Chapter 287: Let His Entire Family Die With Him

~7 min read 1,224 words

Xia Wan resonated with her Bloodline Power through song, skillfully disabling the hidden traps; this novel experience stirred her spirit, intensifying her awareness and desire to control her own power. The two faced no further obstacles and reached the top floor without hindrance.

The atmosphere on the top floor was utterly different from below. The corridor, carpeted with thick rugs, was silent; the air carried a faint, electronic-device-like odor, and a barely perceptible… energy radiation. Security here was clearly far stricter, featuring multiple layers of identity verification gates, and concealed, deadlier defense systems embedded within the walls and Ceiling.

But under Qin Feng's near-omniscient perception, all these arrangements were meaningless. He walked as if through his own backyard, precisely avoiding every blind spot and energy scan, guiding Xia Wan like an invisible ghost straight to the heavy, double-doored entrance at the corridor's end, forged from special alloy.

Here was the "Director's" office—and the entrance to the secret laboratory below.

Inside.

In the spacious, luxurious office, resembling a five-star hotel suite, the man codenamed "Director" paced restlessly. He was around forty, dressed in a tailored Italy suit, his hair combed immaculately, yet his eyes radiated a sinister, ruthless intensity. Before him, a massive desk displayed several surveillance screens, most now filled with static; only a few still showed normal footage from other areas of the building.

"Useless! All of you are useless! Has the tech team found the cause yet?!" he roared into the communicator, his voice twisted by rage. The feeling of losing control made him deeply uneasy.

"Chief, the interference source cannot be locked—it appeared… out of nowhere. We suspect a highly skilled infiltrator…" came the terrified voice from the communicator.

"Infiltrator?" The "Director"'s eyes sharpened. "Activate the 'Cleanse Protocol'! Release all test subjects! I want to see who dares make trouble on my turf!"

The moment he finished speaking.

The heavy alloy door of the office suddenly emitted an extremely faint, ear-piercing sound of metal warping!

Next, before the "Director"'s horrified gaze, the door—capable of withstanding rocket strikes—collapsed inward like rubber clay being crushed by an invisible hand, its center violently caving in before exploding open!

A young man in dark casual attire and a somewhat youthful girl entered calmly, as if returning home.

It was Qin Feng and Xia Wan!

"Who are you?!" The "Director"'s pupils contracted sharply as he barked, his hand instinctively reaching for a hidden button beneath his desk—connected to the highest-level alarm and self-destruct system.

Yet before his finger touched the button, his entire body froze as if petrified by a spell, unable to move even a single fingertip. A cold, vast, primordial pressure—like an invisible mountain—crushed him utterly!

Qin Feng did not even look at him. His gaze swept the opulent office, finally settling on the wall at the rear, seemingly decorative, embedded with a massive one-way glass panel. Behind the glass, faint outlines of precision instruments and control panels blinking with colored indicator lights were visible.

That was the entrance to the secret laboratory.

"So you're the one in charge here," Qin Feng said calmly, as if stating an established fact.

The "Director" was drenched in cold sweat, his teeth chattering uncontrollably. He had roamed the dark world for years, encountered countless ruthless figures—but never before had he felt such utter despairing pressure! This man was not human—he was a monster!

"W-what do you want?!" the "Director" gasped through clenched teeth. "This… this is Shadow Council property! If you touch this place, the Council will never let you live!"

"Shadow Council?" Qin Feng repeated the name, a faint, almost imperceptible mockery in his tone. "Soon, they won't exist."

A casual remark that plunged the "Director" into an icy abyss.

At that moment, hurried, chaotic footsteps and bestial, growling roars echoed outside the office—the "Cleanse Protocol" had activated. The imprisoned, failed—or semi-finished—"test subjects" of the Godmaking Project had been released!

"Ha! You're finished!" The "Director"'s eyes flashed with madness and cruel delight. "My children have come! They'll tear you to shreds!"

The footsteps and growls rapidly approached the office door.

Xia Wan instinctively clenched her fists; her Bloodline Power accelerated through her veins, preparing for battle.

Yet Qin Feng didn't even glance toward the door.

He simply raised his hand toward the one-way glass wall, fingers slightly spread, then gently pressed downward.

No earth-shattering roar. No burst of energy light.

But the noisy footsteps and frenzied roars outside instantly… ceased!

As if erased by an invisible hand in an instant!

Only then did a thick stench of blood slowly drift in through the open doorway.

The "Director"'s mad grin froze, replaced by utter terror and disbelief!

His genetically modified, fearless test subjects… just… gone?!

Without even a semblance of resistance?!

What… what kind of being is this man?!

Qin Feng lowered his hand, as if brushing off dust. For the first time, his gaze settled formally on the "Director"'s contorted, terrified face.

"It seems your 'children' aren't obedient," Qin Feng said with icy indifference. "Then, as their parent, shouldn't you… take responsibility?"

The "Director" trembled violently; the shadow of death engulfed him entirely. He forgot all dignity and loyalty, sobbing and pleading: "N-no… don't kill me! I… I can tell you the Council's secrets! I know so much! Important intelligence! I can serve you!"

Qin Feng looked at his pitiful form, his eyes utterly unmoved.

"Intelligence? I don't need it."

He paused, then spoke the words that shattered the "Director"'s last hope:

"You touched what's mine… and still expect to live?"

"Let his entire family die with him."

These words were not spoken to the "Director," but to the air—or rather, to some unseen Rule Force.

The moment he finished speaking!

The "Director"'s body stiffened violently; his eyes bulged, filled with infinite terror and Pain. His mouth opened wide, yet no sound emerged—as if an invisible hand had seized his throat and simultaneously crushed the hearts of all his blood relatives scattered across the globe!

The next instant.

Thud.

The "Director" collapsed straight down, pupils dilated, breath gone.

Moreover, in distant corners of the world, several individuals with direct blood ties to him—all at the same moment, without warning—suffered sudden cardiac arrest and died instantly.

Words become law—remote execution!

And it was… a genocidal annihilation!

Xia Wan stood beside him, witnessing this unimaginable yet chillingly brutal scene, feeling a coldness surge from her soles to the crown of her head. Though she had no mercy for enemies, Qin Feng's method—transcending physical laws, directly decreeing life and death, even extending to entire families—left her profoundly shaken and awestruck.

Is this the fate of those who anger the Master?

Qin Feng didn't look at the corpse on the floor. He turned and walked toward the one-way glass wall.

He released a trace of Rule Force.

The sturdy special glass, along with its complex identity verification system, shattered like fragile eggshells, revealing the brightly lit, high-tech secret laboratory beyond.

"Follow me."

Qin Feng said something to Xia Wan, who was still dazed, then stepped inside.

Xia Wan snapped out of it, took a deep breath, suppressed the flutter in her heart, and hurried after him.

She knew this "purge" operation was far from over.

The mere glimpse of his power that the Master had shown had given her a completely new, far more reverent understanding of the word "strength."
