Chapter 168

Jiang Li asked, "Then what should we do next? What will happen to you?"

The elf shook her head:

"I'm afraid we can only wait until this instance is completely over before I know my final outcome."

"What a pity."

"If only I could see my other companions one last time at the end…"

Listening to the elf's murmuring.

Jiang Li's heart stirred.

Companions of the elf race? Could they be the dark elves under the other black light pillars…

"What do you mean by other companions?"

Jiang Li thought for a moment.

He asked, "Also."

"Do you still remember what exactly you went through before you became an instance monster?"

The elf nodded.

Without Gu Ji, she spoke frankly.

"After repelling the Abyss."

"At that time, the Mother Tree of Life fell into slumber and needed vast amounts of natural crystals and life essence to recover."

"And natural crystals and life essence must be condensed by absorbing the power of life."

"So."

"The Elf Queen and the other elders could only send the other elves off to other forests, to absorb the overflowing power of life within the forests, and condense it into natural crystals and life essence."

"And this process was incomparably long."

"After I came of age, I came to this primeval forest with my other companions as well."

"We spent nearly a hundred years condensing. But one day we were eroded by the power of darkness."

"That is the process before I became an instance monster."

After hearing the elf out.

Jiang Li could not help falling into thought.

Looking at it this way…

The light pillars representing the other dark elves were very likely her companions.

"Mm, I might have some good news for you…"

The elf immediately looked over at him.

Jiang Li said, "In this instance, actually there isn't only you as a dark elf…"

Hearing this.

The elf was immediately overjoyed.

"Not just me…"

"You mean… the other companions very likely also came to this instance?"

Jiang Li nodded: "Very likely."

Getting Jiang Li's affirmative answer, the elf was even more delighted. She could not help stepping forward, her slender fingers tightly gripping Jiang Li's arm, "You… could you help me…"

"Don't worry, I can give you some reward!"

Looking at the elf who was almost pressed up against him.

Jiang Li only felt a faint fragrance at his nose…

He quickly shook his head,

"It's fine. I was planning to go save the other dark elves next anyway…"

Jiang Li did not say this for the elf's sake.

He had never intended to save only one dark elf.

Saving one dark elf might grant a hundred points and instantly shoot him to the top of the leaderboard… but relying on that alone to clinch first place in the end was actually not safe.

If other teams also succeeded in saving one, there was a good chance they would surpass Jiang Li's points.

After all, before this, Jiang Li had not collected even half a natural crystal.

"Th… thank you!"

The elf's eyes shimmered with tears. She excitedly hugged Jiang Li, thanking him again and again.

"Ahem."

Feeling the elf's graceful figure.

Jiang Li was somewhat ill at ease, but he did not push her away… this wasn't his doing.

After a while.

The elf also seemed to notice something was amiss and hurriedly let go, stepping back.

And on her Bai Xi cheeks rose a faint blush.

"Be… before, I forgot to mention."

Then.

The elf recovered somewhat and took the initiative to introduce her name: "I'm called Aliya."

"I'm Jiang Li."

Jiang Li said, "There's no time to lose. Let's go save the other elves now."

"Mm-mm!"

Aleya nodded her small head.

After tidying up slightly, she quickly followed Jiang Li to the locations of the other light pillars.

And at this moment.

Outside.

"Jiang Li..."

"Unbelievable!"

"A one-star warrior actually managed to complete a mission that other teams combined were strength unable to complete."

"And, have you heard?"

"This Jiang Li... before earning one hundred points, was even at the very bottom of the rankings!"

"At that time, Jiang Li had not a single point, which meant he had not collected any natural crystals at all, but went directly to challenge the Dark Elves..."

"Hiss, really? If there were no natural crystals, wouldn't that mean challenging the Dark Elves at full strength? How could anyone possibly win that? I find it hard to believe..."

"A dark horse! An absolute dark horse! No one could have imagined... that Jiang Li, who was the center of attention, after failing his awakening, would suddenly soar to the top in the College Entrance Examination trial!"

"Huff, I wonder if any other teams will complete the Dark Elves mission. If not, then Jiang Li has truly secured the first-place throne..."

"..."

The situation of Jiang Li instantly surging to the top of the rankings continued to ferment.

Some who did not understand well went around asking.

And upon learning the various details of Jiang Li's situation.

Everyone's expressions were wide-eyed with shock, all expressing disbelief.

After failing his awakening, with a one-star profession.

He still participated in the College Entrance Examination trial alone, lay quietly in ambush, and finally seized the top spot in one fell swoop!

Such a

story sounded more and more outrageous the more one heard.

Thus.

quite a few people raised objections.

How could a one-star warrior defeat the Dark Elves, who had no debuffs, all by himself?

At this time.

A person who had been watching the rankings narrowed his pupils and exclaimed in shock again: "This... this is..."

"My heavens! The rankings... have changed again!"
