Chapter 73: Picking Up Jiang Ru
Just as they were speaking, Qin Ze's gaze casually swept over the top of Jiang Xin's head.
A semi-transparent status panel floated into view there.
【Jiang Xin, Rating: A】
【Occupation: Bank Clerk, Emotion: Envy】
【Wishes: Wants to get utterly drunk tonight, wants to find redemption, wants to max out monthly performance】
【Dilemma: Living alone in Jiangcheng for work, no friends, already suffering from moderate depression!】
Qin Ze was stunned.
So far, based on the previous case of Lin Xiaoxi, he could confirm that this system allowed the rating for each woman to be improved.
Just as Lin Xiaoxi's work abilities were fully utilized, her rating immediately jumped from A to S.
Therefore, Qin Ze felt that an A-grade rating was nothing special, especially since this Jiang Xin was so beautiful.
But among these three wishes, what did "wants to find redemption" mean?
And this depression...
Just as Qin Ze was pondering, Jiang Xin had already finished all the transactions and walked over.
"President Qin, the procedures are complete."
"Shall we go to the restaurant now? I've already made a reservation."
"Let's have a proper chat once we get to the restaurant!"
Qin Ze snapped out of his thoughts and nodded.
"Let's go."
The two walked out of the bank.
Jiang Xin's car was a white Toyota, parked by the roadside.
"President Qin, would you like to take my car?" Jiang Xin asked.
"I drove here myself." Qin Ze pointed to the Yangwang U7 nearby.
Seeing the car, Jiang Xin's eyes lit up again.
"Then... may I ride in your car?"
"Sure."
Qin Ze unlocked the doors, and Jiang Xin got into the passenger seat.
The interior space was spacious, and the decor was luxurious.
Jiang Xin looked left and right, unable to hold back her sigh of admiration.
"President Qin, your car is truly handsome."
"It's alright." Qin Ze started the engine. "Where shall we eat?"
"I know a nice private kitchen; the environment is good, and the food tastes great too," Jiang Xin said. "It's not far ahead."
"You give directions."
The private kitchen restaurant was located in a small alley; the storefront wasn't large, but the decoration was very elegant.
The female boss saw Jiang Xin and greeted her warmly.
One look made it obvious that Jiang Xin came here often!
"Manager Jiang is here? And this gentleman is..."
"My client, President Qin," Jiang Xin introduced.
"Hello, President Qin!" The female boss nodded with a smile.
"Please come inside; I've saved a private room for you."
The two entered the private room.
The room wasn't large, featuring a small round table, two chairs, and an ink wash painting hanging on the wall, giving it great style.
Jiang Xin ordered several signature dishes and requested a pot of tea.
While waiting for the food, she poured a cup of tea for Qin Ze.
"President Qin, thank you so much today."
"Thank me for what?" Qin Ze asked.
"Rushing for end-of-month performance, I sent messages to dozens of clients, and you were the only one who replied."
"And not only that, you actually came today just like that."
"Depositing money so readily—you have no idea how much this helps me."
Jiang Xin's tone was sincere.
Qin Ze took a sip of tea.
"Surely the bank has quite a few wealthy clients; it shouldn't be this hard to worry about performance targets."
Jiang Xin gave a bitter smile.
"President Qin, the way you put it..."
"With the current economic environment being poor, out of ten bosses who look prosperous in various industries, seven or eight actually have no money; those taking loans always outnumber those depositing."
"Moreover, high-quality clients are extremely rare; competition between banks is fierce, and even within the same bank, the competition among employees is even more intense."
She paused, looking at Qin Ze.
"Having one stable, high-quality client is better than anything else."
Qin Ze nodded.
He sized up Jiang Xin.
"By the way, where are you from?"
Jiang Xin paused for a moment, not expecting Qin Ze to ask this.
"I'm from Shangjing."
"Shangjing?" Qin Ze raised an eyebrow. "Then how did you end up in Jiangcheng?"
"I interviewed here right after graduation and have been here for three years."
"Alone?"
"Mm."
Jiang Xin lowered her head, rubbing her teacup with her fingers.
"I don't have many friends in Jiangcheng; usually, aside from work, I just go home."
Qin Ze looked at her.
"Then recently... how has your mood been?"
Jiang Xin lifted her head, a trace of wariness flashing in her eyes.
"President Qin, why are you asking this?"
"I've studied psychology; your complexion doesn't look good. Is the pressure too great recently?"
Qin Ze lied off the cuff.
Jiang Xin fell silent for a few seconds.
"It is a little."
"Not just a little." Qin Ze stared into her eyes.
"I guess... you might already be showing signs of depression."
Jiang Xin's eyes widened suddenly, her face full of astonishment.
"You... how do you know?"
Qin Ze chuckled inwardly.
It was written right on the status panel.
But his face remained calm.
"I also know that you want to drink tonight."
Jiang Xin was completely shocked.
She looked at Qin Ze, her lips trembling slightly.
"President Qin, did you... did you investigate me?"
"Why would I investigate you?" Qin Ze shook his head. "I just observed it."
He paused, then added,
"A person's emotions show on their face; although you keep smiling, your eyes are empty, and you subconsciously avoid eye contact when speaking—these are typical symptoms of depression."
Jiang Xin stared blankly at him, unable to speak for a long while.
The dishes were served one after another.
The private room fell silent once more.
Jiang Xin picked up a piece of braised pork for Qin Ze.
"President Qin, please try this; it's their signature dish."
Qin Ze took a bite; the taste was indeed quite good.
"Mm, delicious."
Jiang Xin picked up a piece for herself and ate it in small bites.
After a while, she suddenly spoke up.
"President Qin, everything you said just now... is correct."
She put down her chopsticks, her voice very soft.
