Chapter 121: Hello Everyone! My Name Is… How Are You Here?

~8 min read 1,412 words

The successful unveiling of the North America branch and the boost in team morale marked Qin Feng's solid first step in his layout in Luocheng. Yet, his purpose for this trip extended far beyond this. Beneath the surface of official business activities, a covert investigation into the Prometheus Foundation and Liu Shiyin was quietly advancing under the full operation of the Shield intelligence division.

That day, the branch organized a team-building activity for newly hired employees, held at an expansion training camp near Luocheng renowned for innovation and teamwork. Qin Feng decided to attend personally—partly to further bridge the gap with his staff, and partly to change his environment and sort through his tangled thoughts.

The training camp was nestled in a picturesque valley, equipped with advanced facilities and challenges meticulously designed. Employees were randomly divided into small groups, led by professional instructors through tasks requiring high levels of trust and collaboration.

Qin Feng declined a private arrangement and joined a random group. He changed into ordinary sportswear, suppressed most of his aura, and blended into the employees, appearing no more than a good-looking ordinary colleague.

His group happened to include the new employee David, who had previously been too nervous to use the restroom, several veteran staff transferred from headquarters, and a few locally recruited members from North America.

The first activity was "Trust Fall." A team member stood on a raised platform, stood straight, and fell backward, while teammates below formed a "human bed" with their arms to catch him. This tested the falling person's courage and the teammates' sense of responsibility.

Several timid employees stood on the platform, legs trembling, hesitating for a long time before daring to fall. When it was David's turn, his face turned pale; he stared at the "human bed" formed by his teammates, which didn't look particularly sturdy, and swallowed hard.

"David, believe in yourself, believe in us!" shouted the group leader, a capable woman transferred from headquarters.

David looked at his teammates' encouraging eyes, then sneakily glanced at Qin Feng, standing behind the crowd, arms crossed, expression calm. He gritted his teeth, closed his eyes, and fell straight backward!

The fear of weightlessness seized him instantly—but the next second, he landed firmly on his teammates' solid arms!

"Success!"

A cheer erupted below. David was set down, his face flushed with excitement; he instinctively looked toward Qin Feng's direction and saw his boss give him a slight nod, eyes carrying a hint of approval.

David instantly felt a surge of strength throughout his body!

In the following activities—high rope bridge, crawling through electric net, blind square formation—Qin Feng made no deliberate effort to stand out, yet his superior physical condition (Life Enhancement effect), calm judgment, and strong leadership subtly influenced the entire group. Under his quiet guidance, this initially awkward team surged ahead, their cohesion skyrocketing.

At noon came the buffet barbecue and free mingling time. The valley was bathed in bright sunlight, the atmosphere light and cheerful.

Qin Feng held a juice cup, sat on a bench beneath a large tree, watching employees nearby gather in small groups, grilling and chatting freely. A faint smile appeared on his face. This atmosphere, free from scheming and purely simple, brought him rare relaxation.

At that moment, a clear, slightly timid female voice sounded beside him:

"Um… hello, is this seat taken?"

Qin Feng turned and saw a young Asian girl, early twenties, with a ponytail, wearing the camp's uniform T-shirt, hesitantly pointing to the other end of the bench. Her face was flushed from exercise, her eyes large and clear, radiating an unspoiled innocence.

"No, please sit." Qin Feng shifted slightly, his tone gentle.

"Thank you!" The girl sat down happily, holding a plate of slightly charred chicken wings. She seemed naturally sociable; after sitting, she immediately started chatting: "Are you new here? I don't think I've seen you before. I'm Lin Wei, a new intern in marketing! What about you?"

Lin Wei? Intern?

Qin Feng looked at her bright, curious face and found it amusing. He didn't reveal his identity, only smiled and followed her lead: "I'm Qin Feng. I guess… I'm new too."

"Qin Feng? Wow, your name is the same as our boss's!" Lin Wei widened her eyes in surprise, then stuck out her tongue and lowered her voice, "But you definitely aren't him—how could the boss come to an activity like this and sit here dressed like this?"

