Chapter 47: The Arrogant Wang Defa

Hearing these words, Qin Ze felt his anger surge.

In his childhood memories, the Wang Family had always bullied and oppressed others in the village.

He never expected that nowadays, they would dare to bully his own family.

His Second and Third Uncles also tried to dissuade him:

Qin Shougang and the other two also exited the vehicle, standing behind him.

Wang Defa was watering flowers in the courtyard; hearing the commotion, he walked out.

He was a man in his fifties, short and stout, balding, wearing a shirt and western-style trousers, with a cigarette holder in his hand.

Following behind him was a young man in his twenties with dyed Huang Mao hair, presumably his son.

"Oh, isn't this Qin Shougang? Why leave your nice city life to return to the village?"

Wang Defa exhaled a puff of smoke.

"And you even have time to drop by my house?"

Qin Shougang stepped forward:

"Wang Defa, what do you mean by occupying our homestead land?"

Wang Defa Laughed:

"What 'your' homestead land? That plot has been barren for over ten years; it no longer belongs to your Qin Family long ago."

"It's ownerless land with no one on it; do I need to report to you if I occupy it?"

"My household registration is still in the village; the land is mine!" Qin Shougang shouted.

"Oh ho, quite loud-mouthed," Wang Defa's son, Wang Xiaolong, stepped forward, pointing at Qin Shougang.

"Old thing, giving you face, are we? Dare to speak to my father like that?"

Qin Ze pulled Qin Shougang behind him and stepped forward himself.

"Village Head Wang, that plot is our Qin Family's homestead land, backed by a land certificate. Your unauthorized occupation constitutes illegal encroachment."

Wang Defa sized up Qin Ze:

"So you're Qin Shougang's son? Kid, do you know where this is? This is Qin Family Village! Here, I call the shots!"

"You call the shots?" Qin Ze raised an eyebrow.

"Does the law also answer to you?"

"The law?" Wang Defa sneered, looking like a shameless ruffian, deliberately raising his voice with impunity.

"In this village, I am the law! If you have the ability, go sue me!"

Wang Xiaolong joined in the clamor:

"Go ahead and sue! See if anyone pays you any attention!"

Qin Ze did not get angry; instead, he smiled.

He then pushed forward his Mobile Phone, which was already recording video, aiming it directly at Wang Defa.

"Village Head Wang, say it again: you are determined to take that land?"

Wang Defa paused for a moment, then puffed out his chest:

"Exactly! I'm taking it! So what? In this village, I call the shots!"

Wang Defa boasted arrogantly:

"I've been Village Head for over ten years; everything in this village is decided by me! What are you Qin Family worth? Couldn't make it in the city, so you came back to beg?"

Qin Shougang trembled all over with rage.

His second and third uncles also turned ashen.

Qin Ze continued recording:

"Village Head Wang, you've occupied my homestead plot and threatened us; I've recorded all of it."

Wang Defa's expression changed:

"What are you recording? Give me that mobile phone! Delete that video right now!"

Qin Ze laughed: "What if I don't delete it?"

"Don't delete it?" Wang Defa's eyes turned vicious.

"Then don't expect to walk out of this village in one piece today!"

"In this village, if you're a dragon, you must coil; if you're a tiger, you must lie down!"

"Delete what's on that phone immediately, then get lost! I'll pretend this never happened."

"Otherwise, just try it."

The words had just left his mouth when two burly men emerged from nearby courtyards.

They appeared to be members of the Wang Family clan; the group crossed their arms and blocked the entrance.

The atmosphere instantly turned tense.

The three Qin brothers felt both urgent and furious, but they were vastly outnumbered.

The second uncle sighed:

The third uncle added:

Qin Ze said nothing, took out his mobile phone, and pulled up last night's call.

He dialed.

After two rings, it connected.

"Hello, Mr. Qin?" It was Xiao Li's voice.

"Director Li, there's something I need your help with," Qin Ze said, getting straight to the point.

"Please go ahead!"

Qin Ze recounted the incident of the occupied homestead plot.

"I have video evidence; I can send it to you."

Silence lasted a few seconds on the other end of the line.

The second uncle shook his head:

Qin Ze put down his mobile phone and looked at Wang Defa.
