Chapter 199

Outside Sucheng.

Wang Li commanded twelve thousand soldiers to launch an attack on the soldiers on the city walls.

Originally, they had come here wanting to scout the situation before taking action.

But seeing that there didn't seem to be many city-guarding soldiers.

After some discussion, Ying Ying Zi Ye decided to attack.

He wanted to create a sense of oppression for the other side.

But they had come in a hurry, and only crossbows were available to use.

As for those siege chariots and scaling ladders, not a single one had been brought.

They could only fight a surprise attack first.

Under repeated exchanges of fire, both sides had casualties.

But because there were not many city-guarding soldiers, the casualties were greater.

Moreover, the city-guarding soldiers' morale was low, and they were caught off guard.

Without siege chariots, Wang Li and the others couldn't even break the city gates.

Both sides fought for a while, and Wang Li decisively ordered the retreat.

After retreating to a safe place, they all stopped.

Wang Li showed a helpless expression; they lacked siege weapons.

"Ninth Prince, without siege chariots, we cannot get in."

"The current plan is to go to the surrounding cities to mobilize some siege chariots."

Ying Ying Zi Ye looked in the direction of Sucheng and fell into deep thought.

Wang Li thought that the Ninth Prince had never seen such a tragic war and was shocked.

So he called out a few more times before Ying Ying Zi Ye came back to his senses.

He was indeed somewhat shocked.

But it wasn't fear; he just wasn't used to it at first, feeling that human life was worthless.

Cold weapon warfare was often the most tragic and had a very strong visual impact.

One could even clearly feel that tragic, bloody smell.

It was his first time encountering such a scene, and he was just temporarily unaccustomed to it.
