Chapter 114: Meet a Buddha, kill the Buddha; meet an ancestor, kill the ancestor
After Wanwan left, the room remained silent. I don't know how long it had been, but Ba Fenghan spat out a breath of turbid air and said with an extremely complicated expression:
"Only today do I realize how lucky I was that day to have escaped with my life from his hands."
He shook his head suddenly:
"No, I should be extremely grateful that my martial arts were low and not worth his notice."
"So, stop thinking about standing upright in front of Master in the future. I'm afraid you'll have the life to stand but not the life to return." Kou Zhong patted Ba Fenghan on the shoulder.
The corners of Xu Ziling's mouth curled into a bitter smile:
"That makes perfect sense. If possible, Xiao Zhong and I just want to never appear in front of Master again."
Three days later, in the southern suburbs outside the city.
On a hillside, the blue-shirted youth looked into the distance to the south at a magnificent temple located on a small mountain.
A moment later, a group of experts with heavy auras arrived in a flash. Leading the way was none other than Wanwan.
"Mistress, this is my master, the Sect Leader of the Yinkui Sect, Zhu Yuyan."
She gestured to the blue-shirted youth toward a woman beside her who was graceful, slender, and wearing a veil.
She had her hair in a high bun, and even without seeing her beautiful face, one could feel her pressing, elegant demeanor.
"Mistress, our sect is divided into three levels: Heaven, Earth, and Man. The martial arts passed down are also completely different, distinguished by robes: Heaven is white, Earth is black, and Man is yellow."
"Only disciples who have been granted the white of Heaven have the opportunity to glimpse the Heavenly Demon secret techniques. In the sect, apart from my personal disciples, only elder-level experts have this honor."
"And I have already executed half of the disciples in the sect, and even several elders."
After speaking, Wanwan stepped forward and opened several black bundles in her hands, revealing three heads.
Zhu Yuyan pointed to the head of an old man with gray hair and a sinister face:
"This is my martial uncle. He had a very high status in the sect, second only to me and Wanwan. His name is Bi Shou-xuan."
She then pointed to the head of a middle-aged man with a handsome appearance, graying temples, and a dashing demeanor:
"This is my martial brother, the Demon Hidden Bian Bufan."
Then she pointed to a head that was charming, mature, and beautiful:
"Our sect elder, Wen Cating, who specializes in charm and illusion."
The blue-shirted youth continued to gaze at the magnificent temple in the distance and said nonchalantly:
"Sect Leader Zhu is indeed a heroine among women. Her actions are more decisive and ruthless than ninety percent of the men in the world. I have felt the sincerity of the Yinkui Sect in abandoning evil and following good."
"Everything is for the inheritance of the sect; I had no choice but to do so." Zhu Yuyan replied.
"Whether it is the righteous path or the demonic path, seeking advantages and avoiding disadvantages is human nature. Do you think the people of the Jingnian Chan Sect will be as obedient as you?"
"In Wanwan's opinion, those old monks, knowing they are no match for the Mistress, will only want to persuade you to put down the butcher's knife and turn back to the shore." Wanwan said softly.
"Oh, is that so? Then follow me and take a look."
Clouds suddenly swirled around the blue-shirted youth, and he drifted toward the magnificent temple.
The pupils of Zhu Yuyan and the others shook. It is said that hearing a hundred times is not as good as seeing once. Today, they felt that the words were true. The other three Yinkui elders felt that their Sect Leader was wise; how could one fight such an inhuman existence?
Several people immediately rose into the air and followed quickly.
A moment later, the blue-shirted youth landed generously on the white jade square, which was a hundred zhang wide. Zhu Yuyan and the others arrived behind him after a few leaps.
Zhuang Buran did not wait for the surrounding monks to react and said loudly:
"The Mistress of the New Jingzhai, Qing Jingyuan, has come to visit the temple. Please ask Master Liaokong and the Four Great Divine Monks to come out and meet me."
As the voice echoed continuously in the temple, five or six hundred monks with shallow internal strength suddenly felt pain on their faces, blood spilled from the corners of their mouths, and they fell to the ground one after another with a "thump."
Seeing this, the people of the Yinkui Sect felt their breathing stagnate and couldn't help but feel lingering fear.
The blue-shirted youth glanced sideways:
"I just crippled their meridians and dispersed their True Qi, letting monks look like monks. It shouldn't be too much, right?"
"The Mistress is indeed a person outside the world who cultivates the Heavenly Dao; you are truly too kind." Wanwan said with a smile:
"If it were Wanwan, with your strength, I would definitely start a massacre and send all these annoying monks to see the Buddha."
As soon as she finished speaking, one monk after another walked out of the main hall behind the Copper Hall with their hands folded, each with a solemn expression, as if facing a great enemy.
A total of two hundred and thirty-two old and young monks lined up in more than ten rows at the entrance of the main hall. They moved without making a sound, not even a breath, obviously possessing deep internal strength.
Four tall and burly monks in blue robes stood at the four corners, holding Zen staves weighing over a hundred catties.
A monk under forty, tall and handsome, led four old monks out of the Copper Hall and stood at the top of the white stone steps leading to the hall.
The handsome monk leading them had a slender and dashing figure, and his bright face had a divine light that transcended the secular world. His demeanor was neither weak nor arrogant, but made people feel comfortable and natural. He was none other than Liaokong, the Zen Master of the Jingnian Chan Sect.
The old monk with a thin figure, a clear face, deep eyes like an abyss, and white eyebrows hanging over his cheeks, had the demeanor of a transcendent wise man. He was the leader of the Four Great Divine Monks, Master Jiaxiang, the Sect Leader of the Sanlun Sect.
The old monk who was as burly as a mountain, holding a Zen staff, with hair and beard like halberds and eyes like lightning, was Emperor Heart Venerable of the Huayan Sect.
