Chapter 283: The Sea Divided in Two! (First Update)

Only to see Lafitte instantly appear above Nami's head,

thrusting a sword straight down from the air directly at Nami's brow!

Nami's eyes suddenly widened,

filled with the fear and despair of facing death!

Although she desperately wanted to sidestep this sword strike,

at such close range,

her body simply could not react in time,

leaving her able only to watch helplessly as the sword blade, flashing with cold light, drew ever closer to her!

Just as this sword was about to strike Nami's brow squarely,

and deliver a fatal blow,

the sword tip, gleaming with cold light, suddenly stopped!

Just a few centimeters away from Nami's brow,

it halted abruptly,

advancing not a single inch further!

At the same time,

a man's voice sounded from behind Lafitte.

"Do you wish to die?"

Hearing this familiar voice,

Nami suddenly snapped back to her senses,

and looked up toward the space behind Lafitte!

Only to see spiritual power surging around Li Xiao,

who hovered in mid-air,

one hand gripping Lafitte's wings tightly!

30 At this moment,

Lafitte's face turned pale with shock,

and he frantically flapped the pair of wings behind him,

struggling with all his might,

yet he was still firmly held by Li Xiao with just one hand,

unable to move a single bit!

"Grow a pair of wings, and you truly think yourself a bird-man?"

Having said that,

only to see Li Xiao suddenly exert force with his right hand,

grabbing Lafitte by the wings and hurling him backward,

sending him crashing straight toward Blackbeard, who was fighting Luffy.

Seeing this,

Blackbeard immediately kicked Luffy away,

then leaped backward,

dodging the flying Lafitte,

showing no intention whatsoever of catching his crewman!

With a tremendous boom,

the ground was seen to be smashed directly into a deep pit!

Lafitte landed face-first,

and under the immense impact,

his entire head was driven into the earth,

leaving only his body remaining on the surface!

At this moment,

Lafitte looked utterly wretched!

The slender sword he had hidden inside his cane was nowhere to be seen,

and the black top hat on his head had been smashed right through,

leaving only the brim looped around his neck!

And under Li Xiao's forceful throw,

a patch of feathers on the wings behind Lafitte was ripped straight off,

leaving a bald spot on those snow-white wings,

looking extremely conspicuous!

This Lafitte, who had effortlessly driven Nami and Chopper into a desperate situation,

in Li Xiao's hands,

was nothing more than a casual flick of the wrist!

However,

Li Xiao's strike was, after all, merely a casual flick,

and its lethality was not as great as one might imagine!

Moreover, as a Devil Fruit user of the Zoan type, Lafitte is indeed tough to knock out!

He truly can take a beating!

His entire head was clearly smashed into the dirt,

yet he stubbornly refused to pass out,

and was now propping himself up with hands and feet,

straining with all his might to pull his head out!

Alas, it was stuck fast,

and no amount of pulling helped!

Regarding this,

Blackbeard merely glanced at him once,

before shifting his gaze to Li Xiao, who was hovering in the air not far away!

After a few seconds of stunned silence,
