Chapter 362: Qin Feng was beaten until he howled
Lin Meng rolled her eyes, then she took the lead and walked into the Spirit Gathering Array, crouching in front of the white egg.
"Uncle, you're thinking too highly of me."
Qin Feng grinned, wiped his face, and stepped into the Spirit Gathering Array.
The next second, he felt a spring breeze brush his face, his body inexplicably relaxed a bit, and his mind seemed much clearer.
How strange, what's going on?
Qin Feng looked around; nothing seemed to have changed, yet why did he feel the whole environment had shifted, the air suddenly much fresher?
Qin Feng sat down beside Lin Meng with a hint of hesitation, his gaze falling on the white egg.
"What kind of egg is this? How is it so big?"
An ostrich egg is already big, but this white egg is actually three times the size of an ostrich egg.
Lin Meng casually said, "It's a dinosaur egg."
Upon hearing that, Qin Feng immediately gave Lin Meng a white-eye, knowing she was joking.
"You just leave the egg here like this, without putting it in an insulated box—can that really work?"
Lin Meng shook her head and said:
"This egg is just a little toy; you actually think there's such a big egg, Uncle—you're really naive."
Qin Feng: "……"
Lin Meng naturally couldn't tell Qin Feng the truth about the white egg; even if she did, Uncle might not believe her, so she made up a lie to get by.
This beast egg was nearly draining her spirit stones; she had thought it would hatch imminently, but these past few days it had shown no movement at all.
Lin Meng now wasn't sure she could get it to hatch; of course she still prayed daily that the little creature inside would emerge soon, otherwise the spirit stones she'd poured in would be wasted.
Qin Feng stood up and strolled around the white egg.
Soon he discovered cat grease.
Sometimes when he walked far away, he would feel that sense of exhilaration vanish all at once.
The closer he got to the white egg, the fresher the air became, making him feel so comfortable he didn't want to leave.
After thinking, Qin Feng couldn't help but ask curiously:
"Ni Zi, does this big white egg have some kind of magic? Why do I feel completely at ease when I'm near it, the air turning very fresh, but once I go beyond a certain distance, that feeling disappears?"
Qin Feng worried his senses were off, remaining doubtful until Lin Meng gave him a mysterious smile.
"Uncle, your perception is still quite sharp—good. The air around this white egg is indeed special, but I can't tell you why for now; you'll find out eventually when you get the chance."
Seeing Lin Meng pose a riddle, Qin Feng instead felt his curiosity piqued unbearably.
But Lin Meng's demeanor didn't look like she'd spill the beans, so Qin Feng suppressed his urge and stood up.
"Alright, I won't ask more—let's begin, let's spar a bit."
Lin Meng nodded, thought a moment, and said:
"I don't have any protective gear—how about we go light?"
Qin Feng took one look at Lin Meng's slender arms and legs, immediately nodded, thinking he mustn't hurt the little girl, or he'd look like a big man who's unfair as an elder.
The spar officially began; Qin Feng's every move looked proper and polished, while Lin Meng's movements resembled those of a novice.
Even so, after a few rounds, Qin Feng hadn't touched even a corner of Lin Meng's clothing or a strand of her hair.
By contrast, Lin Meng handled herself with ease, occasionally landing a hit on Qin Feng.
After a couple more rounds, Lin Meng remained calm, while Qin Feng grimaced, especially the backs of his hands, which Lin Meng had slapped red and burning.
"How are you like a loach, impossible to grab or hit, yet when you strike it hurts like crazy—look at my hand back, did you treat it like a cucumber to slap?"
Lin Meng grinned, seeing Qin Feng get worked up, and couldn't help but laugh:
"Uncle, this is just the tip of the iceberg; you haven't seen anything more impressive yet."
Qin Feng objected, shouting: "Again!"
The ensuing spar turned into Lin Meng one-sidedly crushing Qin Feng, like a cat toying with a mouse—one grimacing and yelling wildly, the other relaxed and carefree.
The one yelling and flailing seemed busy with lots of movement, but actually caused zero harm—just pointless exertion.
Meanwhile, the seemingly leisurely Lin Meng could make Qin Feng ache like a boiled shrimp with just a casual punch.
Of course, Lin Meng held back her strength the whole time, never going all out.
With her current strength, Uncle's body truly couldn't withstand a full punch—he'd be down after half a blow.
"I can't, I can't—I'm done, you little girl really have some skill, I concede, I surrender."
Qin Feng was already panting from exhaustion, yet still couldn't land a hit on Lin Meng; meanwhile, if Lin Meng hadn't held back, he'd probably be bruised all over by now.
Lin Meng stopped, smiling at the exhausted Qin Feng sprawled on the ground.
"You surrendered? Convinced?"
Qin Feng waved his hand in surrender; he truly hadn't expected Lin Meng to be this strong.
It wasn't that her techniques were exceptionally strong or her skill superb—just that her speed and strength far surpassed ordinary folks, no wonder Cheng Feng would say she had great talent.
Qin Feng looked at Lin Meng and couldn't help but say:
"Really hard to tell, you look so slender-armed and slender-legged, yet you're this formidable—Uncle, tell me the truth: is this ability innate, or did you secretly practice before?"
Lin Meng spread her hands and said:
"Neither; I got this from taking elixirs."
Qin Feng's eyes widened as he blurted: "Nonsense, I know the elixirs you mean—aren't they just those big tonic pills concocted by old charlatans? Some do help the body, but it's absolutely impossible to become like this from eating them."
"Besides, the more miraculous the elixir's reputation, the higher its price—one can cost hundreds of thousands—but I don't buy it."
Worried Lin Meng might be deceived, Qin Feng quickly added:
"Little girl, you've been through a lot, you even paid off your grandfather's debts, and now you live in a villa of this caliber—don't go believing in that stuff recklessly, or you'll lose your fortune."
Lin Meng knew Qin Feng meant well, so she smiled and said:
That pill isn't the kind you said; my pill is not ordinary. Uncle, do you know why I can earn so much money in the Short Term?
Qin Feng heard the words, first stunned, then suddenly his eyes widened, and he jumped up with a whoosh.
Girl, you must never do such things; selling fake medicine is not allowed!
I thought the pill Lin Meng mentioned was bought, but I didn't expect she herself was the one selling the pill!
This way, many things can be explained!
Qin Feng has always wondered why Lin Meng could rise so quickly.
Clearly, she was just a college student with nothing, guarding the ancestral home in the village, unable to pay back even a cent of debt.
But not long after, this girl was like winning the lottery, paying off all her debts at once.
Even more extravagantly, she bought a luxury car and a mansion, spending less than half a year in total.
Qin Feng couldn't figure it out: the Lin Family had no connections or background, so how did they suddenly rise so quickly?
So, she's been secretly selling the pill herself!
