Chapter 1171: New Planning, Any Insights?

"Your Highness, what if the imperial highways being built by the Xiongnu captives are not yet finished?"

"Should we withdraw them directly regardless of whether they are finished or not?"

General Zhang Han did not know how His Highness wanted to carry out this withdrawal.

If all the Xiongnu captives were withdrawn,

who would build the remaining imperial highways?

Although the imperial highways were now being built with cement, which was much simpler than before,

the speed of construction was also enough to crush the previous methods.

Although only the main roads were being built,

Great Qin's territory was vast and boundless, so it would still take quite some time to build them.

It had taken such a long time just to finish the main roads in the important commanderies of the Central Plains.

Some places that were too desolate or not of strategic military importance had not even begun construction yet.

Now, to suddenly stop construction and transfer the people to the south,

would they have the laborers from the Great Wall build them once the Great Wall was finished?

If they changed laborers, it would cost countless energy and time.

Not to mention anything else, just traveling between the two places would take a lot of time.

Not to mention that they would also need to carry various construction tools and cement.

Ying Ying Zi Ye smiled.

He could not agree with General Zhang Han's words.

"It is enough that the more important main roads in each commandery are built."

"It is impossible for all the imperial highways to be completed in three to five years."

"This is destined to be a protracted war."

"It can only be done slowly in the later stages."

Ying Ying Zi Ye looked at General Zhang Han and smiled calmly.

"You first check the situation in Hengshan Commandery."

"If the project there can be finished in a few days, then delay it for a few more days."

"But if it still takes a long time, then it can only be shelved."

"Have people take them all to the south."

General Zhang Han nodded; such a proper handling was about right.

If they were to withdraw people without any regard, it would really be bad.

Ying Ying Zi Ye ignored General Zhang Han and continued to speak.

"Although there is no war in the south now, there will certainly be war in the near future."

"Only by opening up the roads in the south will it be convenient for us to send troops for support."

"Building imperial highways is not worth mentioning compared to clearing mountains and digging roads."

"The most important thing now is to get the roads between Nanyue and the Peacock Dynasty in order."

"Later, even if both sides start fighting, we can quickly send troops to support."

General Zhang Han poured a cup of tea for Ying Ying Zi Ye.

"Your Highness, this general knows what to do."

"This general will go and handle this matter as soon as possible."

Ying Ying Zi Ye nodded; he still trusted General Zhang Han's ability to handle affairs.

"Your Highness, why do you let General Zhang Han do everything?"

"This will tire General Zhang Han out."

"Why not give some to me? My ability is also good."

General Wang Li felt he had lost his sense of presence.

Mainly because as a guard, he sometimes had nothing to do.

He felt quite idle and wanted to find something to do.

"You just wait for now; there are plenty of things for you to do, just don't complain about being tired when the time comes."

Ying Ying Zi Ye glanced at General Wang Li.

This kid was now complaining about being too idle; he just hoped he wouldn't complain when he got busy.

General Wang Li's eyes lit up upon hearing this.

He was a person who couldn't stay idle; as long as there was work for him, he was willing to do it no matter how bitter or tiring it was.

Since His Highness had said so, there must be something he needed to do.

Therefore, he could only wait with peace of mind.

General Zhang Han also glanced at General Wang Li; this kid was actually snatching work to do.

General Wang Li could only smile awkwardly.

Ying Ying Zi Ye looked at Brother Zheng, almost forgetting one thing. ===== CHAPTER 1173 =====