"I was indeed diagnosed with moderate depression half a year ago. The doctor prescribed medicine, but I haven't taken much of it; I always feel that pills can't solve the problem."
"Usually, when I'm home alone, sometimes I can't sleep all night, scrolling on my mobile phone until dawn, yet I still have to get to work on time the next day."
"The work pressure is high; sometimes I really feel... it's quite meaningless."
Qin Ze listened quietly, not interrupting her.
Jiang Xin continued speaking.
"Wanting to drink tonight is also true. Whenever I'm extremely troubled, I want to get myself drunk so I don't have to think about anything."
"But drinking alone feels even worse..."
"So, President Qin, when you said just now that you could tell I wanted to drink, I was truly... very surprised."
Qin Ze poured her a cup of tea.
"If you have time, I'll treat you to drinks tonight."
Jiang Xin was stunned.
"You're treating me?"
Qin Ze nodded. "I happen to have nothing planned tonight either; let's find a quiet place, have some drinks, and chat."
Upon hearing that Qin Ze wanted to treat her to drinks!
The smile on Jiang Xin's face became much more genuine.
"Then what time tonight?"
Qin Ze checked the time. "I still have some matters this afternoon; I'll come to the bank to pick you up at seven."
"Okay!"
For the rest of the time, Jiang Xin was noticeably much more relaxed.
While eating, she answered Qin Ze's various questions about opening a bank account and corporate finance.
Qin Ze asked in great detail, and Jiang Xin answered with professional expertise.
The two chatted while they ate, the atmosphere harmonious.
After finishing the meal, Qin Ze rushed to pay the bill.
Leaving the bank! Qin Ze glanced at the time; it was two-thirty in the afternoon.
He took out his Mobile Phone, found the WeChat ID of Jiang Wan's younger sister Jiang Ru, and dialed.
The call connected quickly.
"Hello?" A crisp female voice came through.
"Jiang Ru?" Qin Ze asked.
"It's me. Are you... Brother-in-law?"
"Mm," Qin Ze said. "Your sister asked me to pick you up today. What time do you arrive in Jiangcheng?"
"I'm almost there!" Jiang Ru's voice was excited. "I estimate I'll reach the station in another ten-plus minutes!"
"So fast?" Qin Ze was stunned. "Didn't your sister say you'd arrive in the afternoon?"
"I bought a ticket for an earlier train," Jiang Ru said with a Laugh.
"Alright, then wait at the station and don't run around. I'll be there in fifteen minutes."
"Okay!"
Hanging up the phone, Qin Ze turned the car around and drove toward the bus station.
At the Jiangcheng Bus Station, crowds surged.
Qin Ze parked the car by the roadside and dialed Jiang Ru's number.
"I've arrived. Where are you?"
"I'm at the exit, wearing a white T-shirt and jeans."
Qin Ze got out of the car and walked toward the exit.
From afar, he spotted Jiang Ru.
A tight white T-shirt, light blue ripped jeans, and a pair of white canvas shoes on her feet.
Her hair was dyed chestnut brown and tied in a high ponytail, revealing a smooth forehead.
She wore light makeup, her lips coated with glossy lip gloss.
Her figure was excellent; the T-shirt was stretched bulging, the jeans wrapped her long legs, and her buttocks were full.
She looked youthful and energetic overall, yet carried a Trace of slight sexiness.
Qin Ze walked over.
"Jiang Ru! Over here!"
Jiang Ru turned her head, saw Qin Ze, and her eyes lit up.
"Brother-in-law!"
She jogged over, her ponytail swaying behind her.
Qin Ze smiled.
"Let's go; the car is over there."
"Okay!"
Jiang Ru followed behind Qin Ze, her gaze fixed on him the entire time.
Reaching the Yangwang U7, Qin Ze unlocked the doors.
Jiang Ru's eyes widened.
"Yangwang U7!" Jiang Ru exclaimed. "I've seen it on short videos; this car must cost over eight hundred thousand, right?"
"About that," Qin Ze said, opening the car door. "Get in."
Jiang Ru sat in the passenger seat, touching left and right.
"So cool!"
Qin Ze started the car and merged into the traffic flow.
"Your sister asked me to pick you up and take you to the apartment; she won't be in Jiangcheng these few days."
"I know," Jiang Ru nodded. "She told me, said she went on a business trip."
She paused, then suddenly leaned closer and asked in a low voice.
"Brother Qin Ze, what stage have you and my sister actually reached?"
Qin Ze glanced at her.
"Don't pry into things you shouldn't."
"Oh, just tell me!" Jiang Ru pouted. "My sister tells me nothing, only saying I should follow you and work hard."
Qin Ze didn't respond.
Jiang Ru didn't mind and continued speaking on her own.
"This time you asked me to come; is it to let me work at the apartment under my brother-in-law?"
"Mm," Qin Ze nodded.
"First, you'll learn under the apartment's Manager, mainly assisting and familiarizing yourself with management work."
"Later, I will Arrange things for you; when the time is ripe, I'll transfer you to your sister's side."
"By then, both of you can work for me together."
Jiang Ru pursed her little lips.
"Doesn't that mean both my sister and I have become your people?"
She tilted her head, looking at Qin Ze.
"Brother-in-law, you really know how to scheme!"
Qin Ze chuckled.
"What kind of talk is that!"
"I'm just stating the facts." Jiang Ru blinked. "My older sister works for you now, and so do I; we sisters are both in your grasp."
Qin Ze shook his head.
"Although I'm close to your sister, you still need to work hard."
"Here, ability is what matters most."
"Got it." Jiang Ru waved her hand.
"My sister and I, since childhood, have always shared every good thing, using one and the same."
She paused, then cast a meaningful glance at Qin Ze.
"Brother-in-law, you're so kind; surely you'd be willing to let me bask in your glory, right?"
