Chapter 348: Experimental Skills

Lin Ye delivered the survivors to the officer and explained the situation to him.

The officer sent people to receive the survivors and had them transported to the rear of the battlefield.

After bidding farewell to the survivors, Lin Ye walked alone towards the church base. He planned to use the mental purification technique to enter the church. If he couldn't withstand it, he would use his special ability to clear the area and then return to the shelter.

After praying for so long, even Lin Ye felt somewhat mentally fatigued.

Not long after, Lin Ye arrived at the church base, pulling the flatbed cart.

The church doors were still wide open, that humanoid creature wearing ceremonial robes was still standing on the pulpit, as if waiting for Lin Ye's arrival.

This made Lin Ye feel a little embarrassed. He hated being late, disliked waiting for others, and disliked even more making others wait for him.

"Sorry I'm late."

Lin Ye took out the Cross Scepter and simultaneously used the mental purification technique.

Lin Ye took a step forward, but instead, he directly crossed the courtyard and arrived near the church doors. This wasn't something he did intentionally;

rather, the church had exerted some kind of influence on him.

He had a feeling that this step should have taken him directly inside the church, but at the last moment, something pushed him out.

The humanoid creature stared at the space behind Lin Ye, waved its hand to close the church doors, and then the entire church moved away from Lin Ye, causing him to reappear outside the courtyard.

Lin Ye took a few more steps towards the church, and the church simply vanished on the spot.

Judging from the spatial fluctuations, it had likely left this plane.

"...It just ran away?"

Lin Ye was speechless. His purification and return plan had failed before it even began.

"Sigh, guess I can only go take a look at the last base."

Lin Ye pulled the flatbed cart towards the last base. He didn't even need to get close before he saw the floating fleshy island in the distant sky.

'Knew it would be this thing.'

Lin Ye stealthily approached the fleshy island. Around it floated a large number of fleshy monsters. These monsters varied in size, some as small as little beasts, others nearly the size of small islands.

Some fleshy monsters were also scattered on the ground, and there were even some plants composed of flesh and blood.

Lin Ye killed the approaching fleshy monsters, and a new Blood Sphere gathered beside him.

But more fleshy monsters fell from the island. Lin Ye was surrounded in the middle, the monsters around him seeming endless.

Spiritual energy and blood raged around Lin Ye. Every time he tore apart a fleshy monster, new blood would be ignited. The burning blood erupted with new energy, which in turn tore apart the surrounding fleshy monsters.

Flesh and energy cycled endlessly, over and over again.

The drained flesh chunks weren't wasted either. Lin Ye stomped them underfoot, constructing a high platform that reached straight into the sky.

Only when Lin Ye ascended the fleshy island, stepping on all the flesh and blood beneath him, did the surrounding fleshy monsters become somewhat sparse.

Lin Ye stepped onto the fleshy island, pulling the flatbed cart towards the island's center. Flesh tore beneath his feet, blood erupted, and numerous fleshy arms grabbed at Lin Ye's legs. A layer of spiritual energy shield blocked the arms, and Lin Ye stepped on the spiritual energy shield, moving forward quickly.

Not long after, Lin Ye discovered the portal erected at the center of the island.

The entire portal's frame was composed of flesh and blood, with a milky white membrane in the middle. This was the first time Lin Ye had encountered such a physical portal.

Lin Ye tried to close the portal but found it completely different from other portals. The previous method of closing them didn't work here.

"Forget it."

Due to excessive mental energy consumption, Lin Ye wasn't in the mood to study new things right now.

Especially new things that would require extensive research and be very troublesome.

Lin Ye directly used the Compressed Spiritual Energy Blade to destroy the portal, but seconds later, the surrounding flesh and blood reconstructed a new portal in that same location.

A smooth black tendril shot out from within the portal, stabbing towards Lin Ye's head.

The spiritual energy shield held for less than half a second. Lin Ye dodged the fleshy tendril. He was just about to counterattack when the fleshy island beneath his feet suddenly tilted forty-five degrees. Lin Ye stepped on a hastily formed spiritual energy shield to barely maintain his balance.

A massive, colorful beast covered in web-like plants was clinging to the edge of the fleshy island, pressing down and tilting the entire island.

The tendril stabbed towards Lin Ye's head again. Behind him, the huge beastial eye of the colorful giant beast stared at Lin Ye, one of its front paws twitching, ready to move.

'Tendril in front, beast behind...'

Lin Ye ignited the remaining blood around him and, using the energy explosion, instantly teleported in front of the portal. He then bypassed the tendril and passed through the portal.

Since it's troublesome to deal with here, he might as well go deal with it over there.

He didn't need to come back anyway.

On the other side of the portal lay a tendril monster. Next to the tendril monster stood a researcher wearing sealed work clothes.

This place seemed to be inside some research center. Fleshy monsters were queuing up near the portal, and in the distance was a production line manufacturing fleshy monsters.

This was somewhat different from what Lin Ye had imagined. He originally thought this side would be a world composed of flesh and blood.

"Call the security team! An enemy has come through!"

That researcher was clearly startled. He still wanted to control the tendril monster to attack Lin Ye, but he was clearly overthinking it.

Lin Ye used a backstab spiritual energy blade to deal with the researcher. He walked over to the tendril monster and began studying it.

He hadn't expected this side to be a human world. This world's biotechnology was very interesting.

A large number of combat personnel carrying various flesh and blood weapons surrounded Lin Ye, but they didn't immediately attack, seemingly waiting for orders from above.

"Aren't you going to carry him away? I purposely left him with a breath. Not many people who have attacked me are still alive. You'd better cherish this opportunity to communicate with me... otherwise, I'll choose another way to communicate with you."

Lin Ye sat on the tendril monster, stroking its flat head. The tendril monster trembled slightly, its flesh responding to Lin Ye's movements.

When they heard Lin Ye speak, those combat personnel were clearly somewhat surprised, but they didn't act on their own, nor did they pay attention to the researcher lying on the ground. After a while, another researcher wearing fully sealed work clothes walked over and approached Lin Ye.

"Greetings, mighty one from another world. What is your purpose in coming here?"

The researcher asked.

"You threw that damned thing over there, and now you're asking me what I want to do?"

Lin Ye wasn't angry;

he just found these people quite interesting.

"That was just an experiment. We didn't know there were intelligent beings over there."

The researcher defended.

"I see. So, will you conduct similar experiments in the future?"

Lin Ye accepted the other party's explanation.

"I can't be sure about that either."

The researcher revealed a smile, looking at Lin Ye with the eyes of someone observing an experimental subject.

"Excellent. I'm a fair person. You conducted one experiment, now it's my turn."

Lin Ye looked towards the nearby surveillance camera and continued:

"This time, I will test a skill. If you still want to conduct experiments in the future, please notify me."
