Chapter 100: Vicious mind at a young age

~8 min read 1,438 words

Fang Rong let out a cry the moment his father kicked him. Fang Youcai no longer had his previous arrogance and overbearing manner; he pressed his son's head down, bent his waist, and apologized to Jiang Guomin: "Elder Jiang, it is my fault for failing to discipline my son. This whole matter is my son's fault; please do not let it anger you and harm your health."

Jiang Guomin let out a cold snort and turned up his grandson's sleeves. "Jiang Rong's palms are bruised from being stepped on, his arms are covered in bruises, and this is not the first time!"

Fang Youcai's eyes dimmed instantly. He moved his lips for a long time before explaining: "The child is still young. I hope you can give him a chance to correct himself!"

Jiang Chao was furious. "Give him a chance to keep being a bully at school?!"

Last night, Pei Huaiye went to find Jiang Chao, and only then did Jiang Chao know his son was being bullied at school.

His wife had never been accepted by the Jiang family, so he had broken ties with his father for her sake. Later, his wife passed away, leaving behind young Jiang Rong, and his father had instead secretly helped him in business time and time again.

But on the surface, the two still appeared to be at odds.

Jiang Rong had lost his mother, and Jiang Chao was busy with his black market business every day. He often saw his father crying alone in front of his mother's photo. In order not to worry his father, he never said a word when he was bullied at school.

After his daughter-in-law passed away, Jiang Guomin had always wanted to reconcile with his son, but he suffered from a lack of opportunity.

He never expected that last night, he would bring his grandson home...

After some inquiries, Jiang Guomin discovered that Fang Rong had not bullied Jiang Rong just once or twice.

"Vicious mind at a young age! Just because my grandson's name is the same as his, he bullies him all day long! Now you want to let it go with two painless apologies?"

Principal Chen tried to smooth things over. "Elder Jiang, please don't be angry. How do you want to handle this? Our school will cooperate seriously!"

"A student with such corrupt morals should be expelled!"

"Why expel me! Dad, are you hitting me?!" Fang Rong shouted, only to be slapped twice by Fang Youcai.

Their family's power wasn't enough to contend with the Jiang family. "Elder Jiang, we apologize to classmate Jiang Rong and classmate Su Qingxi. Please forgive us. Can you not expel my son?"

Jiang Guomin's gaze was somewhat icy. "Principal Chen, it seems your school needs to investigate this thoroughly. You go and find out exactly how many classmates Fang Rong has bullied, and you will know what to do."

Principal Chen had a massive headache. Before he could even give orders, the students gathered outside the windows were pointing at Fang Rong and recounting their past experiences of being humiliated and beaten.

Fang Rong cried softly. Fang Youcai had lost all his dignity, apologized to Su Qingyue and Elder Jiang again, and slunk away with his child.

"Little girl, was it you who helped stand up for our Jiang Rong?" Jiang Guomin bent down and asked Su Qingxi.

Su Qingxi smiled modestly. "Grandpa, it was me. I'm just glad Jiang Rong is okay."

Jiang Guomin was still softly praising Su Qingxi to Su Qingyue when Principal Chen saw this and had Gao Ying bring over Su Qingxi's exam results.

"This girl hasn't studied, but she got over eighty in both Chinese and math. Let her study in the second grade directly."

Su Qingyue smiled and pointed to the other children, asking Principal Chen, "Our other children will still enroll in preschool here as normal, right?"

"That's for sure. The tuition has been paid. Let the children go to the classroom."

Widow Liu and Xiang Jianming were both very happy to hear this, and the teachers took the children to the classroom.

Principal Chen bowed to Jiang Guomin and said, "We will investigate the matter regarding Fang Rong thoroughly. If it is true, we will absolutely handle it seriously! We will give you an explanation!"

Jiang Guomin nodded in satisfaction and left. Jiang Chao looked at his father's retreating back, having a thousand words to say but not knowing how to start.

Pei Huaiye patted him on the shoulder. "Take it slow. Bring the child home for dinner more often."

Jiang Chao smiled. "Fine, I'll bring my younger brother and sister over as guests in the future."

The children had all gone to the classroom. The second-grade head teacher, Teacher Li, praised Su Qingxi's spirit of helping others on the podium.

Jiang Rong clapped his little hands below.

After Su Qingxi introduced herself gracefully, she sat with Jiang Rong.

Jiang Rong's little face was flushed red.

Widow Liu and the others were all worried about the children's first day of school and didn't feel at ease until they picked them up at the school gate after school.

"Liu Shu, did anyone bully you?" Widow Liu asked busily.

"Everything is fine, Mom. Now no one dares to bully us."

Xiang Jianming also held his two little grandsons' hands. "Are Xiaoqiang and Xiaole getting used to it?"

Xiang Xiaole said with a smile, "Used to it. There are even classmates sharing candy with us."

Xiang Jianming was happy and felt relieved. Su Qingyue was also very happy to learn that her younger sister was sitting at the same desk as Jiang Rong; no one should be able to bully them in the future.

Pei Huaiye drove the bull cart, and Su Qingyue discussed, "You guys all sit on it and see. If you can all fit, you can take the bull cart to school in the future."

There were 7 little children in total, and they just happened to fit on the bull cart.

Widow Liu had originally been worried that the children's bus fare would be an expense, but hearing Su Qingyue's arrangement, she revealed a grateful smile.

Xiang Jianming said happily, "Then our family and Pei's boy will take turns driving the bull cart. If it rains, the children can take the bus together."

The little children were all very happy and couldn't help but cheer a little. Su Zhuangzhuang liked the excitement; he held Xiang Xiaole with his left hand and Liu Shu with his right, happy enough to reveal a row of little white teeth.

Shuangshui Village.

Su Qianqian was on the threshing floor talking to a group of women and aunts about the village children's schooling.

"If it weren't for Su Qingxi fighting, these children would have been able to go to school."

"They haven't been back for so long, have they finished class?"

"Who knows, maybe they're still dealing with the expulsion..." The last two words hadn't even left her mouth when someone next to her poked her arm.

"Look! Look! Everyone is back. The children look quite happy; it doesn't look like they were expelled."

An aunt greeted Su Qingyue and the others. "Children, did you just get back from school?"

Su Zhuangzhuang pulled his little voice and said, "Yes, Auntie, we studied for a day, and our stomachs are hungry."

Su Qingyue rubbed his little head. "I'll make you something delicious when we get home."

Su Qianqian widened her eyes in disbelief, her fingernails digging tightly into her palms.

But Widow Liu and Xiang Jianming were both smiling, showing off to the villagers that the children had performed well at school and had even been praised by the teacher.

Behind them followed Shen Xunbao. Su Qianqian's expression stiffened. "Brother Shen, why are you following behind them? Where did you go yesterday?"

Shen Xunbao subconsciously wanted to touch the black mole on his right ear. "I went to the newspaper office to submit a manuscript and stayed at a friend's house for the night."

Shen Xunbao pulled Su Qianqian home. "This is the manuscript fee. The previous money was all spent on finding people to earn work points for you. Don't lose your temper."

Su Qianqian looked at the two large ten-yuan bills in her hand and made up with Shen Xunbao with red eyes again.

Shen Xunbao was held by the arm by Su Qianqian and resisted the discomfort in his heart. Widow Liu looked at Shen Xunbao, but the other party didn't give her a glance, even though he clearly saw her. ===== CHAPTER 101 =====
