Chapter 113: I Drive a Business Bentley
In the virtual reality, Qin Feng tirelessly conducted one simulated assault after another, mapping out every possible scenario: the cruise ship's security layout, the Alpha team's response, the hostages' positions, potential intercepts during evacuation… He pushed the Shadow Shuttle's performance to its absolute limit, searching for that single, razor-thin path where success might lie—a dance upon the blade's edge.
Meanwhile, intelligence gathering in the real world was racing against time. After immense cost, Shadow had finally narrowed down a general maritime zone and, combining satellite imagery with specialized surveillance methods, preliminarily identified the target as a luxury cruise ship named Poseidon. The vessel was registered in a Tax Haven, its owner's background complex, frequently visiting private ports across the Mediterranean, its movements elusive.
"Boss, the coordinate range has been sent. But the Poseidon is moving at high speed and possesses some anti-detection capability; its precise location is still drifting and cannot be locked in real time," Shadow's voice carried a hint of helplessness.
Without real-time locking, remote strikes and conventional assaults became extremely difficult.
"Enough." In the virtual reality, Qin Feng's gaze was sharp as a hawk. He needed only a general range and target characteristics. The rest—left to the Shadow Shuttle's transcendent detection system… and his own instinct!
He exited the simulation pod, virtual afterimages of high-speed flight still lingering in his eyes. Continuous high-intensity mental simulation had left him slightly fatigued, but more than that, a cold, all-encompassing sense of control.
"Lei Zhan, are personnel and equipment ready?" he activated the comm.
"Ready! We can depart at any moment!" Lei Zhan's voice was decisive.
"Good. Meet at the rooftop Heliport in one hour." Qin Feng issued the final order.
One hour later, the dedicated Heliport atop the Headquarters Building.
Deep night, only a few navigation lights casting faint glows. Lei Zhan and his six carefully selected Shield team members, fully armed in black tactical suits, heavy packs strapped to their backs, stood like six silent statues in the cool night breeze. Their faces painted with camouflage, eyes sharp, radiating an aura of iron-blooded resolve.
They did not know the exact mission plan, nor how they would reach the distant Mediterranean—but they trusted every one of Qin Feng's orders.
At that moment, a deep, unique engine roar drew nearer. Not the whir of helicopter rotors, nor the scream of jet engines—this sound was heavier, carrying a… metallic, powerful resonance.
All looked up. In the night sky, a massive, streamlined black silhouette descended slowly, its underside ejecting ghostly blue light-flames that stably counteracted gravity. Its entire body was matte black, its design brimming with futuristic tech, utterly alien to its surroundings.
Is that…?!
Even Lei Zhan and his men, seasoned veterans, stared in stunned silence. This was not any aircraft they had ever known!
The aircraft landed steadily on the Heliport; the hatch slid open soundlessly.
Qin Feng stepped out. He wore the same black, specially textured combat suit, making his frame appear even more upright. He wore no helmet; the night wind stirred his hair, his eyes glowing startlingly bright in the dark.
"Boss… this… this is?" Lei Zhan stared at the oppressive aircraft, his throat dry.
"Our transport," Qin Feng said calmly, as if stating the most ordinary fact, "the Shadow Shuttle. My personal Business Bentley."
Bus… Business Bentley?!
Lei Zhan and the team stared at the menacing, domineering-shaped hull, clearly designed with weapon interfaces, then at the roaring ghostly blue energy exhausts—each of their mouths twitched involuntarily.
You call this a Business Bentley?! Whose Business Bentley looks like this?! This is clearly a small aerospace fighter!
Qin Feng seemed to read their thoughts. He smirked slightly, tapping the cold armored shell of the Shadow Shuttle, his tone laced with mockery:
"What? Doesn't look like it? Spacious, fast, excellent privacy, vertical takeoff and landing—perfect for business travel."
He paused, his gaze sweeping over the stunned team, then turned serious:
"Enough staring. Board. We're running out of time."
"Yes!"
Suppressing the storm within, Lei Zhan and the team boarded swiftly and orderly. The interior was even more spacious than it appeared from outside—clean, tech-laden layout, comfortable pressure-resistant seats, holographic control interfaces lining every surface, once again shattering their understanding.
Qin Feng sat in the pilot's seat (he had fully mastered the controls in virtual reality), fingers sliding rapidly across the Holographic Screen.
"Navigator, lock onto the target sea zone, plot a stealth route, maximum cruise speed."
"Command confirmed. Route planning… Shadow Shuttle, departing."
The deep engine roar returned; ghostly blue flames erupted. The Shadow Shuttle rose smoothly and steadily, accelerated instantly, like a phantom dissolving into the night, streaking southwest—gone within seconds, swallowed by the endless sky.
Inside the cabin, feeling the smoothness and acceleration far surpassing any commercial airliner or fighter jet, watching the city lights outside blur and recede at breakneck speed, Lei Zhan and the team exchanged glances—each seeing boundless shock in the others' eyes.
They finally understood what Qin Feng meant by "long-range deployment."
With this transcendent aircraft, where in the world could they not go?!
One young team member couldn't help whispering to Lei Zhan: "Boss, the Boss's 'Business Bentley'… is just too damn awesome!"
Lei Zhan shot him a glare, yet his own heart churned violently. He took a deep breath and growled: "No chatter. Check gear. Prepare for combat!"
He gazed at the steady back in the main pilot's seat, filled with unprecedented confidence and reverence.
Following a Boss like this… perhaps, miracles really are possible.
The Shadow Shuttle tore through the night sky, crossing continents at an almost absurd speed, heading straight for the perilous Mediterranean.
The rescue operation had begun—in a way no one could have foreseen.
Qin Feng declared by action: in his dictionary, there is no such thing as impossible. Whether rescuing lives… or crushing enemies.