Qin Feng couldn't help chuckling. This girl was refreshingly simple.

"Maybe he's here, and you just didn't recognize him?" he said half-jokingly.

"Impossible!" Lin Wei shook her head firmly. "I haven't met the boss in person, but I've seen photos and videos! He's super handsome! And his aura is incredible! Nothing like you…" She scanned Qin Feng up and down, searching for the right word, "... like a nice neighbor big brother!"

Neighbor big brother? Qin Feng touched his face, his smile deepening.

They chatted casually. Lin Wei was talkative, chattering about her first impressions of Luocheng, her hopes for her job, and her admiration for the mysterious boss. Her innocence and vitality made Qin Feng's mood even lighter.

After a while, the whistle for group assembly sounded.

"Ah! Time to gather! Nice meeting you, Qin Feng… brother?" Lin Wei stood up, unsure how to address him, then smiled and waved, running toward the assembly point.

Qin Feng also stood, watching her back, shaking his head. Was this some strange coincidence?

The afternoon's activity was the final large-scale team collaboration challenge—the "Escape Wall." A four-meter-high, smooth vertical wall required all team members to climb over without any tools.

This demanded strong organization, cooperation, and sacrifice. Some volunteered as human ladders, letting teammates climb on their shoulders; those who reached the top had to pull the others up with all their strength…

The process was arduous, filled with sweat and shouts. Qin Feng still interfered little, only using his immense arm strength at critical moments to firmly pull up a few weaker teammates, including the intern Lin Wei.

When the last member successfully climbed over, the entire team erupted in deafening cheers! Everyone, regardless of rank or nationality, embraced and high-fived, a powerful sense of collective pride and belonging surging within each person.

After the event, a summary and award ceremony was held in the training camp's auditorium.

The instructor gave special praise to Qin Feng's group, commending their teamwork and final performance.

"Now, let's invite a representative from this outstanding group to share their thoughts!" the instructor said with a smile.

Group members deferred to each other; finally, someone pushed from behind, sending the intern Lin Wei stumbling forward.

Lin Wei, caught off guard, blushed and walked awkwardly to the stage. She took the microphone, looked out at the sea of faces below, and her heart pounded with nervousness.

"D…dear everyone! I'm Lin Wei, an intern in marketing…"

She took a deep breath, steadying herself, her gaze instinctively searching the crowd for the "neighbor big brother" who gave her comfort. Soon, she spotted that tall figure at the back.

Seeing Qin Feng's encouraging gaze, Lin Wei felt instant strength; her voice steadied: "Today was truly joyful—completing so many challenges together! I learned a lot, especially about teamwork…"

As she spoke, her eyes kept drifting toward Qin Feng. Looking at his handsome face with its gentle smile, an unbidden thought suddenly surfaced—she blurted out without thinking:

"... most importantly, I met a great colleague who gave me so much encouragement…"

Before she finished, her gaze locked onto Qin Feng, and she instinctively added:

"... Qin Feng brother, how are you here?"

The words, amplified by the microphone, echoed clearly throughout the entire auditorium.

In an instant, the auditorium fell utterly silent.

All eyes turned first in confusion toward Lin Wei, then, following her dazed gaze, fixed with disbelief on the young man at the back of the crowd—wearing ordinary sportswear, his face bearing a faint, helpless smile.

David dropped his water bottle with a "plop." The branch's general manager gaped. Veterans from headquarters stared in shock. Local North American employees exchanged glances.

Lin Wei, seeing the auditorium freeze and everyone's horrified stares, finally realized what she'd done. She clapped both hands over her mouth, eyes wide as saucers, staring at the "neighbor big brother" slowly rising from the crowd—her mind blank.

In the absolute silence, Qin Feng slowly stood, sighed helplessly, and addressed the petrified Lin Wei on stage and the stunned crowd:

"Yes, I am here."
