Chapter 68

~9 min read 1,793 words

Xiao Na was currently doing a project on her own at the company!

But because of the higher-ups, the project funds were never in place!

So Xiao Na's previous idea was to find someone to invest!

And then finish this game project to prove herself!

But now, Xiao Na had changed her mind!

If Qin Ze really had money and was willing to invest in her!

Then she could totally take her team and go out to start a company of her own!

But Xiao Na knew in her heart!

This kind of thing couldn't be brought up too directly!

Facing Xiao Na's question, Qin Ze didn't take the bait and replied casually:

"Not big, just investing in some studios! Small companies!"

"Living off luck!"

For the rest of the time, Qin Ze chatted, drank, and ate with Xiao Na, Fatty Wang, and Song Bin!

After eating, Qin Ze checked the time; it was already past nine in the evening.

Qin Ze stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window of the hotel room, holding a cigarette.

Wang Peng was slumped on the sofa, muttering drunkenly:

"Old Qin... are you just going to let Zhou Hao, that grandson, off like that?"

The room's lighting was soft, and there were a few empty wine bottles on the coffee table.

Song Bin sat nearby, still relatively sober, just his face was a bit red.

Xiao Na sat upright on a single sofa, holding a teacup, her eyes clear.

Qin Ze turned around and blew out a smoke ring.

"Do you think I'm the kind of person who would smile and say it's okay after being stepped on?"

Wang Peng struggled to sit up, his eyes shining:

"Then what are you planning to do?"

"Let's not talk about this for now." Qin Ze walked to the coffee table and stubbed out his cigarette.

"Fatty, what's Zhou Hao's specific situation right now? How much do you know?"

Wang Peng rubbed his temples, trying hard to recall:

"Just... doing e-commerce, I heard them say they rented half a floor of office space in the Jiuzhou Building. They seem to be selling clothes or something, and the livestreaming room is doing that 'source factory' routine."

"What kind of car does he drive?"

"The one he drove today was an Audi A8, a new model; I specifically looked at the license plate, Jiang A38776."

"That car was so conspicuous parked in front of the hotel, and he deliberately honked the horn twice, afraid others wouldn't know he was driving a luxury car."

Qin Ze nodded and took out his phone to record the license plate number.

"What's his company's name?"

"It's called... Haoyu E-commerce, yes, Haoyu E-commerce."

"I heard they cooperate with several clothing factories and are doing some supply chain thing, bragging all day about how awesome they are."

Qin Ze recorded all this information in his phone's memo.

"Fine, I know now."

He stood up.

"You guys sit for a bit; I'm going to the restroom."

Qin Ze walked out of the room, didn't go to the restroom, but walked to the window at the end of the corridor and dialed Brother Hu's number.

The phone rang twice before it was answered.

"Brother Qin!" Brother Hu's voice was very energetic, "Calling so late, what are your instructions?"

Qin Ze got straight to the point: "Help me check someone."

"Who? Tell me, Brother Qin!"

"Zhou Hao, runs an e-commerce company called Haoyu E-commerce in the Jiuzhou Building. License plate Jiang A38776, drives an Audi A8."

"You should be able to check him easily if you look into the e-commerce circle!"

Qin Ze paused.

"Mainly check if this person has any dirt! See if there's a way to get to him, set him up, and make a good profit off him."

Brother Hu immediately said:

"No problem, Brother Qin! Give me three days, and I'll dig up his ancestors eighteen generations back!"

"The focus is on dirt—the darker, the better. If there really isn't any, start with his suppliers and see if you can find some leverage." Qin Ze added.

"Understood!" Brother Hu chuckled.

"Brother Qin, did this guy offend you?"

Qin Ze sneered: "Spent fifty thousand yuan to treat him to a meal tonight; that money can't be spent for nothing."

"Whoa! Fifty thousand?" Brother Hu exclaimed, "Then we definitely need to make it back! Don't worry, Brother Qin, I'll definitely handle this beautifully!"

Hanging up the phone, Qin Ze looked at the night view of Jiangcheng outside the window, his eyes turning cold.

As long as he could get some leverage on Zhou Hao, he could make him suffer.

When Qin Ze returned to the room, Wang Peng was already asleep on the sofa, snoring like thunder.

Song Bin checked his watch, a bit anxious:

"Brother Qin, I have to go. I have a date with my girlfriend tonight, meeting at 9:30; if I don't go now, I'll be late."

"Girlfriend?" Qin Ze raised an eyebrow, "Binzi, you're doing alright; you can even date a local from Jiangcheng while in the county?"

Song Bin scratched his head embarrassedly:

"We dated in college; her family is in Jiangcheng. After graduation, I went back to the county, and she stayed in Jiangcheng to work; we've been in a long-distance relationship for two years."

"That's really not easy." Qin Ze picked up his car keys, "Let's go, I'll take you."

