Chapter 227: Big Sister! Wake Up!
The trip to Suicheng brought immense gains due to Mu Bai's unexpected appearance, but Lilith's consecutive provocations and ambushes had undoubtedly added another deep crack to the already tense relationship between the New Era and Pandora. After Qin Feng returned to the New Era, he did not immediately launch direct retaliation against Pandora; his attention was entirely absorbed by Mu Zhaoxue's research materials and the Watchers Honor and Responsibility Badges. But this did not mean he would tolerate Lilith's endless petty maneuvers.
Several days later, a carefully screened and processed "Gift" was delivered via an untraceable anonymous channel to the headquarters of the Pandora Group, onto Lilith's desk.
It was a plain metal box, with no name, no origin label.
Lilith frowned and signaled her subordinates to conduct a strict security check; only after confirming there were no explosives or biochemical hazards did she open it herself.
Inside the box were no threats, no warnings—only a stack of high-definition photos and a ordinary USB drive.
The contents of the photos caused Lilith's pupils to contract sharply, her face instantly turning ashen!
The photos clearly captured her nephew—the young man who had organized the "protests" in Suicheng and foolishly claimed credit—engaging in disgraceful behavior at multiple private gatherings: surrounded by lovers in a secret private club, eyes glazed; gambling wildly at a table, piles of chips towering before him; even a few sharply angled, blurry images of him conducting secret transactions with individuals of sensitive status… Each one was enough to destroy his reputation—and bring considerable trouble to Pandora.
The contents of the USB drive were even worse: more photos from additional angles, plus several clear audio recordings of her nephew boasting, leaking non-core but still sensitive company information, and making foolish promises for personal gain.
This was no Gift—it was the most direct warning and humiliation!
Qin Feng was telling her this way: every move you and your idiot nephew make is under my control. I could obtain these so easily—I could do far more. Last time, I made your nephew socially dead; next time, it might not stop there.
"Bang!"
Lilith violently swept the metal box and its contents onto the floor, her chest heaving, violet eyes blazing with humiliation and fury!
How dare he! How dare he humiliate her with such tactics!
This was more unbearable than sending assassins! It was condescending contempt—exposing and trampling underfoot the most shameful aspects of her and her family!
"Qin Feng—!!!" She let out a stifled shriek, the sound echoing through the empty office.
At that moment, the office door was knocked on; her nephew, having heard rumors, pushed in nervously.
"Auntie… I heard…" He hadn't finished speaking when he saw the photos scattered across the floor and Lilith's murderous gaze—his face instantly turned pale, frozen in place.
Lilith whirled around, locking her eyes on him, her gaze like poisoned blades, wishing to carve him into a thousand pieces!
It was this useless, incompetent fool! If he hadn't bungled his mission and left so many incriminating traces, how could Qin Feng have retaliated so easily? How could she have suffered such a humiliating disgrace!
All her rage, all her frustration, found an immediate outlet right before her.
She rushed forward, raised her hand—in her nephew's terrified eyes—
"Slap!"
A thunderous slap struck his face with full force!
The blow was so powerful the young man staggered backward, crashing into the doorframe; half his face swelled instantly, a trickle of blood seeping from his lip.
"Worthless! Idiot! Look at what you've done!" Lilith pointed at the photos on the floor, her voice trembling with extreme rage, "I sent you to handle matters—and this is how you handle them?! Besides drinking, gambling, whoring, and causing trouble for me, what else can you do?!"
The young man was stunned, clutching his face, both wounded and terrified, babbling incoherently: "Auntie… I… I didn't mean to… it was those people…"
"Shut up!" Lilith refused to hear his excuses; to her, he now looked like a pile of revolting trash. The dark thought rose uncontrollably again—had I just strangled him back then…
The more she thought, the angrier she became, the more she blamed him for everything—he had dragged her down! She lunged forward, grabbed his collar with one hand, and with the other, her fingers curled—she truly raised her hand as if to strangle him!
The young man, terrified by the unmasked madness and killing intent in his aunt's eyes, screamed in panic: "Auntie! No! I'm sorry! I really know I'm wrong!"
Just as her fingers were about to touch his neck skin, perhaps his screams jolted her last shred of reason, or perhaps the word "Auntie" stirred the faintest thread of kinship—her motion froze.
She stared at his twisted face, twisted by terror, at his eyes and brows faintly resembling her brother's when he was young. Her heaving chest gradually calmed; the madness in her eyes faded, replaced by deep exhaustion… and revulsion.
She released him, as if touching something filthy, and shoved him away.
The young man collapsed to the floor, gasping for breath, staring at her as if she were a stranger.
Lilith turned her back, no longer looking at him, her voice cold and weary, carrying an irrevocable command:
"Get out."
"From today, freeze all accounts under your name, remove you from every position in the Group. Without my permission, you are not to set foot outside the estate again."
"Otherwise…" She tilted her head slightly, her peripheral vision sweeping over the photos on the floor—the implication was clear.
The young man felt as if granted amnesty, scrambling and crawling out of the office, forgetting even to close the door.
The office was once again empty, save for Lilith and the mess on the floor.
She slowly walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the bustling city outside—but felt no warmth, only boundless cold… and an indescribable loneliness.
She had lost again, defeated so utterly, so shamefully.
And that man hadn't even lifted a finger—he had merely sent a box, and she had nearly strangled her own nephew.
She closed her eyes, the image of her nephew's terrified gaze and her own moment of uncontrollable madness echoing in her mind.
A voice, as if rising from deep within her soul, carried a hint of self-mockery and icy clarity:
"Lilith… look at yourself now…"
"For a man who doesn't care about you… you've driven yourself to this…"
"Big sister! Wake up!"
This inner cry made her shudder violently.
Was she really… going to keep going like this?
The thought flashed and vanished, instantly drowned by deeper obsession and resentment.
No! She could not give up!
The harder it was to obtain, the harder to conquer, the more she must obtain! The more she must conquer!
Qin Feng—our battle is not over!
She took a deep breath; the doubt and wavering in her eyes vanished, replaced by renewed coldness and resolve.
She pressed her communicator, her voice restored to its usual calm, now carrying an even deeper chill:
"Send someone to clean this up."
"Also, connect me to Shadow Snake's communication line."
She needed stronger, more secretive, more ruthless power.
This war had only just begun.
