Chapter 276: One Divine Artifact, Worth a Thousand Men

After a long while, Wang Li and the other two finally came to their senses.

The imperial examination system was another fresh term.

They didn't understand it, but it sounded very powerful; they felt it was impressive without knowing why.

"Ninth Young Master, may I ask, what does the imperial examination system mean?"

Seeing Xiao He had a strong thirst for knowledge; if the recommendation system was to be abolished, then this imperial examination system must be a very weighty matter.

But he had never heard of it and couldn't quite understand what it meant.

"The imperial examination system allows the learned to obtain official positions through examinations, no longer needing incumbent officials to write recommendation letters."

"The benefit of this move is that it can put an end to the formation of cliques in the imperial court and the situation where one family dominates."

When Ying Ying Zi Ye said this, the three understood, but they were also dumbfounded.

Obtaining official positions through examinations.

This was almost like a dream.

One must know that the Great Qin's recommendation system had a long history; officials wrote recommendation letters, and without a recommender, one simply couldn't become an official.

Now, it was actually possible to obtain an official position through examinations; this news would drive those common people crazy!

And in this way, those noble families in the imperial court would lose their qualification to recommend and could no longer rely on their seniority.

They could no longer do whatever they wanted just because they had many people they recommended.

This imperial examination system had immense benefits for the imperial court.

But it was a significant blow to the current officials.

Everyone is equal!

Even if one is a young master of a noble family, if one doesn't study hard, one might not necessarily have an official position!

Ordinary commoners, if they study hard, can also change their status as farmers and transform into officials.

In this way, competition will become even more intense, and there will be a sense of urgency driving people to improve.

As long as you don't improve, you are easily weeded out.

Han Xin and the other two were speechless for a long time.

As long as military generals know how to lead troops in battle, they are irreplaceable.

But this imperial examination system also had some influence on them.

But relatively speaking, the influence was still quite small.

The Great Qin Daily, an imperative necessity!

This move had only benefits and no drawbacks for Great Qin.

He didn't expect that the Ninth Young Master would assign him such a heavy responsibility right away.

This made Seeing Xiao He feel somewhat flattered.

But he believed he could make this Great Qin Daily a success.

Although it would be difficult in the early stages, he had the Ninth Young Master supporting him from behind.

As long as the Great Qin Daily was successful, his merit would also be unparalleled.

Then, his promotion and advancement would no longer be a dream!

Thinking of this, Seeing Xiao He looked at Ying Ying Zi Ye with an incredibly fervent gaze.

"Ninth Young Master, this subordinate is willing to do everything in my power to do this, and will not hesitate to go through fire and water!"

"However... how should this subordinate go about it?"

Ying Ying Zi Ye smiled; this Great Qin Daily shouldn't be difficult.

He provided the money and the people, and let Seeing Xiao He manage and develop it.

With the official background, if this still couldn't be done.

Then he could just go home and retire.

The Xianyang Daily could be distributed for free in the early stages.

Once the reputation was established, then they would switch to a fee-based model.

It couldn't possibly be free forever.

They had to recover at least some of the costs.

They didn't need to earn too much, just as long as they didn't lose money.

"For that part, you will have to use your own initiative."

"At the beginning, you can write some interesting things in it."

"Big and small events in Great Qin, such as when the first batch of auspicious food crops will mature."

"For example, how much manpower and resources the appearance of the curved-shaft plow and the seed drill has saved."

"Tax reforms, the distribution of land to the people, so that no one under heaven will starve to death."

Ying Ying Zi Ye explained some precautions and how to operate it.

And Seeing Xiao He's mind turned fast; he understood everything at once and didn't need to be told a second time.

Ying Ying Zi Ye's grand vision made Seeing Xiao He and the other two feel their blood boiling.

They couldn't wait to implement this matter immediately.

"By the way, Ninth Young Master, this is a huge project!"

"How many people would it take to write the daily newspaper?"

"The number of daily newspapers needed for the entire Xianyang City should be a huge figure."

"If we open a Great Qin Monthly in the future, how many people would be needed to finish writing it?"

After Seeing Xiao He calmed down, he thought of this serious problem.

Manpower was a fatal flaw that simply couldn't be compensated for.

The number of words that needed to be written every day was too high, and they would definitely be too busy to handle it.

Ying Ying Zi Ye smiled; this was not a problem at all.

This couldn't be blamed on Seeing Xiao He, as the matter of movable type printing hadn't been fully spread yet.

It was normal for Seeing Xiao He not to know.

"You can rest assured regarding the manpower."

"I have a divine artifact, one piece of which can replace hundreds or thousands of men!"

"That is movable type printing."

Wang Li and the others had never heard of this movable type printing.

They looked at Ying Ying Zi Ye with blank expressions.