The old monk with a kind face, a slightly plump figure, clear eyes like a baby, and holding prayer beads, was Master Zhihui, the Sect Leader of the Tiantai Sect.
The old monk with a gray beard, casual clothes, and a lazy demeanor as if playing in the world, was Master Daoxin of the Zen Sect.
The blue-shirted youth said lazily:
"Hehe, my Buddhist sect has a deep foundation. Apart from the masters, just this batch of monks could form a monk army that could charge through the battlefield like entering an empty land."
Liaokong's eyes were deep and unfathomable. He folded his hands and said:
"Amitabha, Qingyuan, your Buddha heart and nature are very heavy. Why have you developed a sense of discrimination and let your own attachments become so heavy?"
"With your talent and understanding, if you cultivate with a calm heart, you will sooner or later become the first disciple of Cihang Jingzhai to break through life and death and shatter the void."
"Today you are actually associating with the demonic path. You are degenerating yourself. If you don't turn back to the shore, you will definitely cause evil consequences."
As soon as the words fell, Wanwan giggled:
"Mistress, Wanwan didn't guess wrong, did she? I knew the old monks of the Pure Meditation Zen Sect would say that."
"Master Liaokong actually broke his silent Zen for me today." The blue-shirted youth smiled and said again:
"Do you know why I like wearing blue?"
He didn't wait for Liaokong to answer and said to himself:
"Blue is not a primary color; it is a mixed color. The so-called primary colors refer to the five colors of green, white, black, red, and yellow. From ancient times to the present, primary colors have been more noble than mixed colors."
"Especially the virtuous monks of the Buddhist sect, who mostly use primary colors, such as your yellow-brown monk robe, and the four great divine monks who wear white and black robes."
"Master Liaokong says I have developed a sense of discrimination, but the blue shirt I wear doesn't it already explain that I am willing to lower my status and position, willing to be in a low position, and be dispatched by all living beings?"
"And now, upholding justice and eliminating evil, setting things right, is to obey the mandate of Heaven and spread the good law."
Zhuang Buran reached out to stroke his temples, and a touch of mockery appeared on his eyebrows:
"Furthermore, as a person outside the world, I don't shave my head, but I am different from those hypocritical fellow disciples who only love to entertain people with their looks."
"Most of them only claim to have a perfect state of mind after they are old and faded, and then enter the empty gate, but I don't shave my head because I take all living beings in the world as my parents."
"A thread is tied to the three thousand worlds, and every root is pulling at the heartstrings. Only then are there three thousand troubles."
"The three thousand strands of trouble are to experience the troubles of all living beings."
His eyes scanned the monks:
"Only because I don't move my heart, how can I know the hearts of all living beings? If I don't move my feelings, how can I know the feelings of all living beings? If I don't know the heart and don't know the feelings, how can I save the people of the world?"
"Keeping these three thousand strands of trouble, watching the suffering of the world, and knowing the worries of all living beings, can one develop the heart of Bodhi and save the people in the red dust."
Liaokong shook his head gently, his eyes filled with compassion, and said:
"Foolish child, since you have already left home, you should transcend the world and not be stained by the red dust. Yet you are attached to the red dust, and even because of this, you have worries, suffering, anger, and rage. You have fallen into attachments and cannot be empty of the four elements. How can you talk about seeing your own nature?"
The blue-shirted youth clapped his hands and laughed:
"Hahaha, Master says my bright mirror is covered in dust, yet I am worried about the great thousand worlds and cannot wipe it clean. May I ask you masters, who are in the red dust, if your bright mirrors are also covered in dust and cannot be wiped clean?"
Master Daoxin spoke:
"Mistress, this old monk has gained deep insight from what Shi Feixuan heard you tell about the Abbot beheading the cat."
"Knowing it cannot be done, yet doing it—courage!"
"Knowing that the disciples have no understanding, yet doing it—courage!"
"Knowing that tomorrow is not determined by oneself, yet doing it—courage!"
"Three courages, three 'doing it'—this is not something a normal person can do. But if it spreads, most people won't learn it, and if they do, it's like walking the demonic path."
Emperor Heart Venerable shouted:
"That's right. This old monk holds the precepts because I am afraid of falling into the evil path, and I cultivate the Pure Land because I am afraid of the suffering of the six paths. Your Dao is like Buddha and like a demon. If you practice it, you will only harm others and yourself."
"Hahaha, harm others and myself."
The blue-shirted youth's laughter made all the monks' ears ache. Those with insufficient internal strength couldn't control their bodies and trembled.
"How do you all practice Zen and realize the Dao? Have you not read the 'Diamond Sutra'? This dialogue in it is very clear, yet you all can't realize anything."
"Subhuti, what do you think? Can the Tathagata be seen by his physical form?"
"No, World Honored One, the Tathagata cannot be seen by his physical form."
"Why? The physical form spoken of by the Tathagata is not the physical form."
"The Buddha told Subhuti: All forms are illusory. If you see that all forms are not forms, then you see the Tathagata."
His eyes flickered, and he said lightly:
"Therefore, if you want to get the correct understanding of the Dharma, don't be deceived by others. You must look inside and outside, and kill whenever you meet one."
"Meet a Buddha, kill the Buddha; meet an ancestor, kill the ancestor; meet an Arhat, kill the Arhat; meet your parents, kill your parents; meet your relatives, kill your relatives."
"Only in this way can you achieve liberation, not be restrained by things, and be free and at ease."
The blue-shirted youth's tone seemed to contain the sound of gold and stone clashing. Every time he spat out the word "kill," two or three dozen of the two hundred monks would groan and fall to the ground.
When these words were finished, only Liaokong and the four great divine monks stood there with pale faces.
