Chapter 93: Agreeing to Join
"Oh? What exactly do you mean?"
There was a trace of curiosity in Lan Qingyou's tone, but her heart was mostly filled with understanding.
After all, everyone had only been here for a little over a month, and there wasn't even a Level 10 existence yet. If a spatial item of that size truly existed, she would absolutely have to report this guy for hacking.
"This card was researched and developed by the people of the manor. Its functions are roughly the same as the magic desk, but it's a bit more tailored to our needs compared to the magic desk."
Hiss—
Lan Qingyou sucked in another breath of cold air.
Good heavens!
Whose subordinate was this to be so ferocious?!
To actually research the magic desk? And they actually succeeded?
If they used the trading house grids from the magic desk, wouldn't fitting a shelter inside be completely pressure-free?
After all, the trading house grids only had limits on the quantity of stacked items, not on volume.
It was just that because they were used indoors, everyone typically traded 'small items'.
Things that were larger than a door frame, difficult to bring inside, and impossible to divide were fundamentally untradeable.
And yet, the other party had seized upon this exact detail to do the exact opposite. She had to admit, in terms of mindset, the other party's perspective was truly grand.
She felt like this person's line of thought was quite similar to her own.
However, she had wanted to research the magic shield, whereas the other party had focused their attention on the magic desk.
It seemed this manor really was something. Joining it might be beneficial to her.
"If I join, can I get my hands on this thing too?"
Lan Qingyou looked at the item in his hands with blazing passion in her eyes.
If this thing really was similar to the magic desk, wouldn't that mean she could walk around everywhere like Helles?
"Of course. This card serves primarily as an identity verification and convenience tool for the manor's members, so everyone gets one for free. Besides, joining also comes with a newbie welfare gift package."
The moment he heard Lan Qingyou start inquiring about this, Helles knew she was likely tempted.
Newbie welfare gift package...
Lan Qingyou couldn't stop the corner of her mouth from twitching.
Good heavens, were you in sales or insurance back on Blue Star? Don't tell me you made mobile games.
"Alright, I agree to join. But how exactly do I join? Surely it can't be as simple as me just nodding my head, right?"
Lan Qingyou asked half-jokingly again.
Given that it was such a great place where she could even obtain that kind of card for free, it would be unreasonable not to join under these circumstances.
"Of course it won't be that crude."
Seeing Lan Qingyou agree to join, Helles finally breathed a sigh of relief. Following that, he took out another similar card and placed it on the rock from earlier.
"This is..."
Lan Qingyou frowned slightly, not quite understanding his action.
"A card that belongs to you."
Helles backed away another dozen meters and extended his hand in a polite gesture.
"Mine?"
"Yes, it was made before I came to see you."
"It seems your manor has a lot of confidence in yourselves."
Lan Qingyou cocked an eyebrow.
Making a card before even meeting her—didn't that prove the other party was highly confident she would join?
It really was quite a decent organization to at least have confidence in itself.
Then again, it was only natural for an organization where every member possessed a title to have such confidence and capability.
"No, it's our manor."
"Haha, that's true. But if possible, I hope you can leave your card here as well so I can use it as a reference."
Lan Qingyou remained cautious.
"Of course, no problem."
Although Lan Qingyou had agreed to join, it didn't mean he had gained her trust. Helles saw this clearly, so he didn't say much else. He took a few steps forward, placed his card down, and retreated once more.
Besides himself, no one else could use that card anyway, so he wasn't worried about Lan Qingyou snatching it or anything.
What a joke.
A continent-renowned alchemist? He believed she wouldn't stoop to doing such a thing.
Taking a step back, even if Lan Qingyou didn't return it, he could just invalidate it and get a new one. It wasn't a big deal at all.
After Helles stopped backing away, Lan Qingyou flew down, picked up both cards, and flew back to sit on a tree branch near the entrance of her shelter.
This was within the bounds of her shelter. If anything went wrong, she didn't have to worry about being attacked.
Having settled down, Lan Qingyou finally began to carefully observe the two cards.
One had the image of a traveler carrying a rucksack on the front, while the other depicted a tall tower being struck by lightning.
They were no different from the tarot cards back on Blue Star.
Both cards had a number on the back; one was 0, the other was 16.
"You're a 0?"
After examining them closely, Lan Qingyou called down to Helles.
"No, my number is 0. 'The Fool' card."
Helles promptly corrected Lan Qingyou's ambiguous phrasing.
"Oh, so this card of mine is the 16th—'The Tower'?"
"Aren't you the Tower Witch? That's why 'The Tower' card was used when making it. Of course, if you don't like it, it can be changed to something else."
"I can even pick randomly?"
Lan Qingyou paused.
"Haha, it's ultimately just an identity verification item. It doesn't hold any special meaning."
Helles laughed loudly.
"Alright then, I feel like it suits me quite well."
With Helles' explanation, Lan Qingyou didn't mind.
Because her world title was 'Tower Witch', they had prepared 'The Tower' card for her in advance.
'The Tower' representing destruction was the only card in a tarot deck that held no positive meaning regardless of whether it was drawn upright or reversed.
She felt it matched her disposition perfectly.
"How do I use this thing? It feels like there's no response."
Lan Qingyou fiddled with it for a while but found nothing apart from the illustration of the tower.
"Just like the cellphones back on Blue Star, you just need to input your fingerprint onto that sun pattern on the back to bind your identity."
Helles yelled at the top of his lungs.
A cellphone, huh.
So that was it.
Lan Qingyou nodded, then found the pattern on the back.
She originally thought it was just a decorative design, but it turned out to actually be used for fingerprint input.
It seemed Tarot Manor also had experts in terms of design. Perhaps it was that Fool down there who liked to draw.
Ding!
After the fingerprint input was complete, Lan Qingyou heard a crisp notification chime.
Flipping it over again, the original tall tower illustration had been replaced by a black UI.
Written on the main page was: 'Welcome to Tarot Manor. Attacking fellow members is strictly prohibited; doing so will result in being hunted down by all members.'
On the left was a top-down function menu.
It included several functions such as [Cross-Channel Chat 9/9], [Card Positioning], [Group Trading], [Personal Warehouse], [Radar Scan], and so on.