"No need, no need!" Song Bin waved his hands repeatedly, "I'll just take a taxi; it's very close."

"Enough nonsense." Qin Ze pulled him toward the door, "It's hard to get a taxi at night; I'll take you, it'll be faster."

He turned to look at Xiao Na: "Xiao Na, what about you?"

Xiao Na stood up: "I should go back too."

She paused and glanced at Qin Ze: "But before I go, is there something I can talk to you about privately? Just a few minutes!"

Qin Ze looked at Song Bin, then at the drunken Wang Peng.

"Fine, then do this." He said to Song Bin, "Wait for me for five minutes; I'll have a few words with Xiao Na, and then we'll go downstairs together."

"Okay." Song Bin nodded.

Qin Ze took Xiao Na out of the room and into the corridor.

"What is it?" Qin Ze leaned against the wall and lit a cigarette.

Xiao Na bit her lip, as if she had made a big decision.

"Qin Ze, I didn't tell the truth just now."

"I actually... work at Tengyi Network now, as a technical department team leader."

Qin Ze nodded and said nothing, waiting for her to continue.

Xiao Na took a deep breath:

"My team developed a game project, but the company doesn't value it and won't provide funding. The project has been stuck for half a year with no progress."

"If you're really willing to help me start a company, I can take the whole team out, establish a separate company, and finish the game."

Qin Ze took a puff of his cigarette: "What type of game?"

"A casual sandbox game; the gameplay is simple but very addictive. We've tested it internally, and the retention and payment rates are very high."

Xiao Na spoke quickly, clearly very confident in this project.

"As long as it launches, I'm confident I can break even in three months and be profitable in six."

"How much money do you need?"

"Initially... five million." After Xiao Na finished speaking, she looked at Qin Ze tentatively.

Five million.

This wasn't a small number.

But Qin Ze had no expression on his face, only asking:

"Do you have a project plan or anything?"

"I have to understand it clearly before I invest money!"

Qin Ze thought highly of Xiao Na! But that didn't mean he would spend his money blindly!

"Yes!"

Xiao Na said hurriedly.

"I have an electronic version on my phone, as well as test data, market analysis, and competitor research—it's all very complete."

"Send it to me, I'll take a look; if there's no problem, money is not an issue."

Xiao Na's eyes lit up:

"Really?"

"I keep my word." Qin Ze stubbed out his cigarette, "But you have to promise me one thing."

"What thing?"

"If you take the team out, you and I will split the dividends 60/40—I get 60, you get 40!"

Qin Ze looked at her.

"After all, I have to support the subsequent funding too!"

"No problem!" Xiao Na nodded vigorously.

"I understand all that; there won't be a single agreement missing that should be signed."

"Qin Ze, thank you."

Seeing Qin Ze agree, Xiao Na couldn't believe it for a moment—getting Qin Ze to invest was actually this easy.

Qin Ze smiled:

"Don't thank me; I do investments, I look at projects to invest money—it's only natural."

The two returned to the room, and Song Bin had been waiting a bit anxiously.

"Brother Qin, if we don't leave now, I'll really be late."

"Let's go, let's go." Qin Ze patted Wang Peng, who was still snoring, "Fatty, I'll book a room for you; you stay here tonight."

Wang Peng mumbled a 'hmm' in his sleep, turned over, and continued sleeping.

Qin Ze called the waiter, booked a room for Wang Peng, and had someone help him over.

Then he took Song Bin and Xiao Na downstairs.

In the underground parking lot, Qin Ze unlocked the Yangwang U7.

The headlights flashed, and the streamlined body shimmered with a metallic luster under the lights.

Song Bin and Xiao Na were both stunned.

"Is this your car?" Song Bin asked, stuttering.

"Yeah." Qin Ze pulled open the car door, "Get in."

Song Bin walked around the car, his eyes wide:

"Yangwang U7? This car must cost over eight hundred thousand, right?"

"Nine hundred thousand on the road."

Qin Ze sat in the driver's seat.

"Stop looking, get in quickly; aren't you in a rush?"

Song Bin and Xiao Na hurriedly got in.

The interior was spacious and luxurious, with leather seats and a large screen on the center console.

Song Bin sat in the passenger seat, touching this and that:

"Brother Qin, your car is too cool!"

Xiao Na sat in the back, looking at Qin Ze's back, her eyes complex.

She knew the price of the Yangwang U7 and also knew that someone who could drive this kind of car had a net worth of at least ten million.

Qin Ze just said he would invest five million—maybe he really wasn't bragging.

The car drove out of the parking lot and merged into the traffic.

Qin Ze asked Song Bin while driving:

"Where is your girlfriend?"

"At Wanda Plaza; she said she's waiting for me at Starbucks."

"Fine, we'll be there in ten minutes."
