Chapter 157: Unexpected Situation, Match Postponed

Very quickly, the second semi-final match began.

Zhou Chu versus Jiang Chen.

One is this year's College Entrance Exam Top Scholar, the other is the person ranked first in overall strength at Shenxia University.

This semi-final duel undoubtedly became the focus of everyone's attention for the entire Individual Tournament.

The Protection Barrier that had been cracked by Zhou Chu earlier was once again brand new after a brief repair using the core Crystal.

Everyone present cast their eager gazes onto the competition stage.

Xing Wanying was the referee for this match and immediately called out the names of the two opponents.

Zhou Chu steadied his mind and walked from the waiting area to the competition stage.

However, it was strange to say, from beginning to end, Jiang Chen's figure was nowhere to be seen.

Xing Wanying frowned and raised her voice again to call out: "Jiang Chen, please enter the arena as soon as possible, the match is about to begin."

Yet, the only response she received was silence; Jiang Chen still did not appear.

The audience below the stage began to whisper and discuss among themselves.

"What's going on with Big Brother Jiang Chen? He wouldn't have forfeited, would he?"

"That's impossible, right? Jiang Chen is the person ranked first in strength at Shenxia University, how could he do such a thing?"

"That's hard to say. Everyone has seen Zhou Chu's strength; even Senior Lin Yue was easily defeated by him. Jiang Chen might really be feeling unsure."

"How could that be? After all, he is someone who awakened an SS-Rank Soul Profession, how could he be afraid of a freshman? If it were me, I would definitely go up! I haven't even seen what the God-Fallen Land looks like yet."

Zhou Chu stood on the competition stage, his heart also filled with doubt.

Could this be the way the number one person in Shenxia makes an entrance?

The airs he puts on are a bit too grand.

Even after being called for so long, he still refuses to appear.

Just as everyone was speculating and expressing their dissatisfaction, Yu Dafu stood up from the viewing platform and said into the microphone: "Students, please remain calm. We have already sent people to look for student Jiang Chen. Before he arrives, the match will be temporarily postponed."

Sure enough, people with big reputations have different ways of doing things.

The entire match was postponed and delayed just for Jiang Chen alone.

Helpless, Zhou Chu could only return to the waiting area to wait.

Time passed second by second, the patience of the audience on the sidelines was gradually worn away, and feelings of dissatisfaction continued to spread.

"How long do we have to wait?"

"I think Jiang Chen is scared and doesn't dare to come."

"Is Jiang Chen coming or not? If he's not coming, they should just declare Zhou Chu the winner."

"Exactly, exactly. What's so great about being number one in Shenxia? Can he just forfeit whenever he wants?"

After another few minutes, a staff member ran hurriedly to Principal Yu Dafu, whispered a few words in his ear, and then hurried away.

Principal Yu Dafu's expression changed slightly, then he picked up the microphone again and said: "Students, I have just received news that student Jiang Chen has encountered some accidents and is currently dealing with them. This year's Peak Elite Tournament will be postponed. The specific time will be notified later. Please understand."

The match was actually postponed?

This is something that has never happened in the history of the Peak Elite Tournament.

Just because of Jiang Chen alone, the entire match was called off for him; it really is the treatment befitting the number one in Shenxia.

A wave of boos suddenly erupted from below the stage.

Because they were unable to watch this highly anticipated duel, many students felt very disappointed.

The students began to leave one after another.

Yu Dafu, who was sitting on the viewing platform, immediately stood up from his seat, suddenly soared into the air, and headed straight for the waiting area.

At this moment, Zhou Chu, who was in the waiting area, also heard the news and pondered to himself.

Jiang Chen didn't come to participate in the match, and it was actually because he encountered an accident?

Isn't he the number one person at Shenxia University? What kind of accident could he have encountered that he couldn't solve?

Just as Zhou Chu was thinking about this in his mind, Yu Dafu arrived gracefully in front of him.

Seeing Yu Dafu's solemn face, he thought for a moment and said: "Student Zhou Chu, after thinking it over, I feel there is one thing that must be handled by you."

Zhou Chu was taken aback and asked: "Principal, does this matter have anything to do with Senior Jiang Chen?"

Yu Dafu nodded and said: "It is also because this matter involves the military, so the school has no right to interfere."

Zhou Chu heard Yu Dafu mention the military but didn't say exactly what the matter was. For the sake of caution, he could only smile and say: "Principal, since it is a matter involving military intervention, why look for me? Wouldn't it be more appropriate to leave this matter to Senior Shi Yu?"

"Senior Shi Yu is the one who is actually in the military."

Unexpectedly, Yu Dafu said: "Alright, don't put on an act in front of me. Even if others don't know, I know about the great achievements you have made on the front lines."

Zhou Chu waved his hands quickly: "Principal, you are overstating it. They can't be called great achievements; at best, it was just a small scuffle, and it was all down to luck!"

Yu Dafu gave Zhou Chu a look of annoyance: "You kid, you're actually being modest in front of an old man like me."

"If I didn't have some friendship with Long Aofei of the Exorcism Army, how would I know that there is such a big shot from the military in my Shenxia University."

"If I'm not mistaken, you were the one who tampered with the hidden Copy in the Dungeon Area, the Lost Land, right?"

"Principal Yu, even you know about that?" Zhou Chu said in surprise.

Yu Dafu glared at him and said: "Do you think Bai Ping could hide the fact that his daughter went missing from others, and hide it from me?"

"Let me tell you, the Lost Land is actually a forbidden area in the Shenxia University Dungeon Area. I am the one who knows best what the scene inside the Copy is like."

"If I'm not mistaken, that Lich King must have been subdued by you, right?"

After hearing these words from Yu Dafu, Zhou Chu was unable to refute them and could only nod sheepishly: "Principal Yu is truly like Zhuge Kongming reborn; you really are as wise as a god, nothing can be hidden from you."

Yu Dafu was even amused to the point of anger: "Smooth talker! That Monster Bomb of yours must have been created by that guy."

"I have studied the Lost Land for so many years and never thought of a proper way to deal with it. I didn't expect it to be solved by you?"

"Was this also down to luck?"

Zhou Chu touched his nose, smiled embarrassedly, and said, "Principal Yu, please go ahead, what exactly is the matter?"

Yu Dafu then cleared his throat and said with a serious face, "I want you to make a trip to the northern Calamity Front, go to a wild Copy called Nightmare Land, and bring Jiang Chen back."

"I suspect that Jiang Chen acted on his own initiative, preparing to destroy Nightmare Land by his own strength. He must have encountered danger at this moment and is unable to escape."

Zhou Chu couldn't help but frown: "Nightmare Land? It doesn't sound like any wild Copy, but more like a suddenly emerged Demon Cave."

Yu Dafu was stunned for a moment, then quickly nodded and said: "To use the military's specialized term, it is indeed a Demon Cave. However, I don't know the specific situation very well; I only know that the one controlling this Demon Cave is a King-level Calamity demon."

"I think, since you can even subdue a King-level demon like the Lich King, then you must have a way to deal with this Calamity demon."
