen!"

Li Ming felt somewhat relieved.

He was still with the other elites from Lei Ting Martial Arts Gym's training camp; if he lost, that would be truly shameful.

"By the way, Brother Lei, in your opinion, can this guy from Mo Da University kill a Class Four beast like you do?"

Li Ming unconsciously compared Xu Jingming with Lei Yaoyang, the strongest among the group.

"If he only has the strength he just showed, he probably can't kill a Class Four beast."

After a moment's thought, Lei Yaoyang replied.

Xu Jingming's thunder is strong, but the Class Four beasts in the Thunderstorm Zone have terrifying lightning resistance—it's hard to break their defense.

"Then it seems Brother Lei is still stronger." Li Ming chuckled, relieved.

Indeed, our Lei Ting Martial Arts Gym is still stronger than the top universities.

On the other side, Xu Jingming quickly returned to his temporary base—a hollow inside a large tree.

"Shen Lan, add points!"

Xu Jingming sat cross-legged in the tree hollow and unhesitatingly clicked the plus sign next to his level on the system panel!

Boom!

In an instant, he felt his physique and spiritual power surge upward dramatically!

The fatigue from days without sleep also eased considerably.

【Name】: Xu Jingming

【Level】: Class Three Upper Tier

【Ability】: Dou Tian Shenlei (SS)

【Physique】: 3087 Qi (+)

【Spirit】: 2601 He (+)

【Skills】: Spear Technique (Master), Tian Lei Shu (Beginner), Mingyu Leikui (Beginner), Lei Shen Zhi (Beginner), Fist Technique (Advanced), Lei Long Quan (Beginner), Lei Mao (Advanced), Lianhuan Lianhuan Lei Qiang (Intermediate), Lei Shan (Advanced), Lei Yu (Intermediate), Dianzhan Jifeng Po (Master), Lianxi Shu (Advanced)

【Body Cultivation】: Lei Bu Mie Shen (Fourth Stage)

【Ability Points】: 146

On the system panel, nearly 23,000 ability points were nearly depleted!

Yet Xu Jingming's level had risen to Class Three Upper Tier, and both his physique and spirit had surged by nearly 500 points!

"Both core attributes increased this much, and my Qi even broke past the 3,000 threshold! No wonder I feel like I swallowed a Ten-Ingredient Supreme Pill."

Xu Jingming stood up, feeling the blood qi in his meridians surge like Jianghe.

More importantly, he sensed that the Dou Tian Shenlei swirling around his body had undergone a tremendous enhancement!

Not only had its power grown stronger, but its maximum range also seemed to have extended by four to five meters.

From 35 meters, it expanded to 40 meters!

Don't underestimate these five meters.

Normally, an ordinary A-rank lightning ability user only reaches a 40-meter range upon advancing to Class Four!

This is the innate advantage of an SS-rank ability!

At the same level, it is always stronger and superior to other abilities!

"I was planning to head back, but now I've regained some energy.

I'll go back to the core zone and observe natural thunder."

Xu Jingming flipped out of the tree hollow and swiftly headed toward the core zone.
